Itinerary
After pickup from Tulum you’re transferred to the sweat lodge where your ceremony takes place with a small group. If you opt for a personalized experience with your private party, your tour includes round-trip transport from your hotel.
Begin around the fire with an introductory talk from the ‘temazcalero,’ a shaman who will guide you through the Maya purification ritual. Enter the temazcal and feel the heat of volcanic stones in the darkness. Aromatic herbs and resin from the copal tree, commonly used to relieve symptoms and ailments, help put you at ease and cleanse the body of negative energy.
Using mud, honey, aloe vera and refreshing teas, you’re guided through four intervals of increasing and decreasing heat accompanied by songs and musical instruments to restore curative powers.
After your session, take a cold plunge and eat seasonal fruit with provided water. You’ll be transferred back to Tulum refreshed and renewed.

I really loved this experience. It was my first time doing the sweat thing with the stones, and it was good. I felt lighter after the ritual.

Exceeded my expectations!!! We did the shared group experience. The groups were divided by language; the English-speaking group was not big so it made it easy to hear all the instructions. The actual temazcal was amazing. Yes, it was hot/steamy which I was surprised I was able to endure it (~30 min in the actual temazcal) and I’m not fit by no means. It’s an experience worth trying.

The Shaman experience was fantastic especially the steam house. Would really recommend it, however, next time I will do a private or small group. The group was too large and multi translated (english, italian, french). This forced the tour guides to summarize to keep within time limits. We missed so much information because it was rushed. Also, tour guides did not explain about location of life jackets when sending us to the cenote - and there was not safety information about depth, areas to swim in.

We booked for a specific time and for them to pick us up and they changed the time. We waited for someone to pick us up and no one showed up. We didn’t get fully refunded for their mistake so still paid for not even experiencing the session.

The product mentions that the time of pick up between 15.00 pm – 18.00 pm and depends on the location of your hotel. And you were explained that from Cancun pick up at 15.00 pm due to distance to Temazcal (2hrs and 30 min), and your hotel is located 20 min from Temazcal that’s why pick up was later.
Also, you forgot mentioned that The tour was cancelled by you 6 hrs before the experience, and you asked full refund. Due to politic of cancelation we had to charge the full penalty. But we decided to help you and refund 50% of payment, that also wasn’t mentioned in the review.

This was the worse experience! We paid $300 person for a private luxury adventure/tour and we received nothing that was luxurious. They told us it would be a commute of 1 hour but in reality over two. They car we were picked up in was not to any luxury stand or to justify a $300 ticket per person. This is shady, dishonest, business practice!

Dear customer, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, you decided not to participate in the ceremony and return to the hotel on the half-way to the tour. Sometimes they're might be traffic jams and traveling times might be extended for this reason. This is beyond our control. If you had indicated in advance that you were having an event later on then, we would have modified your pick up time. The main point of the tour is an authentic experience of the shaman ritual and connection with nature, not the luxury. Apart from that, on the platform we did not have any information that you requested a luxury car

This was an awesome experience. The guy who picked me up was so nice, he was a translator for Russian though but one we got to the site he set me up with my English translator who was awesome as well. So glad I got to experience this. The ceremony was amazing and the cenote afterwards was refreshing and the diner was excellent!

The Temazcal Ceremony was such a unique experience! I would highly recommend trying it! The tour of the Mayan village beforehand was also a nice touch - we learned how to make tortillas and also had an incredible Mayan dinner at the end of the evening. Plus, the dip in the cenote after coming out of the Temazcal felt AMAZING.

The Temazcal was truly an amazing experience. It was performed in the middle of the jungle with the guidance of two Mayan natives. He was able to explain in English the meaning of each of the 4 portals which represent the 4 elements. It was never too intense but very rejuvenating and healing. Get ready to sweat!

Commercialised version of what the ritual should be. Group of circa 30 people with 5 different language tours happening at the same time. No one seemed to know where they were meant to be and when, who the guides were etc. Pickup was 35 mins late, and not at our hotel as they initially advertised, had to get a $10 cab to pickup point. They didn't contact us to tell us they were running late or anything. The heat wasn't bad at all but some people had to bail out early due to anxiety a few times so it was really piecemeal. Not worth it at all, go for one of the smaller local ones.

Sorry to hear this experience was not what you expected; we apologies for your inconvenience.
We do pick up from hotels in Cancún, Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya but when hotel or AB&B are far away, that´s when we asigned meeting point. Since tour is shared so are the pick ups and when one delays, it delays all the rest.
Regarding the ritual itself, indeed, is not for everybody because of the heat and warm. When people want a more personal experience, we recommend a private service.
