Get to know the rain forest around Arecibo on this adventure tour through the Taino Indians' ancient homeland. With a guide in the lead to ensure your comfort and safety, float down the river through canyons while body rafting. - Location: A private wildlife sanctuary in a pristine tropical forest, North West of Puerto Rico.
- Travel time: Approximately one hour.
- Age limit: Minimum standard age is 10 years old; agile younger children (8 or 9) are welcome.
- Level of difficulty: Average. Requires a good level of physical exertion/fitness; anyone who is agile and in good health may participate.
- Restrictions: You need to be agile, active and be in good health. For their own safety, pregnant women cannot participate, nor anyone who has undergone recent surgery, has back injuries, nor those with a serious heart, respiratory or neurologic condition, such as epilepsy.
- What to wear
- Top: comfortable top, lightweight & breathable made of synthetic quick dry material.
- Bottom: Ladies may wear bathing suit as a first layer, then 'leggings' or light sports pants on top. Gentlemen may wear swim trunks, also bike pants or light sports pant.
- Shoes: Sneakers, closed-toe outdoor shoes, light hiking boots.

If any host or guest is running a temperature of more than 100.4° F, that person will not be allowed to participate in the experience, per CDC guidelines.
- Medical Form. You must fill out our Medical Form. You must be in good health to participate in our activities. For their own safety, the following cannot participate in our experiences: persons who are pregnant or have recently undergone surgical procedures, have serious heart conditions, respiratory system conditions, back injuries, or epilepsy, among others. If you have any questions concerning your health, please contact us at any time. You must also agree on our waiver. Participants under 18 years old will need a legal guardian to sign off on it. The Medical Form and Waiver can be filled in the meeting place thaeday of the experience.

Amazing experience! I would recommend this to anyone, our tour guide was great & super friendly. This activity does require a lot of strength since you are hiking through the off beaten path and climbing back up a huge rock! This experience was amazing and would do this again when I’m back in PR

Out of anywhere in the world out of all the people in the world you are in this Forrest with your loved ones completely isolated but in tune with nature, The Hike was amazing the body rafting was fun there are rocks no major bumps or bruises for me just little bumps they are part of the experience but this is a once jn a lifetime experience to float through a river in the island in natural water. Me my Wife son and sister had an amazing time and the host are did a great job so did the guide. Only bad reviews are ppl that can’t take bumps or can’t follow directions.. 10/10 experience

This was spectacular. Really beautiful experience. Does require a certain level of physical ability. If you balk at taking a few knocks or doing an uphill hike with some scrambling and slippery terrain, maybe not for you. And you will get dirty and completely soaked! But if that doesn't put you off, this is a special experience that is unlike anything else you are likely to have done.

One of a kind experience. Not for the weary, the trek down to the river and back up can be harrowing. The river is full of rocks but the guides take special care to make safety the #1 consideration.

My husband and 23 year old son had a fantastic time. Mimi, the tour organizer was very thorough with the details of the excursion, meeting point, body rafting techniques and safety measures.
Kelly, our tour guide, was wonderful! She provided us with all the information to have a safe and enjoyable "ride" down the Tanama River. It is evident that Kelly loves what she does and her love for the outdoors and nature was contagious.
It was so refreshing to have a small group, only 5 of us, and not 20+ people on the tour, it made the experience much more personal. Our family loved hanging out with the "Texans".
Despite a few tush bruises from the rocks, I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone who is looking for a unique and adventurous experience in Puerto Rico.

Mimi and Kelly were quite amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. Mimi was good at coordinating, communities clearly and even provided me with an alternative form of transportation as I was solo-travelling and I hadn’t rented a car.
Kelly was our tour guide. She took us through the forest, down the stream, to a cave and back up. The location itself was quite scenic and breathtaking. It’s not a well-known destination, I think. I didn’t see anyone else besides our group, it felt even more unique. Kelly explained the local flora and fauna, the history behind how certain species ended up on the island, how certain sections of the island were formed.
Safety wise, I and a couple of others who hadn’t prior swimming experience, felt really safe. She guided us through the tricky spots and made it a fun experience rather than a scary ride. Will definitely go back for this tour again.

Absolutely a must do if you enjoy adventure, being away from crowds, and being in water.
Mimi was in communication to help us with any questions/concerns we had.
We loved our time with Kelly. She was so much fun and knowledgeable guide. We felt very safe with her.
The area is breathtaking. So beautiful.
It did take a couple of tries to figure out how to body raft but lots of laughs as we learned.
It will be helpful if you’re in shape. There is a moderate amount of hiking/climbing. If you struggle with mobility or balance this might not be for you.
This is over an hour drive from San Juan far away from people. (One of the things we loved about it)
The only thing that would have made this better is being able to body raft for the whole day.
Such a fun experience.

We did this tour as a family. We had to get our own rental car to get to the place but the tour company assisted with the booking and made sure we got their corporate rate. During this tour, you will float down a fairly shallow river. You will hit some rocks. It’s advisable to wear long-sleeved clothes for that reason. This tour is not good for people with back issues. Overall, we enjoyed the tour but it was not easy.

