Excellent Way To Tour Palermo

Fabrizio, our tour guide was amazing. He was knowledgeable, very easy to understand, and did an excellent job showing us the sites and explaining the history. Just make VERY sure there are no reports of extreme hot weather/fires, etc. We were on a cruise and the fires on the roads from Palermo to Catania closed the roads, so our bus ride back to Catania took seven hours instead of two, which means we missed our ship leaving the port for two days. Other than that, the tour itself was amazing!

Our guide took us around the city and explained what life was like before the prosecution of the mafia and after. It’s an important part of Sicilian history to learn that is often glamourized, but this revealed how it affected (and still affects) average people.
