This cooking class was one of the highlights of our time in Santorini! It felt incredibly authentic—fast-paced, engaging, and filled with a true sense of Greek family warmth. The setting inside a traditional cave home was pristine and beautiful, with an upscale yet cozy atmosphere that felt worlds away from the tourist crowds.
We loved that we got to prepare and eat the very dishes we touched and cooked ourselves—everything was delicious, and there was plenty of wine flowing throughout! The hosts shared their beautiful family story, making the experience feel personal and meaningful.
It was also very educational—full of practical tips and recipes we can now bring home to extend the charm of our Greek adventure through its cuisine. A high-end, off-the-beaten-path experience that we’d absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Santorini!

Stop looking for a cooking class in Santorini and book this experience right now! George and Paula couldn’t have been more accommodating and kind. The food tutorials were fantastic and the conversation and welcoming atmosphere were exceptional. You will feel like you’re part of their family as you’re guided through the preparation of some really stunning Greek dishes. I would highly recommend this experience!

My husband and I booked this cooking experience while in Santorini on our honeymoon. We highly anticipated the experience and it was everything we had hoped and more! The class was led by a knowledgeable, funny chef and his lovely wife. They welcomed us into their home and we learned recipes and techniques that we are brining back into our home! It was a highlight of our trip!!

Outstanding cooking experience. Our hosts were delightful and welcomed us with plenty of Greek hospitality. The cooking space was well designed and we learned many helpful culinary skills including how to prepare 5 recipes. We were so full from our lunch we had to skip dinner.
Although a bit challenging to get to location, it certainly helped that Paula arranged for transportation for participants. This experience was extremely professional and certainly one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you Petra and Paula for offering us the opportunity to share your expertise with us.

You do not want to miss this amazing experience. Paula and Giorgos greeted us with open arms into their beautiful home to learn so many things about creating Greek dishes along with personal culinary secrets. Giorgos added so much fun into this 4 hour experience where we shared in a meal with new friends before leaving. It truly was the highlight of our 10 day trip to Greece.

From the second we walked into their home they had the wine flowing and made everyone feel so welcome!
George not only shared his delicious recipes but shared so many stories throughout the day! The food was outstanding!!! One of our favorite things we did throughout our 10 days in Greece!!

The food we prepared was delicious and thrilled to have learned recipes for the basic core Greek dishes. Everything was very well organized, and there was a total of five couples in our group. There was delicious wine being poured as soon as we walked in the door at 11 AM and everything was very well organized.
I was little taken back when I was chatting with a woman next to me for a few seconds, regarding an ingredient the Chef was cooking with and he called us out. He said if you have something to say you should share it with the class. I don’t believe anyone is taking this class believing they are in culinary school. People like to meet others, get to know their culture and eat and drink amazing food. Great Chef but not a serious class!
One of my favorite parts of taking cooking classes in Europe are the group photos. There was no opportunity for any of that and no one in the class take back a group pic. Typically someone helping to host the class takes the pics.

It is a little bit odd that you enjoyed the experience so much, yet you rated us as average because of comments that have nothing to do with the excellent cooking journey you enjoyed at Petra Kouzina.
To address your critics so you do not keep a bad feeling about our experience, and you treasure the memorable moments.
We receive a maximum of 15 guests in our semi-private classes. The idea of hosting a mixed group is that you share our gastronomy adventure with others, meet people and have a great time. Our chef has the responsibility to communicate all his knowledge in an interesting and fun way, so everyone learns, laughs and has a memorable time in Petra Kouzina on top of taking with them delicious Greek recipes. To manage a medium-sized group and have attention in each guest so everyone is able to listen, understand, ask questions and connect with the class it is a challenge and Chef George manages this with the most charming, professional and polite way always.
We are really sorry you felt called out. George tries to involve everyone in the class and seeks to make the group bond and be part of every detail so, most probably he truly believed that your comment could help the rest of the guests in their experience and shouldn't be kept between you and your new friend.
Regarding the photos. Yes, we do not have a designated photographer for our experience and neither we force our guests to take a group picture at any moment because every person feels different about being part of a stranger's photo. But we do encourage everyone to take all the images they want, not only by saying this in the beginning of the class, or by having the most "Instagramable" corners in our Cave Home but also by offering to take photos for everyone that visits us.
We have two amazing hosts (on top of George and me) that are available and happy to serve, help and share with every single guest. It is a lot of staff for a maximum of 15 people enjoying the class. All of us are professionals and extremely friendly so the guests, in general, feel very comfortable asking us to take pictures for them or any other assistance they might need. It is very strange that in a 4-hour experience, which, as you perfectly stated, is not a cooking school where you have to take notes and be 100% focused all the time, you didn't find the opportunity to take the pictures you wanted. For the next time you visit us please let us know and we will be happy to frame any memory you want to take with you from our incredible experience.

