Roadtrip to Madeira mountains
This is a roadtrip to the area surrounding Funchal in a jeep. You will be seated in the back of a jeep: and need to be able to climb into and out of it. The position can be uncomfortable if you have knee pain or other leg issues , definitely not good for customers with mobility issues. The road trip was a lot of fun as you travel inland thru roads, narrow streets, up steep slopes and eventually off-road thru a forest! We enjoyed our tour of Madeira! Wish there was more information with the trip, like data about the island and since when it was inhabited, etc.

Great way to see Funchal and surrounding area!
Tiago was waiting for us right outside our ship on the quay. He asked us if we had any where that we wanted to see, we told him that we would leave that to him. The weather was not great so a trip into the mountains was not worth it as the visibility was terrible. Tiago made the best of it and took us on a lovely tour of the Funchal and Lido area. All in all would highly recommend this tour.

Funchal Walking Hidden Insights
I highly recommend doing a walking tour when you visit a new city to really get a feel for the history and learn the little secrets that as a tourist you would be unaware of. It adds to the richness of your visit and this tour ticked all the boxes. Thankyou Dulcie for your informative, engaging tour. Nat and I really appreciated your deep knowledge of Funchal (Fennel 😁)
We highly recommend when you visit this beautiful island, thank you 🙏

Loved our full day tour!
The charm of Madeira was evident from the first stop for coffee to the last glance at the sea at the end of the day. Taking us to mountaintop vistas with panoramic views by Jeep was an experience that had been so much fun! Madeira has so much to see that we were glad that this tour included the famous UNESCO Fanal forest and the beautiful black sand beaches with amazing natural pools. We loved our authentic lunch and fellow tourists, too! We would give our tour guide Eduardo (Eddy) and our full day adventure more than 5 stars if we had the chance! Loved it all!

Great way to see highlights of Madeira's Southwest and North Coast
A great way to see and experience the highlights of Madeira's Southwest and North coasts. Multiple stops at incredible vistas, a traditional market, the Fanal Forest, a north shore seaside town for lunch and an optional swim before two stops to view the North Shores highlights (rock formations and waterfalls) along with the famous black sand beach before heading back to Funchal.
And our driver Dinarte filled the windshield time with many interesting facts about Madeira's people, the food, agriculture and small interesting facts.
Gus small can is extremely comfortable for 8 guests - and very comfortable for the drive back to Funchal at the end of the day.
We really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it!

Highly recommend
Absolutely the best experience. Diogo has an amazing local knowledge and the taxi was so clean. The weather was changeable and he was able to amend the tour to ensure we saw everything but in a different order. He had great recommendations for things to eat. Everywhere we went there was the chance for a toilet break if needed and the whole day felt very chilled and relaxed.

Benthams on tour
It’s a busy day, hopping on & off the coach, made more annoying for us by the inclement weather.
Our guide Renato made the tour all the more enjoyable owing to his extensive knowledge of the flora on the island.
The day was very varied, despite having to change our route & employ plan b. A thoroughly enjoyable day.

Unforgettable Day
John is an incredible guide. So positive and fun. He asked us what we wanted to see and then developed our tour around it. We were able to see so much that we would have not been able to access otherwise. So grateful for such a special day! Thank you!

This is an amazing tour...
This is an amazing tour to visit this area of Madeira without having to get stressed driving around. Our tour guide Mr Dino is exceptional full of knowledge about the area as well as an amazing kind individual.
I have a disability, I have difficulty walking he made me feel very welcome, helped me all the way and I had an amazing time when I was so worried about it previously. Thank you, Mr Dino

Incredible
What a fantastic trip, we saw bottle nose dolphins to start which was nice. Then the real excitement began when we saw a sperm whale breach in the distance, our driver sped in that direction and we were lucky enough to see a breach not more than 3m from our boat which was incredible.
Next there was a sperm whale swimming basically under our boat, she came up spyhopping to check us out before her calf came over as well, they were so close we could have touched them, it was incredible.
The passion and excitement showed by both our captain and the marine biologist was infectious, they were both so knowledgeable and so in awe of these awesome animals 100% would recommend

Breathtaking landscapes
Our jeep tour was amazing. Nico, our driver made it fun and memorable. It was nice to have a few group pictures of us in the jeep. Everywhere we went, Madeira’s landscape was incredible to take in and breathtaking. I would recommend this tour! Thank you for the special memories

10/10 you have to do this hike!
David was a gentleman, very knowledgeable, a great and safe driver, accommodating of everyone’s needs and abilities. We captured a phenomenal sunrise and Pico do Aeiro and managed to beat 90% of the crowds for a very enjoyable experience. We couldn’t complete the PR1 trail as it’s partially closed due to wildfires, however we did not lose out.
After descending, David took us to a beautiful village for a nice coffee before driving us to complete the remainder of the trail to climb Pico Ruivo -PR1.2
Incredible views and experience. Everywhere we looked was a “wow”. The trail was moderate. Would recommend good footwear - boots ideally or good hiking shoes. The pathway is excellent but it’s very undulating and when you’re tired it could be easy to roll an ankle.
We stopped at the cafe on top of Pico Ruivo for a quick refreshment and toilet break before climbing the last 500m to take it 360 views of Madeira, above the clouds.
Finally, after descending, David took us to Santana to see the traditional A-framed local houses from times gone by, before returning us safely to our accommodation.
10/10. Highly recommend. David was punctual, knowledgeable, kind, and a fantastic experienced local guide.
