Dear Tour Operator,
I would like to provide feedback regarding the sunrise tour we recently completed. Before addressing the issues, I want to make it absolutely clear that the poor score we have given reflects the organisation and management of the tour—not the individuals who worked with us on the day.
First, I would like to highlight that our driver, Dede, was exceptionally kind, professional, and attentive throughout the journey. Additionally, the driver of our jeep was helpful, knowledgeable, and did his best to support us. Our concerns are in no way directed at them.
Fortunately, the sky was clear and visibility was excellent, which allowed us to fully enjoy the sunrise. It was a bit chilly at the top, so for anyone planning to visit, bringing a light jacket or jumper is highly recommended. We were also told that the mountains visible in the distance were located on Lombok Island, which made the view even more special.
However, several organisational issues significantly impacted our experience:
Condition of the Jeep: The vehicle provided was in very poor condition. The display was broken, and it was unclear why such a basic issue had not been repaired. The jeep itself was extremely worn out, which raised concerns about safety and maintenance standards.
Lack of Communication About Our Package: Our jeep driver had not been informed about the package we booked. We had to prove that the Black Lava visit was included, which created unnecessary confusion and delay. This is an organisational oversight that should not occur.
Toilet Facilities at the Transfer Point: The toilet facilities where we changed vehicles were absolutely unacceptable. Considering the price charged for this tour, it is reasonable to expect at least basic, clean, and functional facilities. The current state of these amenities does not meet even minimum standards.
Given the number of jeeps (70+) visiting the viewing point, and the fact that your organisation is locally based—as we were informed—it would be expected that you collaborate with other operators to ensure that infrastructure and facilities are maintained to a reasonable level. It appears very easy to charge high prices, but the quality of the facilities and organisation should reflect that cost.
We hope you take this feedback seriously and use it to improve the experience for future guests.

we love nina! she was a great driver felt very safe! she got us an awesome spot on the mountain for the sunrise. breakfast and hot drinks were provided. took heaps of photos for us so we knew we had many to choose from!

The trip was well planned and everything went smoothly. Our drivers were professional and funny. In Mt. Batur, the driver also took high quality photos of us with the view. The sunrise was beautiful. Hot springs and coffee tasting were amazing. The tour is worth every penny.

Easy communication and punctual with pick ups. Friendly staff and straight forward. They need to advise you of the time however as it went far over and we had to cut it short. Otherwise worth the wake up for the sunrise.

Extremely disappointed with this experience. Woke up at 2 am to be picked up at 215, drove to the site where we were transferred into our jeep, made it to the lookout spot early before any other jeeps arrived. We were told to wait at the "market" for coffee and breakfast. We were the first ones there so lucky enough to get a seat on the bench where we were served coffee and breakfast which isn't breakfast but either a cup of dried noodles or banana sandwich. Expectations were very low for "breakfast" at the top of a mountain but this should not be called breakfast. People started to arrive and there wasn't seating available for the majority of the group. It was a rainy day so unfortunately we saw nothing from our lookout, totally understandable that no one can control the weather but this experience should be called "weather permitting" as thunder and lightening for hours leading up to the sunrise was a clear sign there would be no sunrise view to see. It was very obvious everyone was very disappointed and extremely confused with the situation. After we went to look at the volcanic rock, a canopy on the back of the jeep would be very inexpensive and easy to install so you don't get rained on, we were soaking even with our thin rain jackets we were provided. Our tour guide could barely speak English so we didn't learn anything. At the end we were dropped off at the same place we transferred to our jeep and it had been 6 hours already so we had to use the bathroom. There is a toilet where they have the audacity to make you pay 5k and it was the most disgusting toilet I've ever seen. Use of the bathroom should be included with your ticket.
I love the people and culture of Bali, I have deep respect for their tradition and making the best of the infrastructure and what they have to work with, but have never ever been disappointed like this with a booked experience with 5 star reviews. Do not book this. I hope some major changes are made to this experience.

Agus and Sari were our guides on this trip and they were exceptional. It all went smoothly and they were on time for everything. The Jeep part was great fun - a real bone-rattler. Agus was great driving around the tight and narrow roads. There was a little cloud at sunrise but he managed to get some amazing photos of me and the missus. A bumpy drive over the black lava field then some Hot Spings which bought some welcome relaxation to our jangled bones. A great trip and a must-do while in Bali.

Guide Sarwa has helped me with the pickup at my hotel in seminyak to mount batur, where i meet Guide Nyonman Sail who drove jeep to the Mount Batur. Both of them teaches me the tradition of bali which is an eye opening for me. If you guys plan to go to Mount Batur, do find Guide Sarwa to pickup from the hotel and Guide Nyoman Sail for the jeep ride.

I totally understand with your dissatisfaction for being not able to attend this experience. You asked for cancelling your tour just 5 minutes before departure when our driver and guide were already arriving at your hotel.
If you told us at least few hours before departure we still try our best to help you for as best as possible. In your case we were not able to offer refund since we had made 100 % arrangement from hotel pickup, guide, jeep, food and everything.
We do apologize for inconvenience caused. We always have commitment to offer excellent service for all of our guest.

10/10 experience with our drivers Emon and Komang! Great sunrise, awesome hot spring.
Emon was our driver for the whole day (from 3am). He picked us up and brought us to Mount Batur, the hot springs (a must!), coffee plantation, and back home - all with a friendly smile and great music choice for the car ride. Shoutout to Emon for being so kind and thoughtful!
Komang was an incredible driver! He drove us, in his jeep, all the way up to the top of Mount Batur. Even though the trail up was a bit bumpy, he made it fun (while being very safe)! Not only that, he make sure we had all that we needed (blanket, tea, snacks) AND he took the beat photos (and videos) of us in the jeep during sunrise!

Totally perfect from start till end. We were picked up at 2:00 and brought to the jeep parking place were we met our new driver. That guy was awesome! Well educated about the area, great English, super friendly and an astonishing photographer. We good awesome shots from the sunrise, perfect pictures on the lava field and conversations that made that time absolutely wonderful. We just can say thanks a lot for that great time!

Jero was a friendly driver and an interesting conversationalist. He was thoughtful and
best of all, he took many stunning photographs of us in the sunset and on top of the jeep. He knew the best times to take photos. Jero and his friend were very caring and looked after all our needs. Die Sonne habe ich leider nicht gesehen. Es war zu bewölkt den Tag. Auf dem Batur war die Stimmung unter den Touris gut. Viele Fahrer kümmerten sich sehr um ihre Gäste und machten tolle Fotos.
Leider saß ich über eine Stunde allein, da mein Betreuer bei seinen Freunden saß. Ich fragte, ob er denn auch ein paar Fotos von mir machen würde, das hat er dann getan.
Trotz des Wetters war es ein schöner Ausflug. Auch danach zum Lavafeld und zu den heißen Quellen. Die Landschaft ist einfach Atemberaubend

C’était une expérience incroyable, vraiment à faire si vous êtes de passage à Bali.
Nous avons eu AJI comme chauffeur qui est venu nous chercher à 3h du matin à notre hôtel et qui nous a emmené au pied du Mont Batur.
Nous avons pris la Jeep avec Arman notre chauffeur qui était EXCELLENT!!! Il a été drôle à souhait, souriant, et il nous a fait de magnifique photos. Son collègue Mangkou était super sympas également.
Nous garderons un très beau souvenir de ce moment et encore merci à Arman pour nous avoir fait vivre cette expérience unique dans une si bonne ambiance.
Je recommande sans hésiter.
