Itinerary

After morning pickup at select central Sydney hotels, your small group travels in a comfortable minivan to the outskirts of Sydney. The first stop of the day is at Calmsley Hill, a working farm also home to kangaroos, emus, wombats, and koalas. Enjoy morning tea and time to wander at your leisure.

Next, travel to a lookout to enjoy sweeping views of Jamison Valley, before heading to Eaglehawk Lookout to see the famous rock formation known as the Three Sisters. Your guide shares local Aboriginal legends about the formation and shows you the best spots for photo ops.

You have the option to include a 2-course lunch at a restaurant, which features fine regional foods and sweeping views from large windows. Alternatively, your guide can recommend places to eat.

Continue exploring a number of scenic lookouts in the afternoon, including the celebrated Govetts Leap, which boasts great views of Bridal Veil Falls, a waterfall that cascades 590 feet (180 meters) down a forested cliff.

Wrap up with a walk through the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens, Mt. Tomah, where you can see more than 40,000 types of cool climate plant species from gardens that overlook the Blue Mountains.

Your tour ends with a return to Sydney in the late afternoon.

A great trip to see wildlife and explore the Blue Mountains.

Kenneth_A, Feb 2026
After you’ve done the Hunter Valley winery excursion I’ve already reviewed, you want to head west out of Sydney into the Blue Mountains. This tour takes you to multiple vantage points from which to see beautiful canyons, rock formations and waterfalls, set against a backdrop of blue mist-covered mountains created by the transpiration of millions of eucalyptus trees of their oil into the sky on sunny days. In addition you will stop at a wildlife farm just outside of Sydney, where you can walk about on your own to view kangaroos, wallabies, emu and wombats. Lunch is included midway, and is quite nice, especially the chocolate mousse. Highly recommended.

A very info packed and informative day, visiting many viewpoints as well as a farm (kangaroos and koala are just two of the animals) and beautiful botanic gardens. Good lunch at nice hotel

Solo trip recommendation

Nicole_J, Jul 2025
Great time, we had a small group so had a quiet and indefinite time with the animals along with some extra stops at the blue mountains. We all had the lunch added which I definitely recommend doing you will get quite hungry after a long day!

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you for your review! It was great to have you on board and yes, the lunch upgrade is a must, even if just for the view while you eat.

Beatiful Blue Mountains Rain or Shine!

Lisa_Y, Jun 2025
Despite the cold, rainy weather (totally out of anyone’s control), our guide did a great job making the most of the day. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and even offered to take photos for us. The Blue Mountains were stunning, though the multiple lookout stops felt a bit repetitive with similar views. One highlight was the visit to a local farm where we saw kangaroos, a koala bear, wallabies, and even got to meet some adorable joeys(baby kangaroos)! We wished we had more time there, especially to interact with the animals. We opted out of the included lunch and we’re glad we did. Others said it wasn’t worth the $60 AUD. Instead, we found a cozy café nearby with fresh sandwiches, soups, salads, and even wine -plus a cute shop to browse. Overall, not a bad trip, just a few tweaks away from being amazing! 🐨🦘🌧️⛰️

Lemonade

Mireille_C, May 2025
The weather was not on our side. It hindered the entire day’s activity. Despite the challenging circumstances, our tour guide and driver made lemonade out of lemon. He brought the group to a different site and provided some history. He is very knowledgeable. The farm with Australian animals was the highlight. Our farm guide was very kind and possessed a wealth of knowledge.

