Absolutely outstanding wine and food tasting experience in Santorini with Nic We recently did a wine and food tasting tour in Santorini that exceeded every expectation. Over the course of the day we visited three different wineries, and I came away with a far deeper understanding of wine than I ever imagined I would. The whole experience felt educational without ever being stuffy, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. Nic, our host, was simply outstanding. He is personable, incredibly knowledgeable, and endlessly patient. He explained everything clearly, answered every question without a hint of impatience, and made the whole group feel welcome and looked after. His passion for the wines and the island shone through, and it made a huge difference to how much we got out of the day. The wines themselves were excellent, the food pairings were thoughtful and delicious, and the views from the vineyards and tasting spots were pure Santorini magic. The people we met along the way were friendly and welcoming, and every detail of the experience felt well organised and considered. Special mention also to our driver Nick, who was a pleasure throughout — smooth, professional, and part of what made the day run so seamlessly. And then the comedy finish: the final winery turned out to be literally about 20 metres from the apartment complex where we were staying. After twelve glasses of wine, the journey “home” was less of a trek and more of a very short, slightly wobbly victory lap. We couldn’t have asked for a more convenient (or amusing) ending. Everything about the day — the wines, the food, the views, the company, Nic’s hosting, and Nick’s driving — was outstanding. Highly recommended if you’re in Santorini and want a tasting experience that is both fun and genuinely informative.
