Itinerary
After a hotel pickup, chat with your guide about the island’s cuisine and travel to your first stop. Hear about the wine and the island’s characteristic volcanic soil — known as aspa — that helps produce wine with abundant mineral flavors and light notes.
Stop at a volcanic winery to sample your first glasses of wine, and then continue to the second winery of the day to learn about the different varietals produced on the island: assyrtiko, nykteri and vinsanto.
From there, it’s on to your cooking class. Under the watchful eye of your chef, help prepare a feast of local dishes. What you cook is decided on the day, but you can expect classics such as a tomato-flavored fritters, traditional Greek salad, and pork fillet caramelized with the sweet vinsanto wine.
When your food is ready, sit down to eat. Help yourself to wine to complement your creations, and finish with a glass of vinsanto to end your meal in the local way. With your take-home recipes in hand, you’ll then return to your vehicle and finish with a hotel drop-off.

Everyone in our group of 6 people would definitely recommend.
First winery: 5 wines, cheeses.
Second: 5 wines, meat, cheese, and fruit.
Third: Lunch was more of a participatory demonstration than a full class itself, which was fine because of the awful plastic knives they give you. Of course, you’ve already had 10 wines by that point, so maybe not the worst idea.
They pick you up, drop you off, and cart you around everywhere in between.
What really made it was the people. Our guide Katarina was so much fun - personable, knowledgeable, and very gracious. Angela, the cooking instructor, was all smiles and gave a little history on the meal we were going to have, and the meal itself came out great.

This was the most in depth wine tour we have taken. It was not rushed like I thought was normal. We spent over an hour at each winery and tried many varieties. Our guide gave a small history lesson of Santorini and about the wine industry here. The portions of wine were good value, probably 10 glasses of wine over the duration of the tour. The food experience was in depth and educational. It wasnt as hands on as I expected but still kept us involved in the process.
Would recommend to family and friends!

Was 95% wine tour and 5% cooking class. Our guide, Santos, was very informative and funny. Had a great time with the small group.

The wine was phenomenal. I assumed that we’d only be trying five or so different variations, but I think we tasted around 15. The cooking class wasn’t as much of a cooking class as it was assisting the chef. But I ended up making some friends so we just laughed, talked, drank, and assisted a little with the cooking. I was a solo female traveler (22 years old), and I had the time of my life. It was such a fantastic experience, and our tour guide was awesome!

Angelou was a wonderful host and guide. We had an amazing time and definitely recommend this wine tour. Angelou was funny, made the day light and was extremely Knowledgeable.

The tour was amazing! Angelo was a great host. He’s very knowledgeable about the various type of wine. Great service from picking up right at the hotel and dropping right back in front of the hotel. The cooking class was great as well! Made tomato fritters, Greek salad and Moussaka. Got baklava for dessert at the end.

Visited 3 wineries, the first, a small winery was the best, tasting were inside a cave. Angello our guide for the day was a sommelier, therefore his knowledge of wine/food enhanced the experience along with his sense of humour. The second winery, Santos was very large and the experience was not as intimate. The last winery featured chef David who instructed us with hands on prep for 3 meals. Not much actual cooking. We ate the 3 dishes and tasted the local wine.

Angelo was amazing! The wineries were beautiful and we had a fun time learning about and tasting wines. Highly recommend!

Our family of 8 people really enjoyed this experience. The host was knowledgeable and engaging throughout the day - where we visited a grape vineyard and three different wineries. The group cooking class was hosted by a very engaging chef who brought everyone into the experience. We went over time by 1 hour+, though our host did not seem to mind. Great experience!

LOVED Aggelos and the entire experience! We met so many fun people from all over the world and learned so much about Santorini wine-how to taste, smell, pair etc. and thoroughly enjoyed every minute!

Angelo was great! Very fun, explained everything well and provided everyone with a great experience. Highly recommend!

On this tour, it occurred to me that I had never actually learnt about the intimate details behind the process of making wine- I only had vague ideas. From the jump, our guide Angelo was funny, informative and easygoing. We first looked at the unique Grecian way of growing grapes and how the climate impacts them, specifically in regards to flavor. Then the real fun began- the first tasting. Angelo taught us the proper ways to look at, smell and taste wine and also how to pair it with food, answering any questions we had about wine-meal combos. It was a thorough experience from thereon, and at the risk of sounding like a wine snob, my group and I left with a better appreciation for the art and culture behind the grape (one of us was even a level 1 sommelier!). Some of the highlights included the friendly local winemakers, the small doses of local history and the superb Greek Rosés.
The rest of the day played out perfectly, from the second winery nestled into a cliff with stunning views of the caldera, to the exciting cooking class finale. We arrived at Anhydrous winery and restaurant at the end of our tour and were greeted by a lovely group of wine enthusiasts and chefs. They had everything prepared for us and, to our relief, the cooking class was rather more of a paint-by-numbers experience than a culinary test (dicing onions is surprisingly difficult!), punctuated by their own lovely wines. I won't spoil the menu, but you will certainly leave with a full belly, and even fuller heart.
What I enjoyed most about this tour was that it captured the Greek sense of community. The reason I keep returning to Greece is because there are few places one feels more welcome and cherished so instantaneously. Sure, the incredible food, wine and scenery are top reasons as well, but it is the people there that truly shine. It was the dry wit and charming snark of our guide Angelo that disarmed us at the beginning of the day and created a safe space to be snobby about what we drank. Then it was the immediate hospitality of the local winery staff that made each stop on the trip a memorable one. And, lastly, it was the love that our teacher-chef had for food and for people that made our first collective foray into Greek cuisine so easy and fun.
By far the best food/drink experience I have had in Greece. Do not hesitate to book.

