What To Expect
Take in the views as your captain leads you to a prime spot for bioluminescent activity. Put your hands in the water to watch the glimmering access or hop right in to swim amongst the sparkles. After you’ve had plenty of time to experience the natural phenomenon, climb back on board and let your captain take you safely back to shore.

- **This is not a Kayak Tour. Guests will be transported via motor boat through the protected waters to the best location to see and swim in the bioluminescence**
- **Total time on the water is 45 minutes - 1 hour. Guests will be able to swim for 20 minutes**
- **Visibility of the bioluminescence will fluctuate with weather, currents, and the moon cycle.**
- **All guests pay regular rate regardless of age. The number of participants is monitored by the DRNA and is by seat, not age**
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 14 travelers

We did the Bio Bay tour in La Parguera with a group of friends, and it was truly unforgettable. The boat ride was about 15 minutes, giving us time to relax and enjoy the night before reaching the bay.
Once there, we were able to jump into the water and even swim underneath the boat. You’re not fully submerged the entire time — the boat has a unique underwater swim-through area where you can comfortably float and experience the magic up close.
At first, we could see a bit of the bioluminescence glowing from the boat’s rotating motors — but once we were under the boat, it was absolutely breathtaking. The water lit up around us with every movement. It felt surreal! 🌊✨
Highly recommend jumping into the water to fully experience it. A few of our friends didn’t even know how to swim, but with life jackets on, they still jumped in and had an amazing time.
If you’re in the area, this is a MUST-DO experience. Truly magical and something you’ll remember forever! 💙

It wasn’t as shown in the pictures. The bioluminescent water could barely be seen, we actually just seen a few sparkles. We were very disappointed and would have preferred the company to just be honest. We would have saved time and money. Seemed very disorganized, our excursion started late and we were only allowed 10 minutes in the water then had to left back on the boat. Very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this excursion to anyone, honestly the amount we paid wasn’t even worth the boat ride.

The meet up point was easy to find per the directions that we were given, we were in the area so did not do the shuttle from san juan. The boat crew were super friendly and informative. The jump into the bioluminescent bay was at first scary to me, almost did not do it probably from watching scary movies, but so glad i did. It was a once in a lifetime exlerience. Everywhere you went and moved it sparkled and lit up. Felt like a disney princess, lol
I will defonetely highly recommend this crew. You felt like they were your comrades and guides through the process. I will definetely go with them again on my next trip to puerto rico

Amazing! A Must as a bucket list. When going to Puerto Rico schedule this adventure on a night with. New moon or simply when the moon is completely dark. That way you see the organisms lights better. I booked my trip intentionally on a New Moon and did not disappoint. Stay and eat i the town. They have dancing at a little plaza And the best piñas coladas. You also feel very safe.

The bioluminescence was barely visible. The tour guide said it was more visible further away. The night was dark and cloudy, ideal to see this beauty. However, the spot chosen had too much light from the shore the only way to see it was jumping into the water.

It was a bit underwhelming. Not like the picture shows. It was also very far from San Juan, which I should have figured out before purchasing. Almost 3 hours from our hotel.

Our driver Hector consistently drove 20+ miles over the speed limit while transporting us in a van that was falling apart. On arrival to La Parguera, none of the guides seemed to have the tickets organized. When we did get on the boat, no one was given life jackets (we were told they were stored at the end of the boat but never saw one). When people were swimming, the driver restarted the engine to fix the boat's position using no lights to guide him and almost sent us into the trees. On top of everything, the bioluminescence was almost nonexistent, and the ride itself (including bay time) was about 30 minutes long. Overall, this experience was incredibly disappointing.

They left about three minutes before the departure time. I showed up right at 7:15 PM. However it was hard to find parking because there were no spaces left. I was traumatized because earlier that day I had already received a ticket for parking in a no parking zone. Because of that I didn’t want to just park on the side of the road or in an unmarked area. I called and they answered right away and she helped me find a spot but told me to hurry up as they were leaving in the next few minutes. We ran to the boat and they left as soon as we sat down. It was a very full boat. There were about 20 other people there we just sat in the middle since there was no room left. The ride was nice. The view was great because you could see the stars at night. When we got to the area, they told us we could start swimming. I was only able to see a little glimmer in the water, but that was about it. I knew booking the trip beforehand that the bioluminescent water was a lot more visible on some days so I wasn’t too disappointed, but I did wish we were able to see it more. We swam for about 15 to 20 minutes before they told us to get back on the boat. They were very friendly and informative. I would do it again, but I would want to try a different area. This was a total of 6 Hours Dr. for me to and from the meet up spot.

The tour did not meet my expectations. The luminescence was minimal, not like the pictures in the advertisement. This was too pricey for booking ahead. People who did not book ahead paid a third of the price. My boys where underwhelmed. Next time, I need to read the reviews.

If I could give 0 stars I would.... we went last year and had a great time.
This time it was extremely rushed, the boat captain wouldnt help make sure people were putting on their floatation devices properly. When we were getting ready to leave he didnt make sure everyone was out of the water and had turned on the motor while someone was still in the water and they had to climb onto the ladder with it on.... he also didnt do any type of head count making sure we had everyone. Especially with children on the boat. I made a report to the Coast Guard about this issue as well. Highly unsafe experience. I would stay away from this tour until they get boat captains that will actually take care of you.

The tour guide was friendly and personable with my children. My children and teens has a blast. We were airdropped photos and he was great. He was relaxed and nice. The tour was short for the price but a once in a lifetime experience for sure.

The experience was very cool, though not as dramatic as we expected. We are giving this a lower rating because the captain and mate provided zero commentary about the area or the experience. We had to research on our own after the trip to find out that there are only 5 bioluminescent areas in the world, and the one in La Paguera is one of 3 in Puerto Rico.

It was ok. I’ve definitely had better experiences and don’t feel it is worth the price. The tour guide didn’t tell us anything about the bio bay and was not very polite.

The sparkling dynafags? were great and performed as they usually do. But not worth $60 for 15 minutes in the water. There should have been an educational aspect to the tour. The boat captain did not even try to explain the reason for there being only 7 Phosphorescent Bays in the world (3 in PR); what caused the sparkling; what can cause problems with the sparking; more about Parguera and its history etc. A missed opportunity to truly deliver a nice tour in addition to a nice experience.

We were greeted at the kiosk warmly. Our Captain Franco was friendly and kind. While the timing of our tour wasn't optimal due to the moon, it was still incredible. Our 7 yr old daughter was completely in awe as we swam.
