Great way to see the city and surrounding areas in a quick 4 hour tour. Included a stop at Bonbi for 45 mins, which was excellent for a quick paddle and pictures. Very well structured and informative. Recommended

Nice scenery- terrible tour and guide!

Michael_M, Jul 2026
The driver was late in picking up the group that had gathered in the park by a fountain for the tour. While waiting, we were told by guides for other tours that this guide is always late. He invited us to walk a long distance to board a bus. The tour consisted of the guide dropping us off at four locations for lengthy photo opportunities. The scenery was wonderful. The tour and information about the city was entirely lacking. Avoid this tour and take a real one!!!!

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Your review contains several factual inaccuracies and logical contradictions. First, the tour did not start late. The advertised departure time is 10:00 am, and the tour departed at 10:04 am. Waiting four minutes for guests who are running late is a reasonable courtesy and does not make a tour "always late." We ask everyone to arrive 5 minutes early precisely so we can depart on time. In an unfamiliar city, finding the meeting point can take time, and arriving a few minutes early helps prevent guests from missing the tour. There is a significant difference between being consistently late and allowing a brief, four-minute grace period for fellow passengers. The tour is 3.5 hours. It starts at 10am and concludes by 2pm, effectively 4 hours. That is more than adequate compensation for a 4-minute wait. Second, your statement that you were asked to "walk a long distance to board a bus" is simply not supported by reality. The walk is approximately 2–3 minutes. Describing that as a "long distance" is a serious exaggeration and another error in observation. We deliberately meet away from the bus because dozens of identical-looking tour buses operate in Sydney. Meeting at a visible, well-known location first ensures everyone is guided to the correct vehicle quickly and without confusion. Finally, your claim that the tour was "entirely lacking" in information ignores the nature of a group tour. Our guests have widely different interests. Some come for the scenery, others for history, Aboriginal culture, wildlife, Australian society, or local recommendations. We provide a broad range of commentary so that everyone in the group has something to enjoy. A tour cannot be tailored exclusively to one person's individual interests. Fortunately, the overwhelming majority of our guests appreciate both the extensive commentary and the organisation of the day. Your review appears to be based more on exaggeration and subjective expectations than on the actual facts.

Sydney adventure

Sharen_C, Jul 2026
A great experience at a good price. Lets you see sites you would normally not go to. A good driver with great knowledge

Great value tour

Joanne_W, Jul 2026
A great value tour, to see so much of Sydney easily with great stops for photos opps . I was on a morning tour as the afternoon was already full and it turned out much better as only a 1/4 full bus. A few stops where you can wander around and 45 mins at Bondi Beach. Martin our driver and guide was fantastic, so friendly and helpful. A bargain at $49.50.

Great way to see a lot in Sydney

Lynda_T, Jul 2026
Easy collection at the water fall. Martin is a friendly funny tour guide. Bondi Beach was our highlight

Sydney bus tour

Christine_R, Jun 2026
Overall, the Buss tour was interesting. It’s mainly for locations outside of the downtown area. It was good because it went to places we probably wouldn’t have visited otherwise. Our bus driver/tour guide had a very heavy Italian accent. It was hard to understand some of the things he said.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you found value in visiting locations beyond the downtown area that you may not otherwise have experienced. Regarding the guide’s accent, it is worth noting that there are well over 180 English accents worldwide, including the major distinction between rhotic and non-rhotic forms of English. Australians speak non-rhotic English. In a multicultural tourism environment, it is neither practical nor realistic to expect a tour guide to adapt their natural speech to multiple accent preferences. English is a global language spoken by people from a vast range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. While unfamiliar accents may occasionally require a little extra concentration, most people quickly adapt and develop an understanding of different speech patterns with a small amount of conscious effort. We appreciate your comments and are glad you enjoyed the tour overall.

Great tour !!

MARTHA_B, Apr 2026
Our tour guide was super professional, really knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. He pointed things out along the way and made sure we had time to stop and take photos at all the iconic spots, which I loved. Definitely recommend this tour!

