Alessandro was on time and very professional. He was an excellent narrator of the historical background, very pleasant, patient and accommodating. We had an awesome time!!!! Paolo was our driver and he was wonderful. He arrived promptly, took us to amazing sites in Rome, suggested a wonderful place for lunch, and then safely back to port. He communicated with us the day before to confirm everything. We couldn’t have been more pleased. I highly recommend this tour!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience exploring Rome with Peter as our driver. From start to finish, he went above and beyond to make our day smooth, memorable, and stress-free.
Peter didn’t just take us to the typical tourist spots—he thoughtfully guided us off the beaten path, showing us hidden gems and local perspectives we never would have discovered on our own. His knowledge of Rome added so much depth to the experience, and we learned far more than we expected.
He was also an excellent driver—professional, safe, and incredibly efficient. Thanks to him, we stayed perfectly on schedule without ever feeling rushed, which is no small feat in a city like Rome!

We had a fabulous time, however if can avoid Sunday and a Catholic holiday, you would have less crowds. So glad we had a driver take us around and tell us about the sights, instead of doing Rome on our own.

Wow! This was an amazing experience! Beatrice was beyond knowledgeable and gave us so much great information. She is such an awesome tour guide. Told us the best places for pictures, directions to see the best sites. She gave us ample amount of time at all the places we wanted to go. We saw almost everything on our “list” and then some. She started our day at a quaint bakery where we had pastries and coffee. We would not have been able to do this on a large group tour. We also were able to get places that the bus tours would not have been able to take you. She is so informative and answered any questions that we had. She is very passionate about her work and loves Rome so much. It showed in her excitement of sharing the city with us. I would highly recommend this excursion!

Our driver Paolo was excellent. He took us to several places in the city we were not aware of and provided a lot of great information all along the tour. He gave us a great tip to skip the line to get into St. Peter’s Square and Basílica which worked excellent.

We did several excursions on our 11 day cruise and this was by far the best!! Beatrice was our driver. she picked us up at the port, was very cognizant of the return to boat last call time throughout the dayas we toured the city. She was very knowledgeable about Rome’s history (archaeologist), best restaurants, and quickest routes to get to our requested locations. She had a list of the top attractions, but was very accommodating to fit in our personalized list. We told her what kind of food we were hungry for, and she picked out a great restaurant and set the reservations. If you’re looking for a private tour of Rome, you’ll be so glad you found this one. Make sure you ask for Beatrice. She is the best.!

Can not say enough good things about our experience with our Viator tour of Rome. We were picked up at the cruise port by Stefano Zanetti in a very nice Mercedes. During the tour, Stefano took us places where an NCL shore excursion bus could never go. Upon request, he briefly detoured off the main highway to show us the remanence of the Roman aqueduct. Stefano knew all the side streets, back alleys and places to park so our walk to the different attractions was always a short one versus having to walk blocks with 50+ people from a tour bus. He was VERY knowledgeable of Rome and its history, and we came away knowing much more than when we started. We late-booked tickets into the Colosseum, 2 days before arriving, Viator took care of it and Stefano had our tickets in hand. All we had to do was contact him and he would pick us up from each venue. The cost is a bit more than a shore excursion but for what you get, well worth the extra price. My wife and I will definitely use Viator on future adventures.

Stefano was wonderful! He was so charming and knowledgeable… He gave us the insights to life in Italy in years gone past and today… he shared about all the historical things and the cultural ones like food & life as an Italian… so fun to compare lifestyles between our two countries… he took us to all the iconic sights and turned us on to a wonderful trattoria for a wonderful Roman lunch… having a private driver like Stefano is the ONLY way to see Rome or any of Italy if you can….until next time… Ciao!

Wow! What a magnificent day! Beatrice, our tour guide, texted me the night before to provide me with her number so that meeting the next morning would be seamless, and it was. She was waiting right on time, right outside the cruise terminal. She showed us to her clean, comfortable Mercedes SUV, and we were off! From the second the tour started, Beatrice was taking the time to get to know us, learn what was important for us to see during our one day in Rome, made changes to her plan to make sure it happened, and even built in some extra stops. Let me tell you, I don’t think there is anyone in Rome who has a greater knowledge of its history, or who loves this city more! It was amazing to hear her speak of all the facts that she knew about ALL of the locations we went to. I am 100% certain that we saw things that others did not, including those who have been to Rome multiple times. Above and beyond all of that, Beatrice was just simply a joy to spend the day with. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met. We look forward to staying in touch with her and seeing her again when we return to Rome for a longer visit. I could not recommend this tour, this company, and especially Beatrice any more. If you are thinking about a reasonably priced private tour with the best guide in Rome…pick this one. I promise you won’t regret it.

We had an excellent experience on our Ancient Rome Shore Excursion. Viator and the tour company Best Rome Drivers did a stellar job in making the set-up and communications to confirm trip details super easy. Our driver, Claudio, was a true gentleman. He knew exactly where to go to show us all of the highlights of Rome. I would highly recommend this tour and definitely request Claudio!
