The standard itinerary included several places that we had already visited earlier in the week but Luis was happy to look at my list of desired stops and get us to each of them on a custom tour. We promptly emailed with me before I left for my trip, so we could iron out the details of our tour. He knows the island incredibly well, and also took us to his special places. He carefully maneuvered the challenging local roads, timing our arrival to avoid lines and crowds, for an absolutely terrific day. Eduardo, our guide, is a sweet angel. He is a Madeira native and was so amazing to listen to, and just good spirited. He drove off-roading in fog and rain and was calm, cool, collected through it all - keeping us safe! We immediately were so excited to meet him because sometimes tour guides can be kind of lame… but he was truly so great! And so patient. We truly can’t stop talking about Eduardo who holds the heart of Madeira! we can’t wait to come back and hopefully see him again and also get a tour of where he shops… he had amazing style!!! Fantastic Day!

There was a little confusion about the pick up point but we finally found it within the time period given but our driver had left us. We had to call because there was no response to the messages sent and luckily another driver had recently left and turned around to get us. So with all that confusion completed, we had a wonderful time with Tito in our orange and black 4x4 tour. He was very experienced and knew all the ins and outs of the city including best shops and restaurants. Tito was an experienced driver who thrilled us with his short cuts, humor and knowledge of the area. Buckle up for a exciting adventure! The Piscina naturales pools were beautiful and so refreshing to swim in! Highly recommend! Tito ended our trip with a sweet spot, Justine’s, where we tried local drinks, Poncho and Brandy. Highly recommend the poncho passionfruit!

Fab trip. Saw dolphins and whales. Lots of interesting facts. We had calm seas and Lovely views of Madeira. Plenty of room on the catamaran to move around to see. There was also time for swimming in the sea off of the catamaran so don’t forget to take your swimming costume!

Great Day Trip!!!

We had such a fantastic day exploring Madeira on this 4x4 tour! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and we loved getting to see so many different parts of the island. We experienced just about every climate Madeira has to offer in one day! We did get rained on, but it didn’t take away from the experience at all. I would definitely recommend bringing a raincoat because the weather can change quickly. Such a fun and memorable day, and a wonderful way to see the island. Highly recommend!

Excellent tour of Madeira

Diogo our driver and tour guide messaged me ahead of time to say he’d be the cruise terminal to pick us up. He arrived promptly and our family of 6 were shown to his clean and comfortable minibus. We wanted to ride on the toboggan as most tourists to Madeira do and he dropped us all at the top of the hill at the station. Diogo then met us at the bottom and we proceeded with the rest of the tour which took us to various viewing points with ample time for photos. Diogo was an excellent guide and accomplished driver on the narrow Madeira roads. I highly recommend this tour with Diogo.

Book it! Long line of hikers waiting for taxis after hike.

Our driver was on time, professional and provided clear directions at dropoff for entrance to hike, and pointed out the area to watch sunrise prior to hike. He was on time for pick up, and provided history about the island on our return to Funchal. There was a line of people waiting for a taxi in parking lot after hike. Its worth it to guarantee a quick return trip after the 5.7 mile hike!

We had such a fantastic time! The crew was wonderful—fun, funny, kind, and so accommodating. The boat never felt crowded, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and special. We saw both dolphins and whales, and even got to swim off the back of the boat! The drinks were great, and while the food was fairly simple, it was good and there was plenty to enjoy. We had a little rain along the way, but it didn’t dampen the experience at all. Between the wildlife, swimming, beautiful views, great crew, and laid-back atmosphere, it was such a memorable afternoon. We would absolutely recommend this trip!
