Both my wife and I were extremely happy with our first exposure to Turkish bath. We bought the Ottoman package for its completeness. The cost is rather high when I compare with other experiences in Budapest, Thailand and Hong Kong. But the environment of Cağaloğlu is unique.
Regarding the service, my wife was very happy with Mekel (?) for her gentle and caring manner. She enjoyed it much more than I anticipated. The tellak handling me was Erdal. His treatment was more on the macho side. It was fun and very enjoyable.
As it was our first time to the Cağaloğlu, as tourists we bought very little cash with us and very few personal items as the staff of Cağaloğlu keeps telling us that they will provide everything. And they did. As a result I regret for not having enough cash to tip Erdal and Mekel.
I bet I will return and request the same service by them in my next trip to Istanbul.

I brought my daughter here for her first real spa experience and it was unforgettable. It didn’t feel like strangers working on our bodies. It felt like having 2-3 bigger sisters guiding us through the ultimate girl experience. I highly recommend the highest package. We were gifted treats, body products, and towels in the end. Must do Istanbul experience! I visited this Hamam 24 years ago, and returned this year to share the experience with my daughter. Everything was very well explained, and despite the language barrier, all the ladies were very patient and gave clear instructions. A pricey treat, but well worth it.

We had never been to a Hamam before...and now we're sold for life. It's a bit of a twist on a typical spa experience, with focus on the bathing process.
The Cagologlu Hamam experience offered here is superlative. One of the oldest and best hamams in the city, this traditional Ottoman Hamam offers the full works. We had booked a 120 mins experience with the sauna, exfoliating, bathing, oiling, foot massage and collagen masks and were left aching for more of this most pleasurable odyssey.
Our therapists, Berna and Ayse for my daughter and Yulis and Bela (who sang old Hindi film songs for me🥰) were amazing.
As my daughter said, this is a new addiction!

We didn’t know what to expect about our first Turkish bath. We were so happy with the experience. It was the best! Our therapists/bathers were so professional and thorough. We had a fabulous time at the Hamam, so clean, so caring, so professional…. Our treatment was at 5pm , what we did not realise was there was a restaurant attached to the hamman which we initially thought would be a tourist rip off and although more expensive than your average restaurant was totally worth it for the food, service and ambiance, finished off the whole istanbul experience … wonderful .

I would entirely recommend this service. I booked the basic service and a massage afterwards. The staff wasn’t extremely polite. The spa was gorgeous. The services were good however, my only recommendation is I requested a deep tissue massage and the pressure was not enough. However, the staff Was very sweet and accommodating. I would go back.

This experience should not be missed on your trip to Istanbul. The Hamam is one of the oldest in Istanbul and brimming with history. The place runs like a well-oiled machine from the reception area to the final snack area in the restaurant. Baking on grey-blue marble, being covered in thick warm bubbles, doused with water of varying temperatures, receiving a thorough scrubbing, eating numerous small snacks, and a final massage - what is not to like? Wonderful. Our children, ages 9 and 11, loved the experience too.

It was such an incredible experience to go to this Hamam while visiting Istanbul. I appreciated that women and men were separated and had "same sex" masseuses. Everything was clean, well run, professional, and a wonderful opportunity. If I lived in Istanbul, I would go here regularly. They have a small corner with their products for sale. This was a lovely chance to try something culturally different. Taking a shower at home won't cut it after this experience!