Van ride to scenic overlooks

Linden_C, Apr 2025
I was looking for a naturalist-guided tour of the Blue Mountains, but this is more of a day spent in a van with 14 other people. The stops are all scenic overlooks, lunch, or a “farm” where you can have your photo taken with a koala who just wants to be left alone. Our guide Karyn narrated the whole trip and we learned a lot about the history of the area (and her right-leaning political views). Some of the things she told us were so unbelievable I had to look them up. For example: “New South Wales averages 6 inches of rainfall per year” (it’s actually 60cm/24 inches to 120cm/47 inches) or about the dozens of spider webs on a rock wall “those are all highly venomous funnel spider webs” but when I shared photos of them with an Australian spider expert, they said that they were just house spider webs. Better safe than sorry, but I wish I had booked a tour with an actual naturalist.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Naturally we are disappointed that you felt the tour did not meet your expectations. However, at no point do we advertise our tours are led by Naturalist Guides. Perhaps if you had booked a private charter tour we could have provided a more tailored tour for you. Our tours operate in deluxe 14 passenger seat Mercedes Sprinters and incorporate a visit for native animal interaction and touring in the Blue Mountains region taking in the many scenic sights. Our guides do try to provide as much information as possible, however sometimes they may get it slightly wrong and if this has occured we do apologise. Karyn receives many 5 star reviews and is an enthusiastic guide who goes out of her way to try and ensure everyone has a great day out with us. The shared tours are designed to provide enjoyment for all of our passengers. We wish you safe travels on your onwards journey in Australia.

Blue Mountain Wildlife Tour

Beverly_Y, Mar 2025
Although we came upon bad weather (fog), and couldn’t see the Blue Mountain landscapes and The Three Sisters, but later able to see them, John, our driver/guide, was the best!!! He was an excellent improviser and kept everyone engaged. Example, when the fog was covering the scenery, he took us to a couple sites that were not on the itinerary, but personally knew about. Lunch was very good! Had Aussie meat pie and apple crisp with ice cream. After lunch, sun was coming out, and he made a decision to go back to The Three Sisters; good decision! We were able to see them and take pictures.

Amazing

James_W, May 2024
Weather was initially quite foggy but quickly cleared up about an hour into the tour and the view points were great. The tour guide John was very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a great tour and a fantastic tour guide.

Best tour

Jacqueline_B, Apr 2024
Karyn was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Loved the animals the best. This was a wonderful tour would suggest it to everyone and hopefully you will be lucky enough to get Karyn as your guide.

Beautiful

Vickie_N, Apr 2024
Incredibly amazing tour! We were able to see so much beauty. There was one part where there were 200 uneven stairs that I opted not to take. By doing that I miss the close-up of the waterfalls. Our guide was very knowledgeable and because we were all prompt back to the bus at every stop we had time to add in a little extra sightseeing. It is very expensive, but it is a fairly small group and. it was worth it. We added lunch to ours and the lunch was incredible. Try the non-alcoholic hillbilly ginger beer! Don’t go to the gift shop to buy it, as it is $10 a bottle. We saw it on the tour for $4.50.

Response from Host, Apr 2024

Hi Vickie, so great to hear you enjoyed the day with us in the Blue Mountains. the 200 stairs can be a slight workout, but well worth the reward with the waterfall lookout. I am glad that the guide allowed some extra sightseeing on the day also. We recommend the 2 course lunch option, as this is a full day tour, and our clients will need some food during the day. Our lunch venue is a highly regarded Hydro Majestic with great views. all the best

Definitely worth the trip

LuAnn_B, Mar 2024
Peter our guide was a top qualified guide. He was fun. Knowledgeable and made sure.our needs were met. The day was full of interesting places and some surprises along the way.

Response from Host, Apr 2024

Excellent Overview of Australian Wildlife and Nature

Rachel_M, Mar 2024
We had a wonderful time on this tour! It was a great way to see some of the beautiful wildlife and scenery outside of Sydney, especially since we had limited time. The weather was a bit overcast and rainy, but we still got to enjoy many of the sights. Helder was an excellent tour guide! He kept everyone engaged throughout with details about the sights, historical information about Australia, and local recommendations. He also did a great job offering alternate options when the weather shortened some of our stops.

Response from Host, Apr 2024

Thank you for leaving us a review. Helder is a relatively new, but experienced part of our team , he knows the Blue Mountains well and has the ability to get the most out of every day . thanks

Many Sights for the Price

Lothax, Mar 2024
Kathy was a lovely and knowledgeable tour guide. She kept everything smooth and we saw so many things in 8 hours.

