This is a combined local Anchorage history and ebike tour. The ebikes ensure a pleasant and relaxing ride covering a large swath of Anchorage city. You will be guided on a tour through Anchorage's history, from pre-colonization through the present era. Along the "way" we'll cover Anchorage's history as a tent city labor camp to the aviation hub to the military buildup in World War II and through the oil-boom of the 1980s. The bike tour will mostly be along Anchorage's scenic greenbelt trails, including the Coastal Trail. Amazing experience!

This excursion was amazing! We had one day in anchorage and wasn’t sure if we should do this because it would take up most of the day and was 2 hrs away, but I’m so glad we chose this. It was my husband and our three teenagers and this was all of our favorite activity of our whole week in Alaska. Lori was our guide and went above and beyond in everything. She even helped us pick our dinner after the excursion and dropped us off there. The hiking on the glacier was incredible. It was an amazing experience and evey step went smoothly. Would highly recommend!

If you want to be treated like family vs just another tourist, this is the tour for you. Staff was friendly and the pilot/tour guide Wes did an amazing job, giving my husband and I a personal excursion. He asked what we wanted to do and see and then delivered. Fabulous!!

Absolutely fabulous! It was a perfect 60* day and sunny. Gideon was our musher, very knowledgeable and personable. Sat in the front seats of the helicopter with fabulous views of the trip to the glacier and back. After meeting the puppies and cuddling them, we jumped on our sled and off we went! Fabulous! Have I said fabulous enough?? Highlight of our two month trip to Alaska. Do it.

If you have a day in Anchorage, I highly recommend this excursion with Alaskan Sights and Bites. Chris was an outstanding host. We had a family of 12 take the tour and Chris made it 13. Very personable like he was part of the family and treated us the same. Very informative about his native Alaska and the tour itself was terrific. Just the right amount of time spent hiking the glacier with another informative guide. The glacier hike was followed by a terrific lunch with views of the glacier. All in all an outstanding day in the Anchorage area. As a large group, Chris also picked us up directly at our hotel which was a bonus. Alaskan Sights and Bites were also excellent in communicating with me, answering questions I had prior to our trip. Very highly recommended.

Portege glacier wildlife rescue tour

The tour was excellent! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It is a long drive to and from the portage glacier, I was glad I had a water bottle and my own snacks. Boat tour was great. Loved the wildlife rescue and our tour guide drove us to different areas to see the animals, we were thankful for that as it would have been a lot of walking to the different enclosures.

Our trolley tour driver was amazing! She was very nice, kind, and welcoming from the moment we got on. The tour provided an excellent overview of what the greater Anchorage area has to offer. The tour description is accurate. I loved the nature and wildlife stops particularly. We lucked out with an up-close (but safe) moose sighting, for which we made an unplanned—but much appreciated—stop at Potter Marsh. I would’ve liked more time at the AWCC, but enjoyed the time spent. The lunch took more time than expected but was very good.

Worth the money!

Words can’t describe how incredible this experience was! Aaron was a great pilot (and photographer) and took us to 3 amazing spots that we could not have gotten to on our own. We got to walk around in each location and decide how long we wanted to spend at each. We chose to spend most of our time on the glacier, which was a blast to walk around with spikes on our shoes. Bring a water bottle to drink some glacier water! I definitely think the value was worth the price. We were a couple in the helicopter alone with the pilot and each spot had no one there. Do it!!!
