The tour is only possible on Fridays between March and September. A full-day tour where we first explore the famous weekly cheese market of Alkmaar (Friday). Alkmaar is famous for its historic cheese markets and during summer, you get to see the tradition brought alive. Alkmaar is not just about cheese. The city is much older than Amsterdam and boasts historic town squares and monumental buildings. During the second half, we will visit the Golden Age city of Hoorn or De Rijp along with some lesser-known rural windmills.

We will meet you at the train station in Haarlem. We will visit the magnificent main square, The Cathedral of St.Bavon, the meat guild, picturesque courtyards (hofje). On bikes through the dune reserve with fantastic views we will head towards the North Sea up the road, which goes down. Don't be surprised, this is not a figure of speech at all! The bike paths are perfect here, and not a soul on them. If the bike ride is not for you, we can go by bus. It is as picturesque as the bike ride. Along the way we will stop in the National Park to have a picnic there. If we will be lucky, then we will see rabbits, foxes, deer or the highland cattles! And we will definitely see the North Sea! Almost 2000 people died and the damage was extensive. After the flood the Delta Works prevent a disaster from happening again.
