One of our favorite excursions!
You will be muddy and wet! We arrived in clothes and shoes that we didn't mind getting muddy or wet! Remember, mud stains, so dark colors are best if you plan to salvage the clothes for future wear. They sell bandanas (2 for $5) or a ski-mask ($5 ea.). We opted for the soft-material ski-mask and were thankful for the extra protection. We brought a change of clothes but didn't end up changing. Bring a towel. The walk from the boat is about 15 mins but the instructions texted were very clear. I wore sneakers for the walk and changed into water shoes for the muddy ride. What we would do differently: 1. Wear a dark color or old bathing suit under tshirt/shorts. You drive to a beach to wash off after the ride and that would have been easier to really rinse off. Then back at base-camp they have outdoors showers plus changing rooms. Be sure to bring dry clothes for the ride back unless you don't mind being dirty/wet. 2. My kids wore old sneakers and I would water shoe style footwear. Again, go with the water-shoe style for easy rinsing. You do stop at a coffee/jewelry/cigar type place where you can purchase items if you want. They really want you to, but if you say no they are respectful. I didn't feel pressured. Dogs are everywhere which was cute and we enjoyed seeing them. These folks have the system down pat! I drove the family buggy and it took some muscle and at 5'3" I couldn't quite reach the steering wheel when strapped in tight. I loosened the straps and had to sit away from the seat to be able to reach. A taller person wouldn't have an issue. I managed and it was a blast! I never felt like I was falling out of the buggy or unsafe at all. The team does a great job of getting photos and videos of the experience. The total package was $50 which is a great deal for 200+ photos/videos! I highly recommend this tour.

Amazing Waterfall Adventure 👏 😀
Thank You Prime Tours! Loved every minute of the waterfall adventure at Amber Cove! William and Becksy were extremely helpful, guiding and supporting us throughout. Highly recommend the Prime Tours team — and a great way to support local guides too. Thank you all!

Perfect excursion!
This excursion was fun and exciting! The taxi drivers were on time and ready and so friendly. The taxi was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The excursion staff were friendly and efficient. Bring a little cash for tips! The lunch buffet was delicious! Overall, it was a great excursion and we would do it again.

Very enjoyable!
Four of us took this excursion(my husband, 2 teenage kids (18 and 15 y.o.) and myself)). Usually it’s difficult to please everyone in the family but all 4 of us enjoyed the experience a lot! The meeting place was easy to find. The bus was comfortable. Waterfalls were great! Bring your own water shoes if you don’t want a rental opinion. Our shooter guy did a great job taking pictures and videos for us. The lunch was yummy and we liked the local beer.

As the Dominican Republic’s oldest city, you might think Puerto Plata excursions all revolve around history—but that couldn’t be further from the truth. While plenty of options delve into the past at the 16th-century fortress, many showcase the lush natural landscapes of the island. Tackle rugged terrain on an ATV adventure, go horseback riding on trails leading to waterfalls, feel your adrenaline levels soar during ziplines, and then cool off during snorkeling trips and sunset catamaran cruises.
