Wonderful tour with an excellent friendly flexible and knowledgable guide who seemed to know his way around everywhere and in every situation -Ebenezer. Have to be prepared for rain and cold and heavy winds. Our guide knew the best places to go for touring and for eats - a very pleasant surprise
Kenny was amazing, he navigated us through the island perfectly. Took us away from the route of big tour buses and knew where to go depending on the weather we were dealing with in the moment. We hoped to see Puffins and he found them for us!
Wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable . Great places visited, well worth every penny. Time given to look and read at stops. All questions answered. Transport very very commfortable
Duncan did an amazing job showing us the incredible sights of Orkney, Scotland. From the moment we met, he made us feel welcome and took the time to tailor the tour to our family's interests rather than sticking to a one-size-fits-all itinerary. His extensive knowledge of Orkney's history, archaeology, and local culture brought every stop to life, and he shared fascinating stories that made each site even more memorable.
One thing that really stood out was how thoughtful he was in making sure everyone enjoyed the experience. He made a special effort to include the interests of my 12-year-old goddaughter, keeping her engaged and excited throughout the day. At the same time, he was incredibly patient with my mom and aunt, happily answering all of their questions without ever making us feel rushed. His enthusiasm, professionalism, and kindness created a relaxed atmosphere that made the tour enjoyable for all ages.
Thanks to Duncan, we experienced Orkney in a way we never could have on our own. His local knowledge, flexibility, and genuine passion for sharing these remarkable islands made this one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland. We booked the Orkney Island tour with Experience Orkney and had a disappointing experience. The booking stated the tour started at 8 AM but our driver Ebonezer texted that pick up was between 9 and 10. Very challenging since we did not have a pick-up time and it was windy and cold waiting on the pier. Also, the booking stated we had private tour which was reflected in the price. Once our driver arrived for pick-up 75 minutes late, he informed us that he was picking up a second group of 4 at second location. The second group was also under the impression they had booked a private tour. At the end of the tour the driver said he would look into a discount since we paid for a private tour. After speaking with him he made a lot of excuses and only offered a slight discount which he has not honored to date. I am certain there are a lot of reputable tour guides on Orkney islands that offer fantastic tours.

Thanks for your review, the rest of the group had a fantastic time, apart from you Michelle, the boat was late, and passengers didn't get off early, and because of that, I made it clear that will pick you up between
09:00-10:00, as many of the places don't open till 09:00, and that will give you time to have your breakfast before the tour. Your booking was cancelled and rebooked a night before the tour, so you just lucky you had a tour with us, thanks for review
Very good tour… covered a lot of ground, very personable guide, and we were incredibly lucky to have perfect weather! Pace was perfect for us.
Only complaint is that we were not provided with water as promised in the trip information (we probably should have asked). Also, probably because we started later in the morning (9:30 instead of 7:30, which was fine with us), we did not go to Broch of Gurness.
It would have been nice to visit Maeshowe .
Such a phenomenal tour of Orkney. Ebenezer is a fantastic tour guide- knowledgable, friendly and a great sense of humor. He was waiting for us when we disembarked- all the tour operators know each other at the port so it was easy to find him. He made sure we were able to see everything on the tour list, made lunch reservations for us in advance to ensure wed have time for dining and be seated, and made sure we were back to the boat on time. I’d definitely recommend this tour and Ebenezer as a guide. A fabulous day and Orkney is so beautiful.
We enjoyed our tour with Ebenezer, he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He drove us all around Orkney to the many sights the island has to offer and provided in depth details. Would highly recommend this tour. Thanks Ebenezer for an amazing time!
