As we were staying in the Rocks area we did this as our first introduction to Sydney. Our guide was knowledgeable, informative and gave us a great insight to the areas history from before and after the arrival of the 1st fleet. A few steps involved but not too strenuous and I would recommend it. Lovely wee cafe behind meeting point if early or afterwards.

George was knowledgeable and kept our interest throughout. He had an amazing knack of knowing and using our names, which personalized the experience. I appreciated his ability to recognize the nuances of the colonial settlement in Sydney. He also handled our questions with honesty- he even learned a few things himself!

Tour encompasses uneven surfaces, cobblestones, worn sandstone flagging stairs and steps; while these elements of the tour have never been considered to be strenuous by most people, for others this may be considered as an unsuitable activity.

Wow, this tour was incredible. We booked it for our first full day in Sydney, and so glad we did. The tour took us through hidden places we wouldn’t have known existed that we can now return to. The guide knew her city well. The history was most interesting and the friendliness of the staff, who had to direct us to the starting point was wonderful. I have knee problems and the guide made sure to direct me to the lifts when available. I took advantage of the direction. I'd like to do it again as my husband & I were in a bit of a rush so didn't thank the guide personally.

Climbing the History of The Rocks

Tour guide Anne was extremely knowledgeable about the history of The Rocks! Great job of drawing parallels with current events. Informative. Presentation delivered flawlessly - with NO notes. Anne did include sketches created during multiple eras of importance to The Rocks. None of the sketches had any notes yet Anne knew exactly which sketch was relevant to each historical period. Be prepared to walk and learn!
