I was traveling for a conference and had only a short time to try and experience a little of South Africa beyond the conference center. I was picked up on time (8:15am) and back at my hotel by 2pm with plenty of time to spare before my evening flight. Beautiful views and a great guide named Sedick.
Lovely day out seeing exactly what we wanted to see. Kevin, our private tour guide, always seemed to know when the best time to visit each site, avoiding the crowds as much as possible. Kevin spoke good English, was very knowledgeable and a safe driver.
Angel was amazing! She took us on a full day private group tour around the Penninsula. She was so accomaditing with stopping for pictures, wanting to stay or leave earlier, and took us to fun stops. She had great recommendations for lunch and dinner later on in our trip. We had an excellent day with her and I highly suggest doing this tour.
We had an amazing experience hiking Lion’s Head with Idrees as our guide. He picked us up directly from our hotel and made the entire experience seamless from start to finish.
Idrees was incredibly encouraging and patient, especially near the top when the heights became a bit intimidating. He made us feel safe and confident every step of the way. Along the hike, he shared fascinating insights about the surrounding landscapes, plant life, and local ecosystem, which made the experience even more meaningful.
On the way down, he told us about the history of Cape Town and his own experiences growing up in South Africa, which added a really personal and memorable touch to the day.
Idrees is an exceptional guide and we can’t recommend him highly enough!
Table mountain was absolutely stunning well worth aI visit.
The Cape of Good Hope was fantastic too we did the 30 minute walk across from the lighthouse quite easy going until the decent to the car park I don’t like walking down steep steps/slopes.
Bolder beach was good too but far too hot to just stand n look at the penguins.
Incredible experience with the most amazing people!
Absolutely incredible experience! Enjoyed every second of it! The team were super friendly and accommodating from the beginning especially with a last minute change to my pick up which saved my whole trip! Joseph was an incredible guide who made the whole experience so enlightening and warming! I 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a magical and unforgettable experience in Cape Town! Thank you so much!
I can’t stress enough how wonderful this tour is. It’s truly a must for anyone visiting Cape Town. The fact that it’s a private tour makes the experience even better, as it allows you to be flexible and explore at your own pace. Best of all was our guide, Ferdinand. He is kind, knowledgeable, and a very good driver, which made the whole day enjoyable. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience, I would definitely repeat it!
The history of South will be incomplete without the mention of Robben Island. From the explorer's Station to the Prison of both civil crimes and later on to Political opponents. The Island was once considered a place of no escape, but now we can talk of professional swimmers crossing over for the Good Course (charity). History can help us to be more human. The scars can be very massive and be seen from thousand miles away, but it should not be paining. And that what we call healed healers. Mandela had a big heart.
We were on our 2nd day of a cruise. Pick up was offered by the tour operator which we accepted. However the ship is berthed within a 10 minute walk to the start point at the Robben Island Museum. So if you do not have any difficulty with walking I would suggest making your own way there. The trip itself was an excellent experience with an ex prisoner and the ex guard and subsequent good friend of Nelson Mandela were there to tell us about the place.
It was a fabulous tour. The guide was amazing and the location is breathtaking. It was quite a workout to do the two separate hikes - which are both totally worth it - but make sure you wear tennis shoes or hiking boots and clothes that you can move in. Such a fun tour!
My partner and I truly enjoyed our experience at the wineries. We got picked up from our hotel and the drive was a pleasant one. Both wineries had their own unique style but were a great experience. We especially enjoyed Fairview. It was also great to do it at the time of day that we did (1pm) and to only do 2 wineries so it wasn’t overwhelming and we could enjoy both winery locations. Would absolutely do this tour again in the future.
It was a fun experience and the dunes are gorgeous! We got lucky and the rest of the tour didn’t show up so it was just me and my friend. There were also no other tours around which allowed for a great ‘just us’ experience.
We tried sandboarding as well. It was tough! I do wish thought we could sandboard as part of the ATV experience. We left our bikes and had to walk to and from sandboard place which, in sand and 30C, is not fun.
Cape Town’s coastline, culture, and Table Mountain backdrop make it tempting to stay in the city, but there are a whole host of adventures to be had if you venture out. Whether heading to the Cape of Good Hope or Robben Island, taking a wine tour through Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, or spotting wildlife on safari, it’s all within easy reach. Along with expert guides and entrance fees, many tours include a delicious lunch stop, usually with a view, making Cape Town day trips the ideal way to experience the history, natural wonders, and wildlife reserves of the region.
