⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Journey to the Edge of History: The Ultimate DMZ Experience!
If you are visiting South Korea, this DMZ tour is an absolute **must-do**. It perfectly balances deeply moving history, military tension, stunning natural views, and even a bit of modern fun. Our day was packed with incredible sights, and everything ran seamlessly. Here is a breakdown of why this tour deserves a glowing 5-star rating! # 1. Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park & The Historic Bridges Our day started at Imjingak Park. Since there is no online reservation system, this is where you stop to secure your official DMZ tickets. Fortunately, there is an early-opening snack bar and restaurant here so you can grab breakfast! Mangbaedan Altar: A deeply moving memorial where North Korean refugees honor the families they left behind. Bridge of Freedom & Derailed Locomotive: Standing where prisoners of war once crossed to freedom, seeing the bullet-ridden train, and viewing the colorful ribbons filled with wishes for reunification was incredibly powerful. # 2. Crossing the Civilian Control Line & Entering the DMZ The tension gets real as the tour bus approaches the Civilian Control Zone (CCZ) checkpoints. Soldiers board the bus to check passports, which really underscores the security of the area. Once cleared, you cross the "blue line" and officially enter the DMZ! # 3. The Big Highlights of the DMZ Tour We stopped at four incredible locations inside the zone: The 3rd Infiltration Tunnel: Absolutely mind-blowing. Walking deep underground into a secret tunnel dug by North Korea—located just 52km from Seoul—was a thrilling and humbling experience. Dora Observatory: The absolute highlight! On a clear day, you can see right into North Korea with your naked eyes. Using the binoculars to spot North Korean villages, propaganda flags, and fields was surreal. Unification Village (Tongilchon): A peaceful village inside the restricted zone. We loved browsing the local products grown right here in the DMZ. # 4. Mt. Gamaksan Suspension Bridge Next, we headed to Chulleong Bridge. What used to be a fierce, tragic battlefield during the Korean War has been transformed into a breathtaking natural wonder. Walking across the massive suspension bridge offered spectacular, panoramic mountain views. It’s the perfect place for photos! # 5. North Korea Museum: To wrap up an intense day of history, we visited the North Korea Museum. The first floor features a super fun, trendy Korean-style photo booth where you can pose with hilarious green-screen backgrounds alongside cutouts of Kim, Trump, or JSA soldiers. It was a great way to share some laughs with family and friends after a long day. Finally, the tour dropped us off right in the heart of Myeongdong, making it incredibly convenient to dive straight into street food shopping and dinner! 💡 **Final Verdict:** This tour is the perfect mix of education, emotion, adventure, and fun. It is exceptionally organized, deeply eye-opening, and worth every single penny. **10/10 highly recommend, especially with our tour guide Joo EE!**

Amazing Day with Nova!
Had a fantastic tour with Nova! She was so knowledgeable and provided so many interesting facts. She was very clear on the plan and instructions throughout the day and was so personable to everyone. This was a great tour - I learned so much about the Korean War and got to see so many interesting sites. Being able to actually see into NK with binoculars was so cool! Definitely a must-do when travelling in Seoul to learn about the history of Korea and would recommend VIP Travel for sure!

Julie was one of the best tour guides I have experienced while traveling! She made this tour very personal by memorising our names which has made a very strong impression on me. She is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the DMZ, history of North and South Korea and brings empathy along with the facts. Defenitely this is a must do tour with Julie for anyone visiting South Korea!

Our guide AJ was...
Our guide AJ was absolutely AMAZING!. I’m sure most of the tour guides are great, but her specialty was that she made us laugh and enjoy learning about the history of Korea. Time flew on the bus because we were thoroughly engaged, laughing, and learning. Highly recommend!