Meh

Vicki_B, Mar 2024
A 5 star itinerary turned into a 3 star experience due to several issues-12 guests on a non Deluxe transport as billed. It was impossible to hear any commentary on board due to the whining engine, squealing brakes, shocks bouncing so badly and PA system reverb so much was lost. If you preview the menu for the restaurant on line which was lovely and excellent quality food-be advised that your options actually only included a short list of a few items so if you've preselected your lunch, most likely what is selected won't be available. While the guide was pleasant and obviously did an enormous amount of driving during the day, He did nothing to engage the group. He seemed merely a bus driver rather than a tour leader. The sights were nice and the animal Farm was excellent.

Response from Host, Mar 2024

HI we are very disappointed to read your review. We are sorry you felt that the day was not up to standards. Regarding the vehicle, regrettably we were forced to contract a vehicle in as the vehicle allocated to your tour developed a mechanical issue the day prior and we felt it was best to hire a vehicle than to disappoint our guests by having to cancel the tour. The vehicle was a 28 seat vehicle so it was certainly spacious for 12 guests - our tours do operate to a maximum of 14 guests. We are in discussions with the hire company in relation to the quality of what we were provided and we do apologise that it was not up to our normal standards. I am a little unsure as to your comments re lunch. We never offer ordering from the a la carte menu. As a tour company, we have a selected menu that is prepared by the Chef's at the Boilerhouse Cafe. This is a 2 course lunch that many of our guests find very tasty. In fact, I received this review directly this morning from some recent clients - " amazing experiences with animals, enjoyed Blue Mountains and we learnt a lot on this trip. We are so happy we took it. PS. Food was delicious 😋 We do have guests pre order lunch in order to ensure everything is served in a timely manner as we have a busy day and lots of sights to fit in. I am sorry you also did not feel you engaged with your guide.. our guides' do the best they can with all the guests on board and try hard to ensure eveyone has an enjoyable experience. The weather was stunning on Sunday so you would have seen some amazing views and it seems your experience at Calmsley Hill was also enjoyable. I do hope this addresses some of your comments and if you are ever back in Sydney we would be happy to offer you a complimentary tour on either our Blue Mountains tour or City Sights tour. Wishing you all the very best for the rest of your holiday in Australia

Disappointing

Tamara_O, Feb 2024
It was a big disappointment. That’s totally not our guide’s fault but because of the weather we saw literally nothing - all of the viewpoints were covered by fog and because of the weather conditions we were unable to go to Botanical garden as well. So at the end we just spent the whole day in the van :( Out last day in Australia was lost. I’d suggest to have an alternative route for the days like this because our guide mentioned that it happens in 50% of the cases.

Response from Host, Feb 2024

Hi Tamara. I am sorry the weather was not in our favour for the day you went to the mountains. The fog certainly is not the normal, and not the case 50% of the time. The reality is that whilst rain may be somewhat predictable, or forcasted, the fog really is not predictable. We operate the tour with the best intentions, with the clients satisfaction our priority. i looked at the GPS data of your vehicles movements, and can see Karyn tried her hardest to return to many locations later in the day in the hope of the fog clearing. The reason you could not make it to the gardens on that day is because a tree had fallen over the Bells Line of Road, bring down power lines. The road simply was blocked. This has to be one of the rarest times where we have not been able to get to the gardens, so I apologise for this. Regards

Highly recommend!

Kris_K, Feb 2024
Matt was amazing! So knowledgeable about Australia. We learned a lot. The farm we stopped at was neat. Unfortunately we had a lot of fog the day we went and were unable to see the blue mountains. Matt changed directions and took us on a drive to see kangaroos in the wild. We saw quite a few. The botanical gardens were beautiful. The lunch was really good. Highly recommend this tour!

Response from Host, Feb 2024

Thank you for reviewing our product, and that Matt provided a wonderful day, even with the fog. regards

Great trip, great guide and wonderful day!

Karen_Y, Feb 2024
This was a really great trip! Our driver/guide was wonderful. Got to pet a koala, my husband got to meet a wombat and the animal experience was great. Blue mountains are beautiful and our lunch, which we included, was fantastic. We have done lunches before with excursions but none of them have been as good as this one was at Hydro Majestic Hotel. We ended the day with a visit to the Blue Mountains Botanical Gardens. Plus we got picked up at the door of our hotel.

