Itinerary

Begin your helicopter tour of Cape Town with a pickup from your hotel. At the V&A Waterfront, climb into your helicopter and settle in for an exciting ride, while your pilot provides informative commentary on what you’re seeing below.

As you gain altitude, one of the first things you’ll see is Cape Town’s City Bowl from above. The natural amphitheater is framed by the impressive mountains that help define the city—Table Mountain and Lion’s Head among them.

Soar over Cape Town Stadium, one of the host venues for the 2010 World Cup, and then circle Table Mountain for an unforgettable view of the landmark from all sides. From this lofty vantage point, it’s easy to see the patchwork of colors that nature has made—the greens and browns of Table Mountain and Signal Hill Mountain next to the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean.

Fly past Lion’s Head and along the Atlantic coast, where—if it’s clear—you may even be able to see Robben Island in the distance. Look for the mountain range known as the Twelve Apostles, which runs along the Atlantic coast of the Cape Peninsula. Spot the pretty white-sand beaches, including those at Camps Bay, Clifton Beach, and Llandudno Beach — all popular beach resort towns.

Continue past Karbonkelberg Mountain before flying over Hout Bay Harbour, and then—after about 18 minutes of flying time—head back toward the helipad at the V&A Waterfront to end your exhilarating tour.

Truly a Must Do

Truly a must do. The views of Cape Town from the helicopter are second to none. Plenty of time in the air even though it’s a 20 minute trip. The group was flexible with us and allowed us to come early the day of and take an earlier flight so we could make our lunch reservation. The check in process was seamless and the pilot was kind and provided some talking points of what we were seeing during the flight.

Proof Humans Can Fly When Wallets Are Light Enough

Amazing views of Cape Town from above! If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to be a very nervous seagull, this is the tour for you. The whole ride was about 15–20 minutes — basically the length of one good panic attack — but wow was it gorgeous up there. I would 100% do it again because bucket lists don’t cross themselves off. There are longer flights available, so if you want more time pretending you’re in a Mission Impossible movie (minus Tom Cruise and the stunts), definitely go for one of those. 10/10 views. 7/10 duration. Would recommend — especially if gravity has ever personally offended you. 😄✈️🌍

Unfortunately, it is very disappointing when a flight is carried out even though you cannot see anything of Cape Town due to clouds..I took so many helicopter flights around the world and when there is bad weather the operator always canceled the flight. What a waste of time and money here.

Bad decision by tour operator

The tour operator took another couple on the same ride with the two of us. This resulted in one person having to sit in a middle seat in the second row. It was not as good of an experience because the views were obstructed.
