Wonderful full day....

Lourdes_L, Aug 2025
Wonderful full day. Callum was fantastic. Very nice young man, very knowledgeable, took the time to explain everything to us and answered all of our questions. He even had a little gift for us from his wife. Really enjoyed our day on this private tour with him.

Calum is your guy-ide!

Calum was outstanding! The tour was an excellent immersion of the incredulous and awe-inspiring Neolithic World Heritage sites and landmarks that adorn the breathtaking Orkney landscape. Calum's knowledge and enthusiasm for his homeland was evident through his joy and adeptness in sharing the remarkable history of this region of Scotland---covering mind bending periods and information from the Neolithic period to the Picts and Vikings and even up to WWII. If your not sure about visiting Orkney---don't hesitate --it is a simply striking and extraordinary archipelago that will take your breath away!! Calum will guide you through the area with ease, comfort and exceptionally informative manner.

The absolute BEST private tour of Orkney with a true LOCAL.

Callum is THE BEST guide on Orkney in our opinion. Born and raised on the island, he knows SO much history and shares it all with you. He maintained contact with us before the trip to make sure he knew what we wanted to see (and then he showed us the REAL Orkney). He met us at the ferry and waited for us to park our car. He drove us around the island and we loved talking with him and hearing about life on Orkney. We stopped at (in no order) the Italian Chapel, St. Magnus Cathedral, Scapa Flow, Stone of Stenness, Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae, the Brough of Bursar. To make it even better, we went to some cliffs and got to go inside a Cairn with Viking runes. We went to Maeshowe the next day and Callum's place was much better. Our tour lasted a bit longer than the 5 hours and he didn't care. He wanted to make sure we were happy. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking a trip with Callum. You will only regret not booking with him.

Excellent value

Our guide Calum Thein was fantastic. He is an Orcadian by birth and truly loves his home. Calum looked after us so well, he asked us what we wanted to see and gave us lots of local history, Skara Brae was the highlight of this very personal tour.

Calum and Reanne did everything they could to make our day enjoyable. We loved every part of the day but were fascinated by Skara Brae. Thank you.

Sights of Orkney

Thomas_F, Aug 2024
The overall knowledge and enthusiasm of Calum our driver and guide had of each sight we visited made these historic sites even more interesting and enjoyable. Try to get him too!

Great tour of the island by a local

Lynn_R, Aug 2024
Calum gave us a great tour of the historical spots on the island. Since not all guides are local, he gave some inside info. With only 4 of us, he adapted the timing to our wishes and made a stop at a store so I could buy scotch.

Calum is very...

Calum is very knowledgeable and personable young man . His depth of history of the island of Orkney is amazing. He took us to many interesting places off the beaten path and a bus tour could not have taken you to. Would highly recommend Calum for a visit to Historic Orkney !

Oarkney with Collum

Stephen_P, Jun 2024
Collum was a wonderful guide and took us to locations that a larger bus wouldn't do. His knowledge of the island as a native was perfect for the four of us.

Great tour!

Bruce_L, May 2024
Calum was a great guide and seeing the still intact history from thousands of years ago was incredible.

Breezy and lovely day exploring Orkney

Kathryn_C, Apr 2024
Câlin was an energetic, enthusiastic, and entertaining guide for our short visit in Kirkwood. He took us to several sites that the buses could not get to. He was flexible with the timing as we adjusted to a site closing and later wanted to spend more time at the standing stones. He grew up on the island and shared the stories of his youth. We would certainly recommend his tour over the large bus groups.
