This tour is the perfect complement to the most popular tours, whether you're visiting Madeira for the first time or countless times. Our itinerary is intended to take us away from the crowds by utilizing old and secondary roads that offer beautiful and unique views. Including ascending into the mountains up to 1.241 meters and then an off-road to sea level. The selected villages will be between Ponta do Sol and Ponta do Pargo. The westernmost part of the Island and the passage through some villages such as Fajã da Ovelha, Paúl do Mar and Calheta will be the highlights of our 4x4 tour.

What makes my tour different is that it is truly personal and flexible. I am not a big company, there is no fixed script and no rushing from place to place. It is just me, sharing the Madeira I know from living here and exploring these trails for years. We choose the hike together based on your level, interests and mood — peaceful levada, dramatic mountains, coastal scenery or forest magic. I always try to avoid the busiest times and crowded groups, so you can enjoy nature in a calm and authentic way. Instead of spending half the day picking up strangers in hotels, we go straight to the trail, start early and enjoy the silence of the morning. After the walk, we explore the area: viewpoints, small villages, cafés, and hidden spots that most visitors never see. It feels more like hiking with a local friend than joining a tour. Entering the island through narrow, sloping streets between enchanted terraces to rediscover valleys and breathtaking landscapes, using old roads on our island to rediscover the island as a local and to see places where some locals have never been. Here is your opportunity to discover the best of Madeira. We start our tour by visiting Pico do Areeiro, one of the highest peaks in Madeira. We continue our journey along the rural paths of Ribeiro Frio, making a brief stop at a local bar where we show off our traditional Poncha (optional). We continue the tour along the agricultural roads that take us off-road through the Laurissilva forest to Santana, where we take a break to try the local cuisine (lunch) and get to know its culture, such as the Santana houses. We resumed our walk, along the old roads to Miradouro do Guindaste. We continue to the easternmost point of the island, Ponta de São Lourenço, ending our trip back to Funchal.

We continue our journey along the rural paths of Lugar de Baixo, along traditional agricultural roads that take us off-road through the Laurissilva forest to the Paul da Serra plateau. We make a brief stop at a local bar where we show off our traditional Poncha (optional). We continue to Fanal, where we stop to observe its natural park, where we can find centuries-old trees, its fauna and flora. Continuing our tour, we head to Porto Moniz, where we take a break to try the local cuisine (lunch), and take advantage of the natural pools for a brief swim (optional). We resumed the tour, passing through places such as Ribeira da Janela, Ribeira Funda, Seixal, places with a lot of Madeiran culture, natural beaches, waterfalls, etc. Ending our trip returning to Funchal.

This is a Levada walk whose beauty amazes us all along the trail. We start at the Queimadas guest house, heading west through dense, emerald green vegetation that leads us to Caldeirão Verde. Along the Levada, the landscapes are spectacular, we are surprised by beautiful villages at the foot of the valleys, by a waterfall, and by tunnels that we must cross, until we finally reach the majestic waterfall of Caldeirão Verde.
