We had an awesome day with João/John. Great personality with lovely stories about the island. We did the west side of the island and asked for mountains, nature and waterfalls. João delivered with an epic off road ride through the old mountain roads with amazing views. We managed to escape most of the mass tourism. The lunch recommendation was amazing with the best scabbard fish and espetada meat we have eaten our full time in Madeira. It is a long day for your driver as well so ensure enough breaks for them to rest as well. We fully recommend this tour! Thank you João!

We had a wonderful time on this all day tour. Our driver was a great guide and provided a lot of information about Madeira’s history as well as current events. It was very relaxing to be driven by an expert driver and to discover the beauty of the island at our own pace.

It was the best excursions I have ever done. Was the first time I jumped from a cliff! The instructors were very helpful and always gave you an alternative if you didn’t want to do the “scary” stuff. I did of course but not everyone wanted to and they did not chassis them for it. Great communication and sooo fun!

Nice and straight forward self guided tour. We were picked up spot on time, Diogo was a good driver and answered our questions patiently. He took us to the starting point at the parking lot and explained the trail. Though the weather wasn't ideal, the trail itself was very beautiful and worth it even in the rain. We didn't go at 6 am even though most of reviews here recommend it, but it wasn't very crowded (I guess partially due to weather and time of year) Overall, a lovely experience which we will recommend to others.

This is the best tour/experience I had in Madeira. Carlos was an amazing guide. He was very patient with us and was giving us enough breaks to rest. I struggled to reach the top but he was very encouraging and gave us tea and a snack bar to spike some sugar into our blood (considering the early wake up). Going down was much easier and the view we got to see was totally worth it. The fact that Carlos was mentioning the progress throughout the hike made it very clear and easier for our minds and bodies to keep going. He also provided jackets for whomever needed. This is a must when you are in Madeira.

Madeira is advertised as a beautiful island of mountains, sea, valleys and levadas coupled with beautiful scenery. When researching how best to get a taste of all this we felt that tarmac roads and cushioned seats wouldn’t let us experience the true Madeira. Viator, through The Green Devils allowed us a true off road experience and we loved it. Thank you

Great way to do walking trips on Madeira. Most are not circular so to be dtopped off and picked by people who have great knowledge of the island and up to the minute information about the state of the trails, etc, is ideal. My driver, Felipe, a Madeiran himself, knows the place intimately,clearly, and could answer any questions you might have. I'll definitely use this comoany again next time I come.

David was a gentleman, very knowledgeable, a great and safe driver, accommodating of everyone’s needs and abilities. We captured a phenomenal sunrise and Pico do Aeiro and managed to beat 90% of the crowds for a very enjoyable experience. We couldn’t complete the PR1 trail as it’s partially closed due to wildfires, however we did not lose out. After descending, David took us to a beautiful village for a nice coffee before driving us to complete the remainder of the trail to climb Pico Ruivo -PR1.2 Incredible views and experience. Everywhere we looked was a “wow”. The trail was moderate. Would recommend good footwear - boots ideally or good hiking shoes. The pathway is excellent but it’s very undulating and when you’re tired it could be easy to roll an ankle. We stopped at the cafe on top of Pico Ruivo for a quick refreshment and toilet break before climbing the last 500m to take it 360 views of Madeira, above the clouds. Finally, after descending, David took us to Santana to see the traditional A-framed local houses from times gone by, before returning us safely to our accommodation. 10/10. Highly recommend. David was punctual, knowledgeable, kind, and a fantastic experienced local guide.