Had a great time! The wineries and tastings were both beautiful and full of history. The cooking class was fun and delicious. Would recommend anyone to try.

Our host was great. Very knowledgable and very pleasant. The dinner was fantastic and the cooking was fun.
Definitely a great way to spend a day and meet new friends.

I would highly recommend this activity! It was a small class so you got to know everyone and enjoy each other’s companies. Our guide and cooking instructor were very informative and attentive. My wife and I had an amazing time!

This was an incredible tour, a highlight of our honeymoon and hands down the best wine tour we have ever been on in the US and Europe. Cooking class was very fun, and the food was delicious and plentiful. We cannot say enough good things about this tour.

We have never learned so much on a wine tour while having an amazing time. Aggelos was our tour guide & he was very knowledgeable & made our group bond & have a great time together. We didn't know anyone else but after a few glasses of wine & plenty of laughs, we felt like we have all known each other for years. This tour is a great way to see the wineries of Santorini & learn about Greek food also. The views are spectacular & the wine is some of the best!

Our driver Anton turned out to be a sommelier and was incredibly informative and passionate. We learned so much about wine and how to appreciate it that made the tour experience far exceed expectations. The chef Talia was a cute young lady with a lot of energy. This tour was absolutely one of the best we have booked anywhere.

Our guide and chef was absolutely incredible! Knowledgeable, funny and efficient. It was a beautiful way to spend the day.

Stephanos our guide picked us up near our hotel exactly at the arranged hour and took us on a tour of some of the Santorini wineries displaying his encyclopedic knowledge of the wine world at every turn. The cooking class itself was great fun and we brought home new recipes that will become part of our mealtime repertoire. The group itself was eight in number, with members from the US, Germany, Denmark, and Finland, all agreeable sorts that quickly became new friends. Overall a great experience and worth the price of admission.

Wonderful experience! We enjoyed the tour guide, the small group 4 couples altogether, the chance to learn about Greece's viticulture, and the great tasting experience at Boutari Winery. We made Greek Santorini salad, tomato fritters, fava, and pork fillet in vinsanto sauce, and ate a leisurely meal afterward. The tour was 6 hours long and it was well worth the time. I would do this tour again!

Michael's knowledge of wine, food and Santorini culture was fantastic

This was an amazing day. The guide was a fun, young wine expert who had gotten a college degree in the subject and truly knew what he was talking about. The day was arranged beautifully, starting with a larger winery to cover the basics of the unique aspects of Santorini wine and initial tastings, then a family winery to show the more traditional ways of making wine and to get a different taste. We then split off to do the cooking class at the restaurant at the last winery, and were lucky enough to be the only couple there that day. The two chefs were so much fun, answered every question whether food-related or Greece-related with a smile, and were incredibly patient and thoughtful. We used fresh local ingredients to make a Santorini-style Greek salad, then Greek tomato fritters, and then finally pork medallions glazed in a saw based on a port-like local wine served over a pureed yellow split-pea base. And then we had the pleasure of eating our creation while being served a series of that winery's wines. A wonderful day with great people and amazing wine and food followed by our best naps in years.

One of the best tours we took in Greece! Amazing tour guide who knew so much about the history of wine!
Lori D, Feb 2017
This tour was so much fun. We got to visit 3 vineyards, a beer tasting and had so much fun with the cooking class. The class then got to sit and enjoy the beautiful meal we created along with the delicious Santorini wines. Our tour guide was AWESOME! He was so much fun and made the whole day just a perfect 10!
Rachel W, Jan 2017
the tour was interesting - very nice that the guide did not push wine purchases, but was very knowledgeable and helpful when requested. He made a suggestion that really impressed our native Greek host later in our trip! I would recommend the meal as well as it's interesting to see what goes into the wonderful food you've been eating. It was a full course meal, so no dinner needed or wanted that night!
thuatto, Oct 2016
The white wines were great! The vineyards aren't particularly pretty since they need to grow the grapes lower to the ground. The food we cooked was really good and fun! If you are limited on time in Santorini, I would do the sunset catamaran tour and/or a private driving/walking tour before I did this excursion but this was still fun.
