We did the 8:00am tour with Frank. He is so incredibly knowledgeable about the area. We were originally hesitant to choose this tour because many reviews were from those 70+. We are in our 30’s and we were similar members in our group and had a great time. Perfect weather and the walk down from the top of the funicular was enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking. By the time we left it was crazy busy but because we got there early we got to enjoy it slightly quieter.

The funicular was sooo fun! Only a 6 min ride but VERY steep and mind-boggling! Our guides, Jesus and Jordi, were kind, good drivers, and full of information. We truly enjoyed hanging out with them for the day. Highly recommend this tour to get a taste of Monserrat. You can't see it all in 6 hours, but you'll see a lot and have a good visit.

Our guide for this trip was Frank. A 50 ish minute drive out of Barcelona to Monserrat. Arriving the clouds covered the valley which was awesome to see, a pure memory moment. Breath taking. Franks knowledge, passion was simply brilliant. He captivated the tour group with historical stories. We would never have got this level of detail from walking around ourselves. He kept saying, come this way you’ll get a better view, go there you’ll see this. Always on hand to answer questions and talk. A great guide, who clearly knew what he was talking about. Monserrat is a gorgeous monastery, filled with history and stunning buildings and scenery. I’m so glad we booked this tour. Frank was fabulous.

The drive went smoothly. Mother nature decided not to wake up and kept her sleepy eyelids closed =!-lots of fog. & unable to see mountain views. Due to prior rain some rocks falling, funicular was non operable. The sun did come out towards the end of our hike. The monastery & surroundings are beautiful. It was a good day nonetheless.

Phenomenal! Our guide was knowledgeable and reassuring when weather looked bad that the sun will come out. The funicular wasn’t working so we walked up to the cross and it was invigorating. I’m 72 yo fairly fit female and made it!

I can’t say enough good things about this experience. Our guide Geordie was absolutely fabulous! If you are in decent shape, don’t be afraid to do the full walk. I am 73 and had no problems.

Jordi was a great guide for the tour. We ran into a scheduling issue with a funeral at the Basilica, and horrible traffic leaving the city, but he effortlessly rearranged the order of the day to make it work perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and obviously very familiar with Montserrat. The location was stunning. Very highly recommend!

It’s a lovely experience. The guide is knowledgeable and gives interesting information on the ~1 hour drive to Monserrat, and of course, when at the mountains. It’s not rushed, so you also have plenty of time for photos and reflection. I visited on an overcast day, and it was still beautiful to see. The furnicular is nearly vertical, which I wasn’t expecting. Stand at the front of you want the best views.

Juan was amazing! He was so knowledgeable, kind, easy-going, and also kept a great pace for the tour. My mom and I agreed it was the best tour we had in Spain ( and we had many). The perfect mini escape from the city with the perfect combination of both nature and history. You don’t have to be a great hiker to enjoy. We first went to the monetary and then took the funicular up and hiked down about 1 hour at an easy pace. Would highly highly recommend.

A wonderful trip filled with insights to Montserrat. Our guide Jesus was very knowledgeable about the religious aspects of the site. Additionally as we walked the terrain Jesus was able to communicate a great deal of information about the terrain, vegetation and wildlife.

Jordi did a very nice job as guide. I did not do the hike but those who did said going up was moderate and coming down was somewhat difficult because of all the stairs. Enjoyed my visit very much

Juan was an excellent tour guide and made it so easy to navigate Montserrat. He was great in showing us amazing vistas and accommodating everyone in the group. His knowledge of both the trails and history of this remarkable place added to the experience. Being able to arrive at the Basilica early, beat the crowds, get in some hiking and be back in Barcelona early in the afternoon with a driver is the way to go!

The tour was as described, everything was organised well and the guide was brilliant. Not much free time at the end depending on how long you take to do the hike, so may not be the correct trip for you if you want more free time at Montserrat. Recommended!

Seeing Montserrat was beautiful. Our guide was excellent. We loved learning the history of the mountains and the monastery. We got to see so much on the hike down the mountain too, the views were amazing. This is a perfect day trip from Barcelona and such a nice way to spend time on the mountain, in nature.

The breathtaking views from the moment we arrived made the day memorable. I recommend taking the funicular ride to the top and hiking down to really enjoy the day as it was less stressful than walking both ways. We had a clear, cool day which allowed for spectacular views and a guide Jorge who was personable and very knowledgeable about the history which made the day go so much smoother. The inside of the church was incredible. Couldn’t have been a better day!
