What are people saying about Bologna

Fun family activity
A really fun few hours with the great host Luca who was a really friendly and engaging activity leader. It was lovely to come away with recipes to have an attempt at home. Great to make our own lunch which was delicious with a very generous selection of drinks included. Great value with food and drink included and we were not rushed - probably nearer 4 hours in total.

Best pasta you will ever eat! And you made it yourself!!!
We spent a fabulous, fun and delicious day with our amazing hosts Silvia and Marco Donatini on the outskirts of Bologna and couldn't recommend them more highly!
Silvia was endlessly patient with our enthusiastic but fumbled attempts at creating our pasta and Marco was our fabulously ebullient host!
Three delicious pastas made lovingly by hand before we sat under an outdoor pergola with wine and sunshine to enjoy the fruits of our labour. Genuinely hard to go past as a fun experience!
Our sincere thanks to Silvia and Marco for opening their home to us! A real highlight of our time in Bologna!

The best of Bologna
We usually try to do cooking classes when we travel. None has been better than Pastamamma! Grazia gave us an unparalleled experience in Bologna. We booked a lunchtime class on the Saturday before Easter Sunday. Grazia's place was easy to find and get to and her communications were excellent (as is her English. She also speaks French.) Grazia provided all the ingredients and, of course, the expertise. It wasn't long before we were rolling out dough and creating our own tagliatelle! Ditto for wonderful tortelloni filled spinach and cheese. We had wine, ate soup...oh, and her Bolognese gravy is to die for. We especially loved the stories she was able to tell us about her life in Bologna and other places. She was so warm and we felt like we made a new friend. Don't hesitate to book this wonderful class with this classy, wonderful woman.

Best Cooking Class Experience
AMAZING-MUST DO! This was our best cooking class experience. Falminia and Chef Elizabetta were so lovely and welcomed us into their home like family. This experience includes transportation from Bologna up into the green hills to their beautiful property. The views are breathtaking. Falminia gave us some history of Bologna on the drive. The class is held in their updated personal kitchen. Chef Elizabetta taught us how to make 2 pastas Tortelloni stuffed with cheese and Tagliatelle with tomatoes and onions, from scratch. You can just tell she enjoys teaching her recipes to others. Then, we ate outside on the beautiful grounds. Everything was so delicious! Falminia & Elizabetta are wonderful hosts and make the whole experience special. We would do this experience again. You will not find anything else so personal and enjoyable. Thank you so much for such an amazing time.

Delicious Experience
The cooking class experience was spectacular. My husband and my son (13 yr old) really loved it too. Claudia and Francesca were extremely hospitable and knowledgeable about their craft. The pasta we made turned out delicious too. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Bologna. 😋😄

Wonderful cooking experience with a local!
We are a family of 4, two adults and 2 kids and we had a wonderful experience with Paola. It was so nice to spend time with a local host in a genuine local experience (as opposed to generic tourist trap experience). Our meal was lovely and Paola's home is beautiful (a 30 min walk from the market for tour meeting spot or a shorter bus ride). 12 days in Italy and Paola's cooking experience has been their #1 favorite!

5/5 ⭐️ super fun and delicious for all ages!
This was such a fun class! The kids absolutely loved the process of making the dough, rolling it and shaping the various pasta. tiramisu Was amazing. A little different technique to the dish and it was better than I thought! My kids don’t like coffee but they loved this so much. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone with or without kids. It was fantastic.

Wonderful experience in a genuine home kitchen!
Wow!! This is exactly the experience we were seeking. Pasta making class in a local home in Bologna. This is not a fancy class in a commercial kitchen - rather, it is a down to earth home kitchen with an expert pasta maker who does this for her family every day. She shared stories of how she learned to make pasta as a child, while showing our 2 & 6 year old children how to make their first pastas (tortellini, bowtie, and tagliatelle).
Our son has a severe allergy to pistachio and cashew, and our host made sure every ingredient was confirmed safe. Made us feel very comfortable!!
The pasta was delicious, and we shared the experience with some cool fellow travelers. It was fun to be in her home while her family went about their day. Her husband was our waiter, serving us local wine, along with still and sparkling water, while replacing our dishes and utensils with each meal. It was a better experience than some of the restaurants we visited.
We highly recommend!!

The most amazing cooking experience!!
Veronica provided one of the best highlights of our multi-city tour in Italy. She invested so much time in sharing her knowledge of both cooking and the city of Bologna. There were four of us and she made us feel like we were all dear friends by the end of our time together. Also, she was very patient with us and our meal turned out perfect! I learned new techniques from Veronica and we ate every last crumb of the meal we all made. 5 stars and would highly recommend!

We booked a pasta and...
We booked a pasta and tiramisu class through your company, however when we arrived our hostess instructed us that we were making lasagne. 2 other travellers also joining the group were also expecting the pasta and tiramisu class. On contacting Cesarine we were told that we had signed up for the lasagne class - it was worded in small print under the Pasta and Tiramisu heading. Very misleading!
We have nothing but praise for our hostess Olga, who was patient and kind with us. Thank you for a lovely lunch!

Absolutely the Best!!!
My wife and I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. If we could give it more than 5 stars, we would!! Irene was absolutely fabulous as a host and teacher. Her patience and encouragement of our efforts made the experience so much fun and the lunch that followed was absolutely delicious as we ate the fruits of our labours. The bolognese sauce we had with tagaliatelle was absolutely delicious, far better than what we had the previous evening at a restaurant. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough if you want an authentic experience on your visit to this beautiful city! Thank you, Irene, we can’t wait to try out our new pasta making skills once we get home!

Wonderful teacher, spoke...
Wonderful teacher, spoke good English and the location was nice in a room so it was quiet. She gave thorough details on each step. It was a lot of fun even for my husband and dad that don’t cook! The results were amazing, best lasagna I’ve ever had and really good gelato!
