We had a great day in the blue mountains. It was extremely busy but Katja did a great job at helping us find quieter spots but still see the top sights. She was very knowledgeable and so we learned a lot.

Blue Mountains on a misty day

Janet_G, Nov 2025
Jelle picked us up promptly to begin our adventure to the Blue Mountains - he was flexible in picking up the others who were elderly in the booking at their hotel and made the trip very enjoyable for everyone.

Beautiful sight sparing in friendly

Phyllis_J, Nov 2025
We enjoyed the sights very much. We only had 5 tourist and the driver. Our clocks were 1 hour back and were treated very unfriendly most of the day by the driver and the other two guest. We were 14 minutes late in our pick up. We apologized repeatedly but that did not matter. We were told that the 2 tourists and driver were going to pick up breakfast on the road but we had had breakfast. We said No we had not but the lady replied again that yes we had. That was the way she treated us for hours!!! Now 4 tourists were not up to the hicks but SHE was so we did whatever She wanted. Our driver did take us to our second excursion with Viator because it was agreed that we were asked to change our tour dates due to the driver and they would come to our hotel ( they usually do not pick us up from the hotel we were staying) so it was agreed upon with Viator due to us accommodating them they would also take us to our harbor sunset dinner cruise. Sure would have been nice to have been treated friendlier.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Dear Phyllis, We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the sights on the tour. However, we’d like to clarify a few important details for the sake of accuracy and fairness. Our team adjusted both the pickup time and itinerary specifically to accommodate your schedule, allowing you to attend your dinner cruise that same evening. Despite these efforts, you arrived more than 15 minutes late. This understandably caused frustration among the other guests, who had skipped breakfast to be on time for pickup, only to wait for your arrival. We also modified the day’s itinerary further to accommodate your physical limitations, including additional sightseeing stops not normally part of the tour and reducing the walking portions. The guest you refer to as “SHE” actually agreed to take a shorter walk than planned so that you and your companion would not be left waiting for long periods. While we always promote kindness and respect among all participants, we cannot control how other travelers choose to interact. Finally, describing our driver as “unfriendly” feels unfair, especially given that he went out of his way to rearrange the day’s schedule for your comfort and convenience. For future travel, we might suggest selecting a larger, more leisurely coach tour that emphasizes scenic stops, cafés, and light sightseeing - which may better suit your preferred pace and comfort level.

Best active / hiking tour of Blue Mountains

Kristi_G, Sep 2025
Dingo Tours is THE one to book if you want an active tour of the Blue Mountains with good hiking. I did this one last year and liked it so much I booked it again. There was an issue the night before and they weren't able to run my tour, so they booked me with a similar company at no extra cost. 5 stars to Jelle for making it easy for me. I WILL say that having done the other company now, Dingo is so much better. Others say they're active, but there's not as much hiking and the groups are bigger and you don't see as much. Just book this one. Unless you're not able to hike for a couple of hours... I'm that case, this is not the tour for you and you'll be much better off elsewhere.

Best day trip from Sydney!

Angie, Jun 2025
This was the perfect day trip from Sydney! It featured everything you want, from koalas to views! Ben was absolutely fantastic and entertaining! If you take one tour out of the city, make it this one!

wound up being only...

john_t, May 2025
wound up being only 4people-ben did a great job of tailoring experience to people on tour-including adding hike at end/running over time allotted

Amazing day!

Brittney_S, May 2025
Jelle was absolutely fantastic!! An active day climbing, hiking and a lot of steep stairs but every lookout/ end point was absolutely breathtaking and was one of our favorite days in Australia.

Well worth your day

Ray_P, Apr 2025
Ben was our tour guide. With this a small group with just one other couple he customized the trip for us. Ben was very knowledgeable about the area, native vegetation and wildlife. His humor and stories made the the trip extra special

Excellent Tour!

Jane_C, Apr 2025
Excellent action packed tour filled with breathtaking sights; hands on interaction with Australian wildlife; shared knowledge of local history and science. Our tour included lots of hiking and climbing, but it was well worth the physical exertion to see the breathtaking views. An added bonus was spending the day with our exceptional tour guide, Mark, who provided knowledge, guidance and entertainment throughout the day.

Amazing sights. Jelle was very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. Featherdale wildlife park is a great place to interact with native animals.

Amazing time!

Rachel_T, Mar 2025
Great hiking, viewing, and learning experience! Enjoyed every part of the tour. The first part was particularly special being able to see a Tasmanian devil, a variety of kangaroos and koalas, birds and many other specific to Australia animals close up!

The scenery was...

Shari_S, Mar 2025
The scenery was spectacular once the clouds cleared. The excursion had to be adapted due to weather, but Ben, our driver made the best out of a tough situation. He gave us a great history of Australia as we were driving and we stopped at a lively pub for lunch. The weather improved in the afternoon and we were able to take in the spectacular views and he even drove us back to see the Three Sisters. It was a full day and I would recommend a visit to the Blue Mountains.

