What are people saying about Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon

Incredible tour!
This tour was totally worth it. Yes it’s a long day 14 to 15 hours but there’s so many wonderful sites to see. Plenty of bathroom stops and food stops along the way. I would definitely recommend the glacier boat ride. It was very safe low-key and there was a safety boat following our boat the entire time. Would be fine for younger children or older people. Our tour guide Lily was amazing. Thank you!

Very big day out.
Disappointed that we arrived at the last waterfall in the dark and rain and it was not safe to walk behind.

Gorgeous!
At the beginning of the trip, we were asked if we wanted to add on a boat ride in the lagoon - YES. Our driver/guide Benedict was awesome. The beaches and waterfalls were amazing. The glacier was simply stunning, and the extra boat ride was definitely worth the mo ey.

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
  • While the lagoon is accessible year-round, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon tours by boat are weather-dependent and only in operation from April to November.

  • The icy landscapes can be chilly even if the sun is shining, so bring warm clothes, a hat, and gloves even on a summer trip.

  • There's a small café by the lagoon, where you can purchase hot drinks and snacks, or use the restroom.

  • While it’s possible for wheelchair users to view the lagoon, many of the activities on and around the glacier are not suitable for those with limited mobility.
