What are people saying about Krakow

An exellent tour of Auschwitz Birkenau
It was a very moving, somber and informative experience. We had booked the tour with Hello Krakow and our guide, Hubert, was amazing. We were very impressed with his extensive knowledge and his way of communicating the horrible events of the Holocaust. He showed great empathy and compassion. We warmly recommend both Hello Krakow and especially Hubert.

Eye opening experience visiting Auchwitz and Berkenau
The tour was organised very well from pick up to drop off. Although we didn't order the lunch, the ones that did order them said they were very good. The driver was good and kept us informed of the plans and timings.
The tour itself was very informative and eye opening. It is hard to imagine the horrors, atrocities and experiences that took place less than 100 years ago! Emotions were high after the tour.
Constructive criticism is that during the Berkenau part of the tour, it would be useful to have had the headsets and headphones to listen to the guide as we couldn't hear him very well and he was making a start with giving information without the whole group being present. But we have been informed that due to infrastructure, they are unable to accommodate this request at the moment. But to note: it did not take away from the experience.
We felt that during the Auchwitz part of the tour, our tour guide, Lucasz, was very good with his knowledge, timing and keeping the group engaged, however, we did feel rushed by the group behind us as they were not waiting their turn to enter the same places we were in. He managed to work around this so that we could still understand the impact of the area we were in.

Bring tissues...
This was a humbling, sad, but informative tour. My father has a hard time getting around and the tour guides were patient and went above and beyond to ensure my father was comfortable. It is a tour that I will never forget, such a memorable experience on so many levels.

Stunning views!
We visited on one of the hottest weekends in June and I was concerned that it was going to be a bad idea 38 degrees going to the mountains and thermal baths I shouldn't of worried. The mountains were beautiful and thermal baths so refreshing even with the water being 32-38 degrees will definitely visit again, the only disappointment was travelling to and from guide Fabiana was lovely but the mini bus was too hot and he wasn't very free with the air con and had to be told by a lady who said she was going to faint.

Shakes one to the core
Incredibly moving. A must see so we never forget and never repeat this civilizational stain on humanity. Our tour guide was fantastic. It only was she extremely well informed, but I can’t imagine the emotional toll she must have to endure to repeat the stories every day for each group.

100% recommend
Really good day trip. We had Kacper as our guide and he was really good. Beautiful scenery in that part of Poland and the stops were all really worthwhile - I especially enjoyed the vodka before 11am! Good value for money and the organisation was really good - all the required passes and wristbands were provided. Beware. - there are loads of these trips advertised and not all include entry to the cable car and springs - book carefully. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone interested. Hope you get Kacper as your guide!

Highly Recommend Tour!!!
This experience was exceptional! The driver, Michael, was very accommodating and knowledgeable! The van ride was pleasant to Auschwitz. The guide, Kasia, was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour very memorable and efficient with the both sites. We highly recommend this tour!

Great tour for our Group
Our Catholic pilgrimage had an itinerary change and were not going to be going to Auschwitz after all, so we booked this for our free afternoon/evening. It was very convenient to be picked up at the hotel & the price was reasonable. Our guide at the camps was very informative and we really felt like we learned new information from him.

A very well organised day
A really memorable day out.
The driver Piotr was very good and was very clear in all the necessary instructions.
Firstly we visited the salt mine in Wieliczka. It is well organised so groups do not bump into each other. There was a lot of walking.
The visit to Auschwitz - Birkenau was also well organised. Guide Gosia was excellent. Here too the groups were well organised so you never felt like the visit was crowded. Extremely memorable though very sad to see where so many people died. It is so important to have an excellent guide for this part of the excursion. We were very lucky.
I would strongly recommend booking through Viator. They work with Krakow Direct.

An Amazing Adventure with Mr. Szymon
It was truly a great and unforgettable adventure with Mr. Szymon. He was very friendly and approachable. He took the time to explain everything about the places we visited on the way to Zakopane.
One of the best memories was stopping at the Bacówka – the traditional shepherd’s hut. The smoked cheese was absolutely delicious, and the vodka was even better!
In Zakopane, Mr. Szymon shared interesting insights and recommended some excellent restaurants. On our way back, the views were simply breathtaking.
The whole experience was absolutely worth it, especially with Mr. Szymon as our tour guide. Thank you for such a wonderful day!

Stairs were down. Site was beautiful.
The mine was educational, artistic, and beautiful. All but approximately 10 steps were going down. The floors were not slick. However, it definitely is a lot of walking. The guide was very good. It was great getting picked up in front of our hotel. The driver was very nice.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Well-connected by road and public transport, Krakow is a perfect launch point for discovering other towns and cities in Poland. While you could set out on your own, booking an excursion that takes you around the country will help relieve the stress of planning. Day trips from Krakow include World War II-related sites—such as a former Nazi-operated concentration camp—and a UNESCO World Heritage-listed salt mine. It’s also possible to discover outstanding mountain scenery with a visit to the resort town of Zakopane in the Polish countryside, followed by a soak in the healing waters of a thermal bath complex.
