In advance you will be contacted to schedule the package with you. Pickups will be made at hotels located in Funchal and Caniço at no extra cost. It is possible that minor delays may occur due to traffic. During the excursions the driver gives historical and cultural information of the places to visit, making some short stops on the way for the visitor to be able to contemplate the beautiful sights and monuments taking some pictures. We started this tour to the eastern area of the island with a visit to the Christ King in Garajau, We cross the Villa do Porto da Cruz, a region known for the production of some of the wine in the region, continuing towards the city of Santana where it has the famous houses with roofs. After lunch at Faial we started the mountain climb towards Ribeiro Frio where we visited the trout vineyard and took a small walk along the Levada dos Balcões. We continue the journey to one of the tallest peaks of Madeira with 1810 m, the Pico do Arieiro. Visit the Câmara de Lobos following Cabo Girão with 580m high, famous for its platform suspended in glass, Ribeira Brava, Ponta de Sol. What a great day

Tobias was an excellent driver, really safe and a font of knowledge. We agreed what we were doing on the day as we set off and enjoyed lovely levada walks, great views and lots of other thing. Sadly the weather was far from great whichcurtqiled the off road component bit we still managed a good 20-30 mins which was fun. All in all a good day out😀

Fantastic! I recommend

Our guide/driver was fantastic. Knowledgable, friendly and keen to give us the most out of our experience. Pack for all weather conditions and bring lots of water! Only negative thing to note is the car did break down at the end of the trip and the company arranged to have us picked up. This experience was the highlight of the trip and such a great way to see Madeira and avoid driving around the tight and steep roads.

The Perfect Way to Experience the Island

We had an incredible experience on this tour and couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Edgar was fantastic—his extensive knowledge of the island really brought every stop to life. He shared so much insight about the history, culture, and natural surroundings, which made the whole journey even more meaningful. One of the highlights was exploring the western side of the coast. The scenery there is absolutely breathtaking, from the dramatic cliffs and unique rock formations to the lush landscapes and beautiful waterfalls. Edgar made sure we had plenty of time to take it all in and never felt rushed. Visiting the Porto Moniz natural swimming pools was another unforgettable part of the tour. The setting is stunning, and it was such a unique experience to see and enjoy these natural formations up close. Overall, this tour exceeded our expectations. Edgar’s passion, professionalism, and deep knowledge made it truly special. Highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the island in a memorable and enriching way!

The Porto Moniz saltwater pools are open year-round, entry is by paid ticket.
Some of the pools are wheelchair accessible and there are disabled changing facilities.
Take the nearby Achadas da Cruz cable car to access the beautiful Fajã da Quebrada Nova, cut off from the rest of the island by mountains.
There are many hiking trails to be explored nearby; if you go hiking remember to wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring water and sunscreen.