Best small group Blue Mountains day tour with many Not so crowded scenic viewpoints

Nathalie_Z, Mar 2025
At first, we were a bit nervous because the tour didn’t have a lot of ratings yet, but we absolutely loved the tour. Our tour guide Ben was an excellent guide and driver was always easy to talk to and showed us a lovely place to have lunch. We arrived at the animal park so early that it wasn’t crowded and we could see the animals. After that, we walked down to the Wentworth falls. That was 1 hour of walking with lots of stairs that will give your legs a nice workout but the view is absolutely worth it- just wear appropriate shoes and Always keep one hand on the rail as it can get slippery. After climbing back up we saw another scenic view point and after that we enjoyed a delicious lunch in Lura. Next up were the three sisters and after that some more beautiful and breathtaking scenic view points that were rather secret as they weren’t crowded at all. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we thank Ben a lot for making this small group tour, an amazing experience! We definitely recommend this tour ( to everyone with a decent fitness level)

The tour we booked and...

Melanie_M, Feb 2025
The tour we booked and the tour we received were 2 very different things. The tour had listed multiple hikes, going over the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and a hour at the Featherdale Nature Park BEFORE it opened, which did not happen. We received an hour at the nature park but it was once it opened and was very crowded after 20 minutes with large groups. The longest time spent hiking was 5 minutes each way and they were simple hikes to and from vs the 1 1/2 hour guided circuits that were listed when we booked the ticket. We understand adjustments sometimes need to be made but they were not communicated. Our guide was also very new and was indecisive, asking the group how much time we wanted at different stops rather than telling us what was recommended. No one in the group wanted to speak up so it all felt very haphazard. Overall, it was not a bad trip but we booked the trip specifically for the hour at the nature park before it opened, as well as the specific hikes/guided circuits that were listed.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate both your positive comments and your constructive criticism. We understand that accommodating guests of varying abilities and interests can be challenging, especially on a tour designed to experience the beauty of the Blue Mountains up close. In this particular instance, one of our guests was not well-prepared for the level of activity described in our itinerary and, in hindsight, may not have been the best fit for the tour. That said, while a long hike is one way to immerse oneself in the natural beauty of the region, it is not the only way. Our guide did his best to find a balanced approach that allowed all guests to enjoy the experience without leaving anyone behind. In this instance, our guide consulted the group to determine the best approach, though we acknowledge that democracy doesn’t always yield the perfect outcome in a guided tour setting. We take your comments on board and will continue refining our approach. Regarding our guide, you are correct that he is newer to our team, and in this case, his inexperience may have played a role in how the situation was handled. We are actively supporting our guides to help them build the confidence and expertise needed to manage these challenges more effectively in the future. As for the crowds at Featherdale, we’re pleased that you arrived ahead of the rush, even if only briefly. While we always strive to time our visits strategically, factors such as traffic and seasonal tourism patterns—especially during Sydney’s busy summer months—can sometimes make it difficult to avoid crowds entirely. We appreciate your understanding. We’re glad to hear that you still enjoyed aspects of the tour, and we sincerely value your feedback. It helps us improve and continue providing memorable experiences for our guests.

Loved it!

Tiffany_B, Jan 2025
Katia picked us up at our hotel and gave an informed tour on the way to the Blue Mountains. We stopped at the nature preserve to pet and feed so many Australian animals roos, wombats to name a few! This was an amazing treat. We stopped at several look out spots with amazing views. Ended with a scenic hike around waterfalls in the Blue Mountain. It was the perfect day!

Excellent customer service

Brittany_L, Dec 2024
We weren’t able to do the tour with Jelle, due to the bus issues the day prior, but he went above and beyond (on Christmas Day) to get us on a similar tour with a different company. We had a great time and are super appreciative to have been able to still go!

What a Great Tour We Had!

Colleen_K, Nov 2024
Our guide Jelle took us on a great adventure which included an opportunity to see wombats, koalas, and other animals up close at the Featherdale Wild Animal Park and then we went on to the Blue Mountains for a series of stunning views and a couple of great hikes. Jelle kept us entertained in the van with lots of historical facts and legends. I highly recommend this tour. Be prepared to be tired by the end of the day!

Excellent itinerary with Yella , our guide, who was considerate and knowledgeable. The small group and avoiding busy places was the highlight! The old vehicle and lack of a suitable audio system was a disappointment.

Beautiful Blue Mountains

Edward_J, Sep 2024
The Blue Mountains are beautiful. Yella was very knowledgeable and avoided most of the crowds. The Evans Lookout hike was especially enjoyable. Only downside was a confusion over whether lunch was included.

DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR!

cindi_M, Aug 2024
The entire tour exceeded my expectations! Ben did an amazing job explaining everything, addressing all our questions, keeping us moving and on time and managing to delight us constantly with stories and demonstrations. He was patient and kind whilst also keeping us organized and maximizing our experience. The tour was well planned, interesting and informative. I would give it more then 5 stars if I could. Thank you Ben for the wonderful experience! DO NOT HESITATE TO BOOK!

A+ Customer Service

Summer_L, May 2024
This will be an atypical recommendation. I booked this trip in the low season and I was the only reservation for that day. Instead of canceling, this company worked hard to find me a similar trip with another company and literally handled everything. The customer service was top notch and I have no doubt this trip would have been great.
