One of the best experiences of our Caribbean cruise. On our crossing of the Atlantic from Europe to the Caribbean, we had the absolute pleasure of visiting Sao Miguel. Our host Gonçalo was the perfect ambassador, his knowledge and experience combined with an incredible pride for his home island, made for an unforgettable experience. After disembarking our ship we (my girlfriend myself and our two Canadian friends) where underway in literally minutes, no waiting, queues or hassle. Beautiful viewpoints, photo opportunities, lake furnas, the amazingly refreshing hot springs of Poca de Dona Beija (highly recommended) and the waterfall at Ribeira dos Caldeiroes made for an amazing day! Probs again for Gonçalo who was a fantastic host. Not only did his love for the Azores rub off on us, his English was also impeccable; often joining in when we bantered with our Canadian friends about their ‘exclusive accommodation aboard our ship’ This was a full day excursion. Pick up from the cruise terminal and back to the ship was approximately 8 hours. 10/10 would absolutely recommend!

Great tour exploring some of the less visited sites of Sao Miguel including a delicious buffet lunch in a small village restaurant. Our tour guide was Joao who was a great character and very knowledgable. I can recommend the tour for those looking for some great views that aren’t currently on the tourist route.

We had a great time on our tour with Romeo! We went on our first full day so that we could return to some of the places we enjoyed most. Our guide gave many local recommendations and facts about the Azores in addition to a lovely tour. He was laid back and flexible yet attentive. My only recommendation would be to ensure you get a reservation in one of the jeeps as we had another group of 2 in a regular 4x4 SUV and it was a bit tight.

Our tour guide Rafael was outstanding with his knowledge, personality and care and concern with our entire group of amazing new friends we met. We (family of 6) spent a full day with Jose touring Furnas. He shared stories and history of the places we went. And went out of his way to drop us off or pick us up as close as possible to ensure my husband with limited mobility was able to see all the sites. Jose started the day with car trouble but that did not stop him from getting us around the island. Just made it more of an adventure. Jose was wonderful, knowledgeable and took us places we would not have seen on our own. We would definitely recommend booking with Jose and would absolutely book with him again.

This tour was an absolutely amazing experience! It beautifully showcased the diverse Azorean landscape, featuring everything from calderas and lagoons to waterfalls. Joaquim, our guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable about both the natural environment and the rich culture of the Azores.

What a fun way to tour!! I was unsure of what to expect, but the ATV tour was just a great way to see area in a different way. We had already done a full day tour of the Sete Cidades area by a traditional van tour earlier in the week, and though we went to overlapping areas, the open air traveling (though admitted cold at times) allowed us to take away a different experience from the beautiful nature we were seeing. Philip was our guide and he was attentive, fun and knowledgeable. He kept things moving but in a comfortable pace. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little adventure with their sightseeing.
