Departure time is dependent on your pickup location and time of sunset. Normally it will be between 1:45pm and 5:30pm dependent on sunset and where the kangaroos are likely to be found. EXACT PICKUP TIME WILL BE ADVISED ON CONFIRMATION. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT WE MAY USE VEHICLES THAT ARE SPECIFIED FOR THE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS. For example, if you are 4 passengers, we may use 5 seater vehicles. If you require extra space, please contact us in advance so that we can accommodate you. Bring your cameras. It is an advantage to wear enclosed shoes and long pants.

Itinerary
Begin your afternoon with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Sydney, then travel with your private guide to peaceful outer-city bushland known for its wildlife. Visit carefully selected locations where kangaroos are often seen in large numbers, and take time to observe them resting, grazing, and moving through their natural environment. Along the way, keep an eye out for native birdlife such as kookaburras, cockatoos, rosellas, rainbow lorikeets, and magpies, adding to the richness of the experience.
After enjoying time in the wilderness, return to Sydney for drop-off.
Please note that kangaroos are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed. If no kangaroos are seen during your tour, you are welcome to rebook the same experience on another day at no additional cost, ensuring you still have the opportunity to enjoy this unique wildlife encounter.
After enjoying time in the wilderness, return to Sydney for drop-off.

Our Kangaroo expert Bruce picked us up at Hotel in Sydney, a well timed trip into the countryside near sunset to closely observe several large groups of kangaroos out on the open, a great experience not to be missed by anyone interested in Australian wildlife.

Bruce was very knowledgeable, engaging, and personable. He had a plethora of knowledge to share about the kangaroos. He's dedicated to educating those wanting to learn more about the animal from the behavior to the life cycle. I would highly recommend this tour and Bruce as the guide.

This was SUCH a great tour!! It was definitely a highlight during our stay in Australia. Bruce picked us up right on time at our hotel and taught us all sorts of things about kangaroos as we drove out of Sydney on our search for wild kangaroos. I was hoping we'd be lucky enough to see 2 or 3 kangaroos, but we must have spotted over 100 of them! Bruce was very knowledgable and friendly, walking with us and pointing out the Alpha males and females with their joeys until the day ended with a stunning sunset. I highly recommend Bruce and his Walking With Wild Kangaroos Tour if you'd like to encounter Australian wildlife in its natural habitat. We had a fantastic time!

Great experience seeing and getting close to the kangaroos Bruce possessed great knowledge of the animals in Australia and surrounding vegetation.
Emotional intelligence of his passengers would provide for a better overall experience and the reason he was not rated a 5.

Carolyn, Thanks. Yes. The amount of walking is minimal on this tour and it can be tailored easily to accommodate anyone. We often have people with walking sticks and walking frames who join us.

The tour was excellent. Bruce, the tour guide knew where the kangaroos were, so we saw at least 50 of them as close as we were allowed. Which, was maybe 40 feet.

Bruce is a knowledgeable and engaging guide and this experience was worthwhile. Seeing wildlife exhibit natural behaviors in a protected but not enclosed environment is a privilege. Kangaroos are incredibly unique creatures biologically and Bruce explained so much we did not know. Well worth the time and cost.

This walking tour was one of the main highlights of our trip to Australia. If you want to experience kangaroos in the wild, in their natural habitat, doing real kangaroo things, this is the tour to go on. We probably saw close to a hundred kangaroos total. We saw them doing some pretty amazing behaviours including joeys suckling from their mom, joeys climbing into the pouch, males boxing, and kangaroos flirting. You will not see those behaviours in a zoo.
Bruce, our tour guide, was a wealth of knowledge regarding kangaroos and many other Australian animals. The national park was only about an hour drive from downtown Sydney. If we had more time, we would’ve also done the wombat and bat tour with Bruce.

Bruce has the best excursion I have ever been on in my life. I have been on at least 500. He is the nicest most knowledgeable caring travel operator I have ever been with. My daughter and I saw a truly amazing amount of kangaroos. Bruce pointed out so many bits of information about many of the kangaroos and there environment and where to see them. I can’t even believe the incredible experience we had I am truly thankful and am sure there will never be another excursion that could ever surpass or be as incredible as this. Huge check off my bucket list.

We were very lucky to see the very large number of kangaroos, to see the joey stick its head out of the pouch, to see another joey's legs sticking out of another pouch and to see the three joeys feeding from the milk inside their respective mothers' pouches.

We couldn't imagine traveling to Australia and not having a kangaroo experience but we're not into supporting zoos. Bruce's private guided excursion was the perfect answer!
He picked us up at our hotel and filled our heads with all things kangaroo for the 45 min drive to the western suburbs of Sydney. Our excursion was early evening to catch the kangas during peak grazing time but I also liked that the timing allowed us to pack more into our day!
While I get that there are no guarantees, let me say that we hit the "Kanga jackpot" with Bruce, observing no fewer than 30-40 kangaroos in their natural settings! Bruce knew just where to find them! We viewed some from his car but also got out and got close enough for great photos and observation, including moms with joeys in pouches and large males!
I highly recommend this excursion with Bruce!

You are sure to see kangaroos on this tour, but will also leave with a newfound knowledge and appreciation for marsupials and the wildlife of this beautiful country. From the meeting time with our guide Bruce up to the last minute of this discovery, we had a blast.
Not only Bruce knew his way around, he knew so many facts about the city, the country, the animals, it shows that he's doing his job with passion. We we're lucky to see more than a few kangourous, but probably around 50 of them. And always ready to point birds flyng around and giving us details about them.

Bruce was terrific! And resourceful. On the day of our experience, both National Parks were closed due to flooding. Bruce took us further out of Sydney to a remote neighborhood. Amazing. We saw at least 10 kangaroos and visited a few different spots. Bruce was a great conversationalist as well. Very knowledgeable about kangaroos and also extremely well travelled. It made for a fun few hours together. We had a great day and even got a few photos and videos of kangaroos running across a green space. Bruce brought binoculars for us to enjoy. It gave us a chance to get a closer look.

Bruce did an awesome job of keeping us entertained through conversation on the drive from our hotel to where we could find wild kangaroos. The national park he took us to had male, female, and joeys - we were able to see some out on open grassy areas and others in the brush/bush. Bruce also pointed out other wildlife that we would not see where we are from. Highly recommend you give this trip serious priority!

It was so exciting to see wild Kangaroos! We took some great pictures and it was such an experience to see them jumping across a field. And seeing a Joey nursing from his mother's pouch! Bruce gave us lots of information about kangaroos and Australia in general. It was a wonderful tour that I would recommend to everyone.
