Amazing Jervis Bay tour! We saw dolphins and kangaroos up close, and Hyams Beach was absolutely stunning with its pure white sand and clear water. Well organised, friendly guide, and a truly unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!

Great drive on the coast; we saw vineyards, sheep, horses, cattle, as well, great views of the mountains, ocean and trees. Enjoyed the boat cruise, seeing kangaroos in the National Park and throughly enjoyed the beaches. Tour guide was great and knowledgeable.

Not worth the money or time

Hazel_B, Mar 2026
Long journey to find out the dolphin trip was cancelled. Apparently sea too rough. Alternative was to watch the sea for 1 hour. Saw around 12 kangaroos on a nonsense path walk to a beach that you couldn’t do anything on. 30 minute stay. We had a breakfast stop for 30 minutes then a toilet stop for 30 minutes and then a dinner stop for 60 minutes all before 1pm. Seamed pointless. We then got 60 minutes on the golden sand beach which was lovely but there wasn’t anything else to do there. A long and not well planned out day

Driving Australia

Wendy_B, Mar 2026
It was 3 hours of driving to get to the first excursion- The driver was very fatigued to start the day. Rubbing his eyes, his head, leaning on his elbows at lights. He did seem to waken after the first 2 hours. He wasn’t so much a guide as just a driver. The 3 hour drive home he did give us the add of the lighthouse stop which was greatly appreciated

Driver and or guide...

Rohit_S, Mar 2026
Driver and or guide looked disinterested and was just ticking box for itenary. Gave no history or facts associated with the location. Location in itself was amazing though.

MARIA_M, Mar 2026
It rained the entire time. The cruise was torture. We couldn’t enjoy the white sand beach because of the wind. We didn’t get to go through the national park because of the rain. We mostly just drove around trying to figure out what to do as the weather impacted most if not all of the activities. The provider should’ve cancelled and refunded the tour but didn’t.

I don't recommend it.

Barbara_K, Feb 2026
It is a long drive, 3 hours one way. It's just not worth it to spend half a day on a bus. The driver's English was mediocre and it was hard to understand him. His communication skills were lacking as well. We were sometimes confused what are we doing, where are we going, how much time we have etc. He was more of a driver than a tour guide. He was mainly interacting with 2 groups of people which didn't bother me, but telling them "we can go here or there, you decide what you want to do" was bizarre. The weather forecast for the day was rain, but they decided to go with the trip, because often "weather in Sydney is bad, but it's sunny in Jervis Bay". It wasn't. It was raining. So we didn't see any dolphins. We couldn't appreciate the beaches because it was raining and windy. Next time trust the weather forecast, cancel the trip and refund the money. Only good thing that made it not complete waste of the day was that we saw kangaroos on Cave Beach and could stroke them. Still not worth the money and the time in the end.

Great day Jervis Bay

It's wath good .i have 1 problem .in the trip ,Note that walking is a bit difficult for adults. We noted that a person can decide whether they are able or not.

Amazing experience, the dolphins were fantastic but be ready for a long day

Kate_W, Dec 2025
Quite a long time spent on the bus (around 6 hours in total I’d say) but the experience was really great! Saw lots of dolphins and they swam with the boat which was amazing. Also saw kangaroos which was very cool and the beach at the end was stunning. Fernando was a great guide :)

Jervis Bay Tour well worth it

dinag1966, Dec 2025
Great day spent at Jervis Bay we visited Huskinson had lunch there and walked around the area with some ice cream. Did the boat cruise saw the dolphins swimming, well worth it. Went to Hyams Beach, what a beautiful beach with turquoise water, then headed to Cave Beach it was amasing, we also saw the kangaroos they were tame enough to allow you to pat them. Last stop at Kiama Blow Hole then headed back to our meeting point to head home. Ali our driver was lovely to deal with and funny at times. Highly recommend this tour.

Could use a little improvement

Timothy_J, Nov 2025
The ride was much longer than what we had anticipated. there was very little explanations about anything as we traveled.. the kangaroo part of the excursion was a bit disappointing as the kangaroos were small and a bit mange. A lot of people would’ve rather gone to the White Sand beach and skipped that altogether.. and the dolphin cruise resulted in no dolphins and was extended which used up time for other things. The bus seemed to be underpowered for the terrain that we covered.

