Loved our guided Gibraltar visit from Seville

This summer (2026) Spain and the UK eliminated physical border security checks for Gibraltar, making it much easier to visit the famous Rock / Peñón. Our party of 5 seniors (66-80) left Sevilla with our fantastic Sevilla Moving driver and guide, Miguel, at 8am on a Wednesday in September, reaching the airport parking lot in Gibraltar at approximately 10:30am. There, our friendly and informative local guide, Justin, took us up to the top, stopping at all the interesting points to get out for pictures and exploring. It was a busy day at the top, even in the middle of the week, but not as busy as weekends or when large cruise ships arrive. After 2-3 hours, Justin returned us to Miguel for lunch at a traditional British pub and a stroll on the Main Street. We were back in our lodgings in Sevilla by 5pm (light traffic helped). The day was all just as wonderful as advertised and as good a day as we had hoped for. An amazing and beautiful place, just enough walking, and excellent guides / drivers. I’m sure the cable car will be amazing when renovations are finished, and there were many who hiked far more than we did, but for us this was an ideal day. We highly recommend Miguel, Justin, and Sevilla Moving!

The guide, Francisco, was terrific. He took excellent care of us. We felt Gibraltar was underwhelming & a little tricky (and exhausting) to get down. But to be fair, we didn’t do the cave, the tunnels, the apes den. We just wanted to get down! Would definitely recommend taking the cable car back down.

Good morning, Nancy. We are sorry to hear that you arrived so tired from your walk down from La Roca. As indicated in the experience when making the reservation, the descent must be done on foot, as this is the only way to access the Nature Reserve to visit the Cave of San Miguel and the other points of interest. In these cases, we recommend asking your guide to change your ticket to include the cable car ride up and down, but as we mentioned, in that case it will be impossible to see anything in the park.