Instructions on where to...

Joy_B, Apr 2026
Instructions on where to meet need to be more specific. Archibald fountain does not have a name and nobody knew what that fountain was called. The tour guide was late which threw us into a panic. Tour was lovely, driver very good, kind, considerate and views were outstanding BUT we could hardly understand one word of the commentary!!

It was our final day in...

Ryan_S, Apr 2026
It was our final day in Sydney, so wanted a nice easy way to get around and see the sites. This is definitely the way to do it! Got to see lots of the main attractions and had a tour guide to explain it all!

Very nice overview of Sydney in a short period of time. Let's you know where you might like to go back to. Driver gave alot of good information about each area. Where to eat and buy things.

Heavy Accent

Preston_S, Mar 2026
Bus was over crowded. The driver was from Russia and had a very heavy accent and could only understand about 1/2 of what he was saying.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

English is spoken with a wide range of accents. There are estimated to be more than 180 different English accents around the world. In many situations, if someone’s accent feels strong to you, yours may feel just as strong to them. Communication between people with different accents often takes a small, conscious effort from both sides to tune in and understand each other. Reviews like that often come from people who assume their accent = the “correct” English, which simply isn’t true. In a country like Australia, and in tourism generally, guests regularly hear guides from different English-speaking backgrounds (Australian, British, South African, Irish, etc.). Expecting everyone to sound like one country’s version of English is unrealistic.

Get driver who speaks English for an English Tour

David_F, Mar 2026
Driver/guide was for the most part unintelligible. Even though he had bus wide speakers his accent was so heavy the four persons in or group often could not understand. The sites visited were fine.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

There are an estimated 180 different English accents in the world. Expecting a tour guide to adapt their speech to match every individual listener’s preference is unrealistic. That’s not how communication works in the real world. It requires a small amount of patience and effort from the listener as well. If four people in your group struggled, yet the rest of the bus followed along, engaged, and went on to leave positive feedback for the same guide, the issue is unlikely to be the guide alone. It points to a limited exposure to different ways of speaking and a low tolerance for stepping outside familiar patterns of communication. Travel is supposed to challenge that. It’s not just about seeing places, it’s about engaging with people who don’t sound like you, don’t phrase things like you, and don’t fit neatly into your expectations. If you travel in a closed loop: same group, same conversations, same expectations, you’re not really experiencing anything new. You’re just relocating your comfort zone and expecting the world to adjust to it. The sites were fine, as you said. The experience you missed was the human one, and that comes down to mindset, not accent.

Introduction to lesser known attractions

Alexander_M, Mar 2026
It lasted about the right length of time. As well as well known attractions it added to our awareness of Sydney by introducing us to lesser known attractions

Limited bus seating

Chuck_P, Mar 2026
The tour was informative. The bus was to small, I had trouble getting my legs and knees in the seating area. The person behind me had their knees in my back. The driver was accommodating and spoke with a heavy accent, which made it hard to understand at times. The bus seating made it to uncomfortable to really enjoy the total trip.

Go to botanical garden and Bondi Beach on your own

Michelle_O, Mar 2026
Martin, the tour guide, was very nice, but extremely difficult to understand. He had a very thick Eastern European accent.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

We need to add some context here. You had a certain sickness, you mentioned it to our tour guide, and our guide made a clear effort to look after you and ensure your comfort. As for the accent: this was a multicultural tour. Expecting a guide to match a specific regional English accent is unrealistic. There are countless variations of English, and clear communication goes both ways. It takes minimal effort to understand different accents, especially in an international setting. Unfortunately, your review overlooks the care and service provided, focusing instead on something that reflects more on your expectations than on the quality of the tour.

Great tour!

Cindy_W, Mar 2026
The driver was very knowledgeable and funny. He made the tour very enjoyable! Loved the places we visited!

Great trip worth taking and good value.

Carol_A, Mar 2026