The activities were great. Driver was nice and friendly but not a guide. The Blowhole is not always included, we got to see it. The minibus was really old. Good experience considering the price.

Dafydd_G, Nov 2025
The views and places we visited were amazing. The bus was comfortable enough, Aircon always being a welcome feature. The only real let down was the driver, fair play to him that English wasn't his first language, but there wasn't any commentary or information about the nature or the country we were in.

Jarvis Bay Tour

Arbi_D, Nov 2025
Visited Some sandy beaches and a cave but unfortunately no dolphins . Saw some Kangaroos and On the way I also saw an Ostrich. The drive is long but worth it. The guys are great. However if you are looking for a tour guide this is more solo of a tour .

Jervis Bay & Dolphin cruise impressions

Slawomir_N, Oct 2025
I booked a tour for my mother on 25th October 2025, she took part on the Jervis Bay & Dolphin Cruise by Mate Tours. Her feedback was: “The tour was planned precisely and then conducted according to the plan. We were lucky to see picturesque landscapes, dolphins swimming together next to our cruiser and wallabies in the wild. Mac, who guided us, is a mix of wonderful energy, interesting information, a brilliant sense of humour and personal culture. Not to mention his driving skills. He’s just born to be a guide. In short: buy this trip today. Make people around you jealous of your impressions and memories. Hanna from Poland.”

Was a good experience. Should bear some cover up for boat, it’s pretty windy. Beaches were great. Small group, very nice guide

Really good experience!...

Dagmar_A, Feb 2025
Really good experience! Michael, our guide, was super nice, helpful, and did his best to adjust the program to our needs due to bad weather. Perfect! I would definitely book with this company again! 🙏🏼

Be on time as timings are followed meticulously (which is very good) The tour guide (James) was very friendly and polite. He also seems to be a pretty skilled photographer! A hassle free experience thanks to him

Wonderful

Federica_M, Dec 2024
This tour was great! Our guide Mac, brought us to all the spots mentioned in the description and also to some extra spots. The highlight for me was the wild kagaroos at Cave beach! Great tour, I would definitely recommend it!

A fantastic day out at the beaches

Jay_B, Dec 2024
A fantastic day out. You see some amazing beaches with such white sand to lay back in. The boat ride is a must and with any luck will spot one or two dolphins. Maciel was a great guide, kept us on track and got us to each site with time to spare.

Fun, amazing service

Thaina_V, May 2024
Today we went on our second tour with Mate Tours and it was absolutely amazing! First time we went it was to Jervis Bay in January this year for my birthday and they even surprised me with cheesecake 🥳 and today we went to Blue Mountains… how incredible 😍 Thank you to Maikel, James and Aurelio for the great service 😊🥰

Great day

Michelle_F, Apr 2024
It was a great day loved the dolphins and the hikes to the different beaches. Mac even took us to see the light house and blowhole

Great trip!

RosaMaMortola, Mar 2024
It was a good full day trip, fun time, great places we stopped at, we saw dolphins during the cruise, the food was so yummy and the guides were super nice and friendly. Not giving you 5 stars just because the bus was so uncomfortable to be for long hours travelling. But

Loved it!

Evon_G, Mar 2024
Our tour guide was Michael and he was great. Very friendly and conversational with everyone - especially my husband who had lots to say. His Aussie BBQ was very good and the beaches very relaxing.

Long commute to a lovely place, nice cruise, meh beach experience.

Nancy_A, Mar 2024
Very long boring bus ride to and from a lovely place. The bay cruise with lots of dolphin sightings was great. The following excursion, not so much. If you are looking for three hours in the company of strangers on a beach with limited amenities and no planned activities, you’ll be happy. If you were hoping for any information from the guides about the area, geography, local wildlife, or history, you won’t be. The barbecue was tasty, though.

Response from Host, May 2024

Thank you for sharing your perspective on your experience with us. We are actually quite surprise to hear that. Considering this is far from an standard tour, every time we go out, the day unfolds differently in a unique way. This may have something to to with the group size, the time of the year, as there may be others around the area and how busy the road can get during the peak season.
