Food samples and more!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with our guide in the markets of Osaka. She really made the most of our time together and provided a lot of extra information about the history, culture and the foods we were sampling. Great way to spend a few hours especially on a rainy day since most of the markets are under cover.

Wonderful experience
Wonderful experience that one should try the very next day you arrive in Osaka. Hitomi was a perfect host, plenty of charm and lovelly stories that allow you to dive in street food Osaka. I strongly recomand it.

Noz was informative and adjusted to our food preferences. We got to experience takoyaki, Kobe beef skewer, puffer fish sashimi, tuna roll, and traditional Japanese sweets. All very good. She was knowledgeable and told us about the history of Osaka and the areas we visited. My husband and I enjoyed our tour with Noz.

Exceeded expectations
This tour exceeded our expectations. Niko was a wonderful guide and very funny. It was great trying new food. She also shows us some hidden spots and popular shopping areas. There is no pressure to buy, just showing you around the area. It was helpful we went back to the area a few times for food and shopping. U highly recommend.

Highlight of Japan Family Trip
Food tour was great and the favorite tour of our stay in Japan. It definitely fulfilled the family's need for sushi, trying everything from fish cakes to sea urchin and pufferfish. Our guide was very friendly and patient with our 2 year old, who tried everything as well, and was amazing with pointing out all the unique things in the market to see if we wanted to try it.
This will be a highlight of our Japan trip!

Excellent Tasting Tour of Kuromon Market
Hikaru was excellent! His background as a chef, coupled with his engaging personality, meant the whole group (including some teenagers) had a great time and learned a lot. We do food tours in most places we go, and this was a really good one!

It was a great experience. Not only did we try new foods, but we also visited a couple other points of interest. Niko was an amazing tour guide, very high energy and personable. She was able to build a personal relationship with everyone in the group in the short time of the tour.

Amazing experience!!! 10/10 recommend!
Our tour guide, Moeka, was extremely well educated and explained so much about the food and culture. Her English was also amazing! This was a perfect start to our trip here in Osaka. I could not be more pleased.

Great Tour of Dontonbori and Kuromon Market Highlights
Just finished this tour, and it was lovely. It took us through Dotonbori and Kuromon Market, with three stops in each area. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and provided background and details on food, key landmarks, area icons and history along the way. We had a great time and highly recommend this tour.

Great tour with Mitch
We had a great time with our tour guide Mitch, who was super friendly, helped us try a number of different local dishes, provided detailed explanations about food as well as Osaka and the local surroundings, and also showed us interesting local shops and things to try. She also took lots of great photos which we now have as memories of this lovely tour. Thank you so much!

When to visit

When eating from street food stalls, there is often nowhere to sit. Be careful not to block foot traffic while you’re eating, and stand somewhere to the side.
Make sure to take any trash from snacks purchased home with you. It’s uncommon to find trash cans in public places in Japan, because the understanding is you’ll take it away and dispose of it properly later.
There’s a rest area at the information center at the southern end of the market. You can sit and eat your snacks here, plus there are toilets and baggage storage (for a fee).