Georgiou knew his stuff. He's a great instructor; weaving in stories and giving expert tips and tricks. He offered warmth and delicious food. What a wonderful time we had with Paula, George, Fed and Fabiana!!! The highlight of our trip to Santorini was spending time in their traditional but totally updated cave home, drinking wine, learning George’s fantastic cooking techniques and getting to know our lovely hosts and the Greek culture. We listened to their beautiful story and got to know about the other guests as well throughout the afternoon. We chopped and seasoned our way to an absolutely delicious lunch that was then shared with fabulous friends we felt so fortunate to be with! I cannot recommend more highly…Paula and George are amazing, and shockingly we got to have a hand in actually making the best meal of our trip!!!

People make your experiences and George and Paula did that for us! The moment we arrived, Paula gave us the warmest welcome! The wine flowed, so many cooking tricks and tips were learned and the food was the best we had on the island. George was patient and funny, he was a great story teller and captured you with every word and every last detail was thought of and planned out by Paula! It was truly a magical day with an amazing cave home to enjoy unlimited wine and laughs! So glad we did this experience and would recommend to anyone. I never do reviews but this was an experience!

Do not hesitate to book this experience. Everything is dialed in to perfection. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, the entire team at Petra Kouzina has paid attention to every detail that matters. The experience starts with a warm welcome and finishes with a gracious exit. In between is some of the most fun you will have while learning a ton of great tips and techniques within the context of Greek cuisine. Along the way you get great stories, eat tasty and fresh food and drink plenty of good wine. In a trip full of highlights, this was definitely THE highlight. Thank you to the entire team at Petra Kouzina for a wonderful day. I can’t wait to come back. My only regret is not being able to capture notes on the handful of things that aren’t in the very well done recipe book!

This cooking class was amazing! We were immediately welcomed by George and Paula into their beautiful cave home with smiles, drinks, and tapas. Then we learned a bit about their passions and why they started this business before jumping into the cooking!
We learned to make a couple of traditional Greek dishes while picking up general cooking tips along the way. Throughout our time together, Paula and George continued to share their love story and backgrounds, which was wonderful. At the end, we had a full meal to enjoy together as a class and it was DELICIOUS! We cannot wait to go home and try to replicate these dishes with the cookbook they sent us home with.
This was a fantastic way to enjoy a day in Santorini, especially if you’re looking for a way to travel outside of the touristy ports and get away from the crowds.
We took the bus from Fira and it was very easy to navigate with google maps and the instructions provided by Paula ahead of time.

A highlight of our trip!!! This was highly recommended on a Facebook group and i had it saved for over a year! I was able to book through Viator about a week or two out, however we came in October which is off season, so if you’re going during the summer be sure to book in advance as it does sell out! The couple who owns it are such genuine people and their passion and love for Greece, cooking, and educating their guests is beyond measure. Truly worth it alone. However, the food is probably the best we have had on the island. Great for all levels (i do not cook anything more than home fresh meals or Pinterest recipes, but my husband is very skilled in cooking) and we both learned so much. Both about Greek cuisine, but also other cooking and kitchen skills that will come in handy in daily cooking. An absolute must do if you’re visiting Santorini!

This was our second time participating in this fabulous & delicious cooking experience and can highly recommend! Not only will you learn to make several Greek dishes in a hands-on immaculate cave home, but afterwards you will enjoy eating everything you prepared (as well as a chef made specialty) all served family style in a beautiful outdoor pergola covered area. Also, the wine flows freely! This cooking experience was the highlight of our trip!!!
