Claudia is a wonderful, friendly guide who has an immense knowledge of the many layers of history in Nora. Claudia also gave us tips on where and what to eat during our holiday in Sardegna. We highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I have a particular affinity for ancient culture and history of areas we visit. The archeological site of Nora was an excellent example of this - and more than we expected, thanks to our absolutely stellar guide Claudia from Genna Tours. She genuinely cares for her Sardinian ancestors’ Nuraghic culture and everything that followed - like the overlapping influences of Phoenician, Punic and Roman that make up Nora. She gave us a great perspective on the settlement — walking us through the different “neighborhoods” of Nora, explaining the flow of the districts, orienting us and helping us imagine life at that time. Plus the engineering mastery of the Roman roads and thermal baths, the economic and societal shifting over 400 years, the eventual shifting away to nearby Cagliari. Super interesting — and very well structured and presented by Claudia. Her enthusiasm and pride made it even better. The location is beautiful, even in light rain. Look around in all directions and one can understand why a major town was settled there. The mosaics are modest but intriguing, especially knowing Sardinia did not care much for such ornamental aspects. The theatre is small by Roman standards - but feels appropriate within the scale of the settlement. Intimate, even - like you could picture the town centering around that space of plays and gladiator fights. And I wouldn’t have known half of this without Claudia connecting it all together for us. Definitely recommend. Ton of history here. Easy to get to from Cagliari. Not a lot of physical effort required. And there’s even amenities onsite if needed.

Claudia and Barbara were knowledgeable and gracious guides. We very much enjoyed both tours we took with them. The Nora tour ended up having two bonuses! The saint of Cagliari was paying his annual visit to Nora while we were there AND the seagulls had just hatched out their chicks on the archaeological site!! Very highly recommend any tours offered with this company. Their restaurant suggestions are excellent, as well!
