Itinerary

After morning pickup from your Seville hotel, settle inside your air-conditioned minivan and leave town for a small olive oil factory, where one of the Mediterranean’s most-loved culinary specialities — olive oil — is made.

After approximately 20 minutes, arrive and meet the factory owner. Then, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the sun-dappled olive groves. Inspect the trees and learn about the history of olive-growing. Olive oil has been produced in Andalusia since Roman times, and olives are still harvested here by hand as they were then.

Having seen the orchards, explore the factory to watch the harvested olives being made into oil. Although the factory produces only a few liters of this ‘liquid gold’ each year, its oils are considered some of the world’s best. See the different stages of production, and then visit the tasting area to sample some varieties.

Try a selection of subtly bitter, sweet, and spicy oils, and swap notes on their mouthfeel and flavors. Complement your tastings with a local appetizer for the complete Andalusian experience.

If you wish, buy some favorite oils (own expense) from the shop before your trip concludes at the original start point in Seville.

Best tour of our honeymoon

Top quality experience. Miguel was our driver - he was very professional and delivered us smoothly and safely to the farm. On the farm, Elena was our tour guide and she was amazing. Knowledgeable, gave a great tour, and was excellent company. There were only four of us total on the tour, so we had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and Elena had answers for them all. Would absolutely recommend this tour, 10/10, and would also recommend buying lots of oil from the gift shop.

Too far for too short of a time

The description showed a 15 min drive out of town with a 3.5 hr tour. Which appealed to me. I received a call evening before the tour to tell me they’re using a new, modern farm but it’s 1.5 drive each way with a 1.5 hour tour and tasting. The facility is very nice however it’s much too long of a drive for such a short tour. More driving than tour! The farm was a quick tour of the outside and mostly inside. Beautiful building with nice place to eat as well (but this wasn’t included nor was there time to eat, instead we were stopped at some cafe next to a gas station to grab a quick bite. I wouldn’t recommend. If they changed up their itinerary, maybe

We spent a few hours at a magnificent olive oil farm ( Basilippo) and watched the whole process of growing the olives to the final production of olive oil. Our guide was passionate and knowledgeable about how to choose olive oils and learning about the timing of picking olives. We ended up buying quite a few gifts to take back to the states.

We enjoyed the tour- very informative and enjoyed the olive grove, factory and tasting. The owner gave a wonderful tour and shared a glass of his organic wine while we enjoyed the beautiful view. Our kids found the drive long - it was an HOUR and 20 minutes, not 20 minutes, as written in the description. After our 8:45am pick up and picking up fellow pax at another hotel, we arrived at the olive farm at 10:30. That would be our only critique.

We had booked an olive oil tour from Seville at least a month in advance, but it turned out that we were the only two people to sign up. The original tour to a larger facility therefore had to be cancelled, but Naturanda made new plans for us and we were driven to a small, organic olive oil producer, Oleum Viride, outside the town of Zahara de la Sierra. It was just us (and our very patient and friendly guide José) with the charming owner, who gave us a detailed and informative tour of the facility and described all aspects of production. It was a fantastic experience.

My fiancé and I booked this tour on our visit to Seville. We’ll be recommending our friends who visit Seville experience this olive farm. The owner was knowledgeable about the industry, helped explain the types of oil classifications (we will be buying Extra Virgin back in the states now) and the property is beautiful. This is a small family farm and will be giving them my business in the future. However, the tour company that took us there left some to be desired. They did NOT offer a hotel pickup for us (or anyone as we could tell). I asked them 10 days before the tour to confirm they would get us at our hotel, they told me they would confirm the day before. The day before they gave us a meetup address, a 20m walk from our hotel. They told us to arrive at 8:45 (listing said 9:45) and when we did, we waited for 30m for everyone else to arrive. Other tours were leaving at the same time and there was no clear organization. We then walked 10m to the van. The tour guide spoke maybe 2 sentences the entire time, and it was clear she had never been on this tour again. The van driver also took a wrong turn. The farm is 30m out of town, so in reality this 4 hour visit was 30m waiting, 30m driving, 120m on farm and 30m driving back, to be dropped off at a parking area where we were picked up. Still giving this 5 stars as the farm was fantastic and I don’t want to discourage visits to this small business. But the tour company has room to do better.

The tour is truly exceptional. The farm they parter with to visit is uniquely charming, and the co-owner who leads the tour groups while there is the perfect host. It is hard to describe how much of a great time this is, but it is WELL WORTH your time. I cannot recommend it enough.

Isaac was an amazing host at Basiloppo ( sp?). He was so kind, passionate and knowledgeable! He explained things so well and gave such a great overview of his family’s business as well as the industry. And tasting olive oils that way was mind blowing! We learned so much! It was a beautiful place (from a garden and plant lover who was in heaven) and just a warm welcome. The guide/driver from Sevilla to the farm and back was very sweet and kind but his English was among the harder of guides we have had to understand. On us - we know - to be better in Spanish - but I feel like we lost a lot of info to understanding him.

We had a grand time. They arranged a pick up near our hotel. The hacienda itself was charming and beautiful. We think olives are fascinating in general, but we learned SO MUCH about olives— both the history of making the oil and the brand new state of the art equipment they use to do it now. Isaac was a wonderful guide. His English is excellent. And the tasting at the end is the piece de resistance. Overall, we learned that olive oil is an art in the process, and (not unlike bourbon😉) the results are worth the effort. Perfect, perfect.

The tour was excellent and I highly recommend it. We began in the olive grove with information about the cultivation of the trees and methods of olive harvesting. We then moved into a small museum with models of harvesting and production equipment used through the ages. Next was the grading and bottling of the oil- surprisingly similar to winery procedures. We finished with a tasting that was fun and instructive on how to identify the best quality oils and we also some unusual taste combinations. Our group of 3 generations agreed that the tour was a highlight of our trip to Southern Spain!

This was a wonderful beautiful location deep in the heart of the Seville countryside, helped enormously by the fabulous weather. A picturesque property where envy of those living here is likely. A special surprise at the end of the tour made a really good couple of hours even better....orange infused olive oil with chocolate ice cream!!! Dreamy.

One of the best tours we have ever been on. The small group was the three of us. We went to the Hacienda Guzman. It was olive harvesting season so we saw the product in the making. Our guide was from the estate and was outstanding. She explained everything from the various types of trees to the current production to the history to the estate itself. This was worth twice the cost and I would do it again in a minute. Great.