Response from Host, Feb 2024

Hi Thank you for reviewing our tour, and glad to hear you had a great experience. Safe travels. Regards

Amazing

Devin_A, Feb 2024
Amazing tour. No other way to see so much in one day. Knowledgeable guide who gave information on everything big and small.

Great way to pass time waiting for evening flight

Rosalind_G, Feb 2024
We were picked up at our hotel right on time. We first stopped at Calmsley Hill Farm to see the animals. We were able to pet a koala on the bottom. There were wombats, kangaroos, wallabys and other animals. From there we headed to the blue mountains. The mountains are beautiful and there were great views. Lunch was included, we had pre ordered when we got on the bus so it would be ready for us. The meat pie was delicious. Other choices included spaghetti bolongese, chicken picatta and a couple of other choices. Lunch was good. After lunch we continued through the blue mountains before heading back to Sydney where we were dropped at our hotel by 5. Our flight home was not until 9:40 so we had plenty of time to get to the airport before our flight,

Foggy and Fun - a great day

Jill_A, Feb 2024
On a foggy day, John made the best of the experience ensuring we were able to see as many beautiful sites as possible! We started the day meeting koalas, kangaroos, wallaby and a wombat, then saw beautiful landscapes once the fog lifted. John was a fountain of knowledge and made the day very enjoyable and educational.

Best Tour to the Blue Mountains

Marilyn_L, Feb 2024
I can’t imagine a better tour. We had a nice excursion to the blue mountains. From being picked up in a comfortable 13 person van to our return to our original pick up, The trip was breathtaking site after breathtaking sight. The vistas were beautiful, we saw animals had coffee/tea at an animal preserve along with snacks. We had a delicious lunch at a really nice restaurant. We got to see everything that was listed on the tour and more. Our tour guide was amazing and made the trip more personal for all of us. Mario you’re the best. Your commentary through the whole trip was interesting and you tried to answer everyone’s questions. I highly recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Feb 2024

thank you for your wonderful review and so thrilled to read you had such a lovely day in the Blue Mountains with us! It is so rewarding when we receive reviews like yours! Wishing you a wonderful time in Australia!

Great Bkue Mountains visit

Christine_W, Feb 2024
We had a great day in the Blue Mountains not just because of the amazingly beautiful scenery but because we had an amazing guide. John was incredibly knowledgeable AND personable. In addition he had a great sense of humor. Our tour included lunch and we were surprised that the food was very tasty and the location lovely, not always something we would have expected on a tour. It was a long day but very enjoyable!

Foggy and wet.

Donald_L, Feb 2024
Ian was a great tour guide. Very good driver and very knowagable. Gave great presentations about the country of Australia and the sights we visited. However, we were not able to see the vista's that we toured due to heavy fog and rain. It Wes a foggy washout.

Long day but interesting tour

Don_T, Feb 2024
Lots of past and current historical details provided during the entire trip by Nigal and Heldi. Calmly Farms was nice, but since we were there before they open, not everything was open or ready for viewing. They have a variety of animals (koalas. red kangaroos, wallabies, peacocks, turkeys, cows, pigs, birds, sheep, etc). We did see a sheep dog at work. That was cool. It was not part of a show as it appears they do. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time. The siting's were Lincoln rock, Three sisters, Evans lookout, Govern leap, and Botanic garden. Lunch was a preorder from a short menu when you get on the tour. The food was decent. Did not work out for my wife as they put a dressing on the salad that is not noted in their menu. Was nice that it was a small group of 14. However, there were two vans of 14 going to the same areas. This actually caused our lunch to be later than planned due to a scheduling issue of the two vans by management. There were USB ports on the van for each seat. They offered water for people throughout the tour.

Blue Mountains in the Rain & Fog

Joyce_W, Jan 2024
Our guide, John was wonderful! However, the weather was horrible! Rain & foggy and couldn’t see much of anything! Also, not fond of walking around in the pouring rain! This should have been cancelled and give us our money back! It was not t fair on John to try to make it bearable! Money back!!!!!
