What an amazing tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. She gave us a lot of information and context and answered all our questions.
Tina_D, Nov 2025
This tour only covered basic facts that were already posted throughout the ruins and in the museum. Moreover, our guide (originally French) was low energy and made weak jokes and odd facial expressions- think Peter Sellers’s Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther. Initially, we even thought she was drunk!
Recommend you save money and skip this tour. Start at the museum near the entrance- it has a short video giving a nice overview. Then tour on your own. It’s not a complicated site and pretty small.

It was very interesting and educational and fun tour. Jesus made it very enjoyable with lots of facts, funny stories and tons of information about Roman times and life’s of this town. The tour exceeded my expectations.

We were told the wrong meeting point, the guide arrived 20-25 mins late with a coach party and the expected lateness was not communicated to us. I was about to look at site by self and complain. I tried to contact tour co b=va violator - no reply. I only got to them by looking up he tour company’s details on web. Even then, they did not answer phone but did respond to whatsapp

The tour was incredible and an absolute must see. Our tour guide Miguel was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job explaining the history of the ancient city. The amphitheater, (the dragon pits from Game of Thrones) were a highlight if you are GOT fans.
Our one big complaint is that there is NO public transportation back (i.e. no taxi service to Sevillla) and we were not forewarned of this. There is only bus transport back - takes cash ONLY - (which we ran out of and had to walk 20 minutes to an atm to pull out cash) and is a long way back to the city (over 1 hour with all the stops). Highly recommend only doing this tour if you have a car and can drive yourself or book a tour with transportation to and from the city. Viator needs to be more clear about the transportation options.
Still a great trip though!

Hello Miguel, thanks for your comment we are glad that you liked the tour to Italica.

I’ve never heard of Italica until visiting Seville. It was an amazing must see place to visit. How well preserved and the presentation of this ancient Roman town is amazing. Alberto is a great tour guide, he knows his history and is very passionate. I recommend to go once with him to learn all the history and a second trip to go at your own pace to really appreciate and see the entire ancient city.
Ted_J, Mar 2025
Unbelievably good tour but the tour guide is off the get his doctorate so will no longer leading the tour. Really knowledgeable and made the city come to life...
Tyler_P, Mar 2025
The tour of Italica and the amphitheater was awesome! Fascinating, informative, beautiful. Alberto Cort was our guide and he was absolutely the best! Knowledgeable, accessable, fun, and attentive. He made Italica come alive.

The guide brought energy, factual knowledge, and humor to his presentations. We learned much about the life and times of the Roman people who inhabited Itálica, and about ongoing archeological explorations. The adults, teenagers, and 9-year old all consider it a highlight of our Spain experiences,

The ancient tiles were incredible. The guide did a good job of telling the story of Italica. We also learned about the Countess of LeBrija, which prompted us to tour her palace
Rosalinda_A, Dec 2023
This wasn’t the best tour for us. The guide was a little bit hard to understand. Microphone/headphones should have been provided.
Luis_F, Dec 2023
Our guide, Zarapico, was very good to include into his explanation local fauna and the importance of plants in the life of the inhabitants of Italica
Nick_R, Nov 2023
Albergo was a great guide - very well informed and clearly passionate about the subject matter. The site is very interesting - definitely worth a visit
Katie_W, Nov 2023
The italica ruins are only €3 entry for non EU residents and free for EU residents. The first 5/10 minutes of the tour was good walking around the colliseum however the other hour and a half was mainly looking at 2 referbished Roman houses which was interesting however each room had its own information board which we could have just read the information on in about 40 minutes.
Our tour guide was lovely and answered all of our groups questions however unfortunately on the day we went there were lots of school children and other louder tour group guides. The operator didn't supply headsets like they say in the description so we only heard 50% of our tour!
Would give this one a miss!

The sites were amazing
What we didn’t like and it is similar with other tours, the guide does not wait for everyone and starts the description of site
We know for them it’s a business but for us is only that moment
Catherine_N, May 2023
Terrible tour guide. 1. She was 20 min late 2. Booked an English speaking tour but the guide did not speak English well and gave half the tour in French. (Ended up reading the posted signs and Goggling more about the site) 3. The guide also skipped 2 of the prominent sites, the theater and the bath house.
Joanne_H, Apr 2023
Our guide was excellent; friendly, knowledgeable and obviously passionate about Italica. It was amazing to see the whole area of Italica, it was a shame that more of the city had not been uncovered, there is a huge piece of history awaiting discovery.
I would recommend people take a guided tour rather than an independent visit, I can’t praise our guide enough, he made the trip so much more enjoyable.
Judith_C, Apr 2023
We were scheduled for a 10:30am tour in English. The tour guide arrived late and we were put into a group with French tourists. The tour guide had to conduct the entire tour in both languages, so the tour, which should have been 1 1/2hrs at most, took 3 hours! Half of which was in a different language. The guide did a great job, it wasn't her fault, but we were not even offered the option to get our money back if we didn't want to listen to a tour in French. Truly inconsiderate of our time.
John_P, Mar 2023
Great tour and the perfect length for us with young children. Jésus was very knowledgeable, personable, and enjoyed answering questions. We budgeted another hour after the tour to walk the grounds and take more pics which was perfect. Very enjoyable!
Jayne_M, Jan 2023
Really interesting. Much nicer to do with guide and understand the nuances of what we see. We went by car but there is a bus stop by the gate.
Laurie_M, Jan 2023
Jesus was an excellent guide with lots of energy and warmth. Italics is an amazing place not just for history enthusiasts. Final scenes from Game of Thrones filmed here.
Robert_R, Nov 2022
Oratory guide was fantastic. Not only excellent at being an archaeologist she really explained the city as it was back in the day
Robert_L, Oct 2022
Very interesting tour. Wish the guide would have spoken a little slower. Our weather was nice. This tour would not have been fun on a hot day. Very little shade. Nice, casual restaurant across the street from the entrance.
Annette_A, Jul 2022
Italica is definitely worth seeing. Our tour guide was very nice, but her English was so terrible that for the most part we had to guess what she was saying. She must have self-taught English from a book, because she pronounced everything so badly or just made up words that didn’t exist. Which left us wondering why gladiators were eating grass to put on more fat :-). As a tour guide you need to have better English skills, because the tour was dragging
Harriet_F, Apr 2022
Very interesting tour. Our guide Jesús was very engaging and full of knowledge. It lasted about 2 hours and for the price over exceeded my expectations!
ADELE_B, Apr 2022
The guide was lovely but his English was a little confusing to listen too, he was well presented and he tried to make it fun. Waiting a little too long as he has a couple of Spanish speaking people with a large English speaking group
Olivia_B, Jan 2022
We were very excited about this tour, but felt a bit disappointed by it in the end. While we signed up for a tour in English, we really ended up speaking 3 languages - English, French, and Spanish - due to the different needs of the tour participants. As a result, it took a long time to get through all of the content and there was a lot of “dead time” for us during the French and Spanish discussion. There are many informational plaques throughout the site and we felt like we probably could have had a good experience just walking through and reading those at our own pace. Not sure it was really worth booking a guided tour for this one.
GARY_M, Apr 2020
Great tour. Just right pace. Very informative guide Roman history in spain would be recommended on a nice sunny day 20 minutes from central Seville well worth it
Nuno_N, Jul 2019
It's a well preserved archeological site, with many replicas of original artefacts originally found at the site and taken to the Seville. The guide explained very well the site, so you could feel the life of the ancient city. Very nice. The Colosseum is awesome.
