Itinerary

Board the bus for your hop-on, hop-off tour at any of the stops along the route. Exchange your voucher for a ticket that is valid for three, 24, 48, or 72 hours, depending on your schedule and preferences.

Disembark at any point to explore areas that interest you. Spend as much time as you like at any one stop, or skip those that don't interest you. Climb down to explore Vatican City and learn about the history of the Catholic Church, or throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, which legend has it ensures you return to Rome. Sit on the Spanish Steps and sample a local gelato or explore the Pantheon. Disembark to learn about the times of Roman gladiators in the Colosseum or stroll through the ancient Roman Forum.

While on the bus, listen to recorded audio commentary in nine languages through the provided headphones. The recorded narrative gives a comprehensive history of Rome and details its current role as a thriving Italian metropolis.

Easy to find and get on and off at your leisure. It helped reprieve us from the heat some while navigating the city on foot. We got the 48 hour pass and used it to go to the different attractions we wanted to see.

I would never book again. They don’t have anyone live. Their staff is useless. They don’t even talk to you. They sit on their phones and don’t help at all. It was terrible.

Does not stop at the Colloseum

Although advertised as stop 3 Colloseum, it does not stop there. They would not pick up the people waiting at the stop and did not allow us off the bus. The driver pointed to a Do Not Bothrr the driver sign This resulted in a missed scheduled tour. He shook his finger No to the people waiting to get on and knocking at the door.

Great way to get around Rome

BigBus in Rome is a great way to get around. Buses have Air Conditioning, and while not as effective as in a car, did work reasonably well. The commentary was interesting and all the outlets we tried worked. Can get crowded, but we never had to stand. The App is also very functional.

1 day should be 24 hours

I purchased a 1 day pass and thought it was 24 hours not just the day i purchased it. We had a delay at the airport so we arrived at our hotel at 4 pm. We only could do one loop around

Few drop off points and quite far from main sights

Not so good

Activated 72hr ticket but could not use it except for the night tour. Didn’t not get Free gelato due to companies cumbersome policy. Gelato store needed printed tickets when we asked the bus attendant he said he can’t because he is changing shifts then the next one said he didn’t have the tickets with him we have to wait for the next bus. It was very hot and we couldn’t wait therefore we abondenes the idea. 72hr tickets for 4 people never used because it was always out of our jurisdiction or the stops being closed. Not the best experience and waste of $$

You don’t see anything, airco is not working. So hot. Evevry stop they leave the back door open so long that it’s becomes a sauna.. just take a taxi easier better! Roof top bus have no sun cover… how is that even possible ☹️

Unfriendly and Unwilling to a help

We asked two different employees to help us find a bus stop both told us they would not help us since we didn’t buy our tickets directly from them. The third one we found said it’s down there by a white building. Good news there was nothing but white buildings. So unfriendly and unwilling to help. Very disappointing.

Great for a Hop on Hop off

There are plenty of people helping and guiding you at each stop. The buses run every 9 minutes. It’s great if ypu want to get a sneak peak at every thing. We had the 3hr tour and my only suggestion is if you want or plan to visit these locations and take your time, a longer tour is necessary.

Try pink bus instead

.Once you have paid your money you do not receive any service at all. Turns out if you have any complaint each bus is franchised out so there is no one to complain to when, as happened to me, I sat in a wet bus seat. Poorly marked drop off and pick up areas with no one to help adds to the poor experience, and in the heat this becomes unbearable. The pink bus tour group looked better.

Terrible, Do Not Recommend!

Terrible, do not recommend! We did this so we could see the sights and get on and off at the key landmarks. The bus doesn’t even go past any of the monuments (Eg. Trive fountain, Pantheon, St Peter’s or Vatican, Piazza) except Coloseum (but it’s not even a stop). In fact there’s only 6 stops so you may as well skip this and just walk to the attractions. Commentary was off, bus stopped at train station in heat for driver swap and didn’t even leave air-conditioning running. Then we didn’t get gelato ticket. Such a waste of money! I want a refund.

Misleading timeframe

We bought our tickets in the afternoon because the post said the “24 hour” ticket was good for one day upon activation. We made the logical assumption that it meant a 24 hour period but in actuality your ticket is only good during business hours THE day it is activated. We were only able to use them from 3pm-7pm. The trip info should clarify the 24 hour ticket is only good the day it is activated. It is not really a “24 hour” ticket.

Ideal way to get around the city and get off at any of the stops My only issue was upstairs there was only a little bit of shade at the back in the 35 degree heat - they could use a complete cover for this weather as people couldn’t stand it but there was no room downstairs to sit in the shade ! Don’t book if you have limited mobility or short on time.

The concept is good. However it’s not so well executed. You’re hounded as soon as you get into Rome by the bus company for you to buy tickets from them. Once on the bus the headroom downstairs is diabolical. There are double decker buses in other countries with shorter bridges that still manage to have adequate headroom clearance. The headsets and audio is actually good as far is English is concerned. However the worst thing is the stops. I booked this tour hop on hop off bus because right now I have limited mobility and I’m walking with a stick. I thought it should have been a great option to get from location to location. Nope. We only managed to get off at 1 stop, which was for the Vatican. The Vatican is still a good 1 mile at least away from this bus stop. A half an hour walk. Not ideal. This isn’t listed anywhere. The other sites are the same. Huge distances from the stops, also the stops are about 20-30mins apart from each other. We wasted our very limited time on the bus or walking to the sites we wanted to see that were advertised close to the stops. Don’t book this. Take taxis. It might work out similar price or the metro. Etc.

The big bus is decent!

Terrible experience

Really disappointed with this ‘tour’. Wasn’t told about or given the earphones which has a voiceover as your drive round. The bus doesn’t go to any of the sites, but rather stops around the city and you have to walk into the city. Spent an hour on the bus going round the city not seeing or hearing anything! Would not recommend.

The night tours are very popular, get your tickets early, confirm date and time, arrive at least 30 minutes early if you plan on sitting on the top of the bus. We had an issue while in Rome , but was rectified and handled wonderfully by Asif ,very understanding and helpful. Thank you Asif.

Great option to see Rome!

Easy to find meeting spot and jump on and off throughout the day. I do wish the driver would announce the stop numbers or maybe he did but only those inside the bus could hear.

Beware of what is advertised on the Hop on Hop off !

The Ad said we would stop at 4 more locations then we got to stop at! Very disappointing as we were looking forward to stopping at the Spanish Steps and Fountain of Trevi location etc. Wish we would have taken other Bus service who did stop at the important locations!!
