What are people saying about Roatan

Amazing family day out
We had a great private tour in Roatan. There was 5 adults and 1 baby travelling with us and the tour guide was amazingly accommodating and very baby friendly. We bought a car seat with us for the baby and she helped us get him in and out the car and held him while we sorted all out bags out. She waited patiently while we enjoyed each stop and asked us whether we wanted any additional stops. The rum and rum cake tasting was great, it was very casual and you could buy everything you tasted if you wanted to with no pressure. Outside where the tasting was a bar that overlooked a lovely view point. The sloth and monkey sanctuary was also a great experience. I hadn’t realized that we would be able to go in and get up close to the animals so that was a pleasant surprise however I was a bit nervous about the parrots who wanted to sit on our heads and shoulders. Overall it was an amazing family day out, would 100% recommend 2K tours.

Loved the monkey and sloth sanctuary!
Susana was our driver and tour guide. She took us first to the sloth and monkey sanctuary. She was great, she explained so many things about the island. The monkeys and birds at the sanctuary sat on our shoulder and head. We got some great pics. We went to a local restaurant. It was a great time. We didn't go to the beach because it was windy and raining.

Exceptional!
What a fun adventure! Our bilingual guide Carlos escorted us around the island. It was a private tour, and he took us wherever we desired. That included the Chocolate factory, the rum tasting, and shopping for souvenirs. The pace was relaxed and Carlos was extremely informative and courteous. The highlight was the animal sanctuary where we got up close and personal with macaws, capuchin monkeys and a sloth! I highly recommend this tour with Carlos.

Great company, great time. Better host.
I was skeptical with this excursion as I thought it may be a bust. I was wrong. Little sketchy walking outside the port to find the driver, but after that you're golden. We were passed off to our driver, Norma, who we would adopt in a second. Nicest lady. She's a local and knows everything about the island. Knows the history and culture. She's seen all the changes. The sloth and monkey exhibit was actually better than I anticipated. Only about 45 minutes, but very up close and personal. Norma stayed there and then took us to the next stop- the "private island". Honestly, it was a little concerning going through side roads, down dirt roads, and then stopping at some old buildings, and then onto some older boats. But don't be fooled- nicest people and they take you to Brady's Cay. A little spot on an island about 300 yds off the main island. This was the best. Low key. Not crowded. Great snorkeling. Saw a nurse shark, a barracuda, etc. There is a small restaurant and store on the island. The servers are let's say "very attentive" to asking if you need food or drinks. There are beach chairs and umbrellas. We could have spent hours here. After about 90 minutes we were taken back via boat to the main island...and there was Norma waiting for us. We asked her for a good local restaurant and she took us to a place that she knew well. We had great conversations with her over lunch and then sadly had to return to the port. Her company, Roatan Ocean Adventures, did a great job hosting us. She had nothing but praise for her boss, Herbert, and told us great stories about him and the company over the years. When an employee speaks that highly of her company and boss then you know they are legit. We would come back here without a second thought and work with ROA.

Monkeys and parrots and sloths—oh my! If a wildlife-viewing adventure appears on your wish list, you can’t go wrong with Roatan excursions that get you up close and personal with the animals that call this island off the coast of Honduras home. Active adventures abound at this popular cruise port, from ATV rides to jungle ziplines to snorkel cruises on the crystal-clear Caribbean Sea. In fact, Roatan sits near the Mesoamerican Reef, the second-largest barrier reef system in the world, so it’s teeming with colorful marine life, including starfish and turtles.
