Awesome tour, just wish there was a bit more time spent at Tulum. The cenotes are beautiful and refreshing. The guide, Said, was excellent.

Hi Kyle,
Thank you for your great feedback, we really appreciate. If you come back in Tulum, don't hesistate to ask to your guide to spend more time in the different places he is here to let you know all the sceneries of Yucatan at your pace. We are happy you enjoyed the Parque Tankah and the 3 cenotes. Take care!

Said was an absolutely amazing tour guide. We had a blast seeing the Mayan ruins and eating authentic food. The cenotes were gorgeous as well. We cannot wait to return and bring our Kids.

We had a great experience on the tour but we haven’t received the photos we purchased at the end of the day. Is there a way to contact the company directly or when can we expect to receive those?

Due to some logistical issues with our travel companions, my husband and I ended up booking a last-minute tour with Mexico Kan Tours to do some local exploring of the archaeological ruins and check out the cenotes. We were happy to get away from the beach clubs/ resorts /shopping / restaurants for a day!
We selected this tour primarily because it was one of the few last-minute options available and that it was a private tour- which meant that we didn't have to be as concerned with sharing personal space with other travelers. We all kept our masks on inside the car and we felt that everything was very cleaned and spaced out.
Iber picked us up promptly and took us on a private tour of the archaeological ruins. He had a whole backpack full of books and pamphlets of not only the ruins but of local flora and fauna. It felt like we were getting an insider's tour of the place!
After that, he drove us to Tankah where we were able to swim in 3 cenotes, explore caves w/ stalagmites/stalactites & bats, ziplined, canoed, snorkeled, and then had a delicious Mayan lunch. It was adventurous and active and we always felt safe. They only allowed one group at a time at each cenote, and the timing was perfectly spaced out. They provided plenty of filtered water and the food was fresh and delicious.
We felt like we were hanging out with a friend rather than a tour guide- Iber was very chill, friendly, and informative. His English is great, and he also spoke in Spanish to allow us to practice. We loved that this tour company is concerned about the environment and prefers to go with zero-waste options like snacks without packaging, using refillable water bottles, and we felt that Iber truly gave us some insights into what goes on below the surface of Mexico's government and environmental practices.
Positives:
-Covid precautions taken seriously
-Private tour/driver (Iber was a great guide!)
-Great combo of seeing ruins and cenotes/jungle
Negatives:
-The price of the tour was VERY EXPENSIVE- it would have been nice to have a discount for the second person rather than doubling the cost per person as everything except for the food would've been the same for one person....
-We thought the "snorkeling" would be in the ocean but it was in the cenotes... still beautiful to see the underworld of those clear waters, but not a lot of fish and other stuff to look at down there.
-The tour description said it was 8 hours, but ended up only being a little more than 6 hours (we thought there would be an additional stop at the ocean for snorkeling but we didn't read the description properly)
Overall, it was a pricey but amazing time to spend outside of the beach road in Tulum!

Hello and thank you for your review. Customer satisfaction is of our utmost importance which is why, apart from this review, we also ask all of our customers to fill in a feedback form at the end of each tour. We were delighted to read on your paper form that you had a good time and that every aspect of the tour was excellent. We were therefore a little surprised to read the negative aspect of your experience as mentioned here with regards to the cost of the tour. We are sorry to read that after such a great tour on all fronts (according to your feedback form), you were left with a negative feeling. Should you have mentioned it in your feedback form on the day or directly to your guide, we would have been happy to explain the reasons behind the cost of your tour in all transparency and offer some form of compensation. We have sent you an email on this regard but it has remained unanswered. So we will explain it here:
Although the cost of the entrances and food is individually priced, the transport, guide and other overall costs remain the same regardless of how many people go on tour. The more people go on tour the lower the price can be which is why our group tours (10 people maximum) are cheaper than our private tours.
In Private, the total amount is divided according to the total number of people. Private tour costs therefore vary according to the number of people and are more expensive than if you were to join a group. For 1 person it would have been more expensive than for 2 people for example. Our prices also reflect the importance we place on ensuring a high quality, personalised service, making sure we pay all our service providers responsibly along the way, whilst maintaining the possibility of running small group and private tours.
I hope this explanation is to your satisfaction. Please do get in touch via email should you wish to follow up on this.
