Private tour for two to Montserrat
Private tour was absolutely the best way to go. Joan took into consideration our preferences as to what we wanted to take in and essentially customized our tour accordingly. Vehicle was comfortable & clean for the two of us. Joan actually recommended leaving a bit earlier than scheduled due to possible impact of weather. It worked absolutely perfect!

Very fun and educational...
Very fun and educational day traveling to Montserrat and learning about the history and folklore of Catalunya as well. The amount of free time we receive could be a smidge longer to allow for more time to use the train or hike to the cross at the top. Nevertheless, the entire day was very well spent. Our tour guide Lesly was knowledgeable and kept the group engaged all day long. Would definitely do again!

Do it!
Guilia, the guide for Montserrat via Julia Travel was an excellent host. She was knowledgeable, friendly, patient and attentive. She made the trip relaxing, educational and fun. Montserrat with the cogwheel train ride up is just breathtaking. If you have the opportunity to get the additional choir boys singing package, don’t miss it! Count on your entire day being spent in the most beautiful fashion. The mountains, the monastery, Black Madonna, all of it, perfection. 10/10

Barcelona
The famous Catholic monastery on the Montserrat Mountain, Barcelona.
  • Choose from half-day Montserrat Mountain tours or full-day excursions with a stop at a cava winery for wine tasting.

  • Trips last anywhere from four to 10 hours, depending on the option you choose.

  • Montserrat Monastery is wheelchair accessible, as is the cog railway leading there. Other parts of the mountain, including the funiculars, are not accessible.

  • Bring layers, as Montserrat, especially the top of the mountain, is cooler than nearby Barcelona.

  • Wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes on your Montserrat tour or visit, especially if you plan to make use of the trail network.