I had an incredible experience right from the beginning. Kelly provided us with insightful knowledge about Puerto Rico's natural beauty and the importance of preserving it. The tour was an absolute blast, and the scenery was breathtaking—I'd gladly do it all over again. Just a tip: remember to wear long sleeves as it can get quite chilly.

Our family of four signed up for this excursion after it was highly recommended by a family member and we had a great day. Mimi and the guides were all friendly, welcoming, and informative. The hike in and out was beautiful. The water level was a bit low and so the float portion of the trip also involved some walking in the water but the guides were always looking out for the best way to navigate. We would highly recommend this for someone looking for a fun and active day.

We ended up not taking this trip, partially due to pandemic times and most importantly being told last minute that our grand kids were too young. However, Mimi the tour coordinator was very on top of our questions and concerns. It certainly looked like from all the information the send out that they are extremely conscious about their customers. It may be Viator’s fault for not passing on our first questions. But have no fear this operator will let you know - right down to asking if you want mayonnaise on your sandwiches!

This body rafting tour was one of the most memorable travel experiences ever! Mimi went above and beyond prior to the experience, even helping to book a rental vehicle for us. Gaby, Gian, Surey, and Raquel were excellent guides, and were extremelt helpful to my wife and eight-year-old daughter on the hike throughout the trip. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Puerto Rico!

I highly recommend this excursion to anybody and everybody! Jian Carlos and Juan’s passion and love for our beautiful surroundings came through loud and clear. It was a real pleasure to see and experience their enthusiasm. Their great mood was quite infectious! Furthermore (and, perhaps most importantly), my sister and I never felt like we would die or even get hurt on this quite exhilarating experience under their supervision. At the end, we felt like we learned a lot about the river and it’s surrounding terrain while also enjoying the fun of body rafting! Bravo boys!

Yes, you are correct, some people are very athletic, some are not. Some just like to take it easy and go at a slower pace... to just laugh and love every step along this marvelous heaven. We had an excellent guide (Callie), and she was very patient with kids and adults alike! The scenery was gorgeous, and I love adventure, so this fit the bill! I would caution the hike down and up were treacherous and not for those who are cardio-challenged. My only disappointment was that the river was very shallow right now, so there were a lot of rocks to contend with while rafting, and less than clear water for visibility. If I went again, I’d go when the river was deeper. Really unique experience, and PR is so wild and beautiful!

This was one of the best adventures I’ve traveled around the world and every if not most have been so guided that the next step was predated. This was raw and if you want to experience the rain forest, do this one, it will be your best experience. Let’s talk about the guide, she was Amazing!! She took care of us and she also was a history teacher to the ones who didn’t know this history of PR. Thank you so much for this amazing adventure and photos! We had a great time. Kelly and Juan were great in leading us in our journey. Kelly was absolutely amazing with our 8 year old making her feel safe and like a little leader the entire trip. She had a blast. You are most certainly “off the beaten path” In this adventure. Make sure you wear good water shoes that you can trek in ...the rocks and mud can be a bit slippery. I also recommend wearing a long sleeve water shirt as some spots with no sun can be a little chilly when wet.
Great trip you won’t wanna miss.

Awesome trip! The hike was fun through very lush rain forest. Then checking out some caves and body rafting was nice after the hike. You can get a little banged up hitting rocks but if you’re careful to avoid them, it’s no big deal. Our guide, Kelly was nice and took a lot of pictures for us. I especially appreciated that as I didn’t want to risk ruining my iPhone taking it in the river. I’ll definitely recommend this trip to others!

Top notch excursion company. I received communication after booking reminding me what to wear, giving me meal options and more. The excursion itself couldn’t have gone more smoothly- pick up was convenient, the ride to the excursion site was very comfortable (we even stopped at a bakery on the way for breakfast and coffee). We were thoroughly briefed on our equipment and the history of the caves we would be seeing. The excursion itself was beautiful and our guide made sure we were prepared and safe the entire way. After an incredible day, we were taken back to our Airbnb in old San Juan. Couldn’t recommend this unique experience higher. You will remember this time for the rest of your life. Kelly and Mimi were awesome. And we love the (included in the excursion package) photos Kelly took so we didn’t need to take a camera or GoPro.

We didn’t feel like the description of this excursion was accurate. You need some hiking/mountain climbing experience. If your afraid of heights probably not for you. Nature was beautiful and tour guides were knowledgeable.

The tour was one of the most beautiful scenic tours I have ever been on. We had explored several caves above some water and saw lush greenery. The whole time I keep thinking that I am Indiana Jones. The forest was very quiet and secluded-there was no one else there. It was a hidden gem that our group had the privilege to explore. Our guide, Kelly, was very knowledgeable regarding the geography of Puerto Rico. I could tell that she is an expert and a possible scientist. I would definitely recommend this to people who want to venture out of the normal and are adventurous!
