Our Travel guide, Paul, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We had a good walking pace and visited many scenic and historical sites around San Jose. Paul helped us taking pictures and took us to get souvenirs in the market. He shared many historical and fun facts throughout the tour.

Out tour guide was nice and gave us a lot longer tour than what we paid for. Very in depth and informative tour; however, some of the information was not accurate and presented in a way I found to be offensive and racist. There was definitely a way to present information historically and culturally, but our guide did not possess that ability.

We did the 2 hour tour and thought it was perfect. Unfortunately the central market was closed but we lucked upon a free tour of the National Theater, which was spectacular! San Jose is a wonderful city. Paul was a really great guide. We learned so much. Maybe a bit too much walking for our 5 year old. Could have used more breaks, but we wanted to see it all and were in a rush so that’s not Paul’s fault.

Paul arranged an amazing day to Cartago and a lunch in the city at one of his favorite places. He is very knowledgeable about Costa Rica in general and San Jose. He gave us a nice tour of different areas of the city to consider living in.

We had a nice walking tour. Ricardo was knowledgeable, especially about trees and plants. The tour guide was changed at the last minute and our customized requests sent in advance were not honored.

Our guide was fabulous! Very knowledgeable. We covered a lot of territory in 2 hrs and ended with an amazing lunch in an authentic restaurant. Government buildings, national parks and Central Market. Worth every penny!

Paul was an amazing tour guide! He knows the city very well with lots of interesting places to see and learn about the culture of Costa Rica. He took time to coordinate our tour making it a very unique experience. I highly recommend Paul & viator.

The tour guide was very nice. He told us that we will be going to Central market for lunch, but failed to mention that we were paying for his as well (he put it all on one tab and passed the bill to me). we thought that we would be able to tour the inside of the museums, but we were only able to tour the outside of them. Transportation is not included, but he will come pick you up and tell you after the fact that it will be an additional fee. He was a very pleasant, funny and intellectual man, though. Overall the experience was great with beautiful sightseeing and a good tour guide.

Fernanda was an excellent tour guide! She asked me ahead of time what I would like to see and then helped plan the tour so I could be stocked up for breakfast and dinner while still taking time to go inside of free art galleries and showing me the bus stops near my hotel! I had a solo private tour of San Jose with Ezechiel. He was pleasant and knowledgeable; I felt safe and would recommend him as a guide. The Tour Company, was very prompt in reaching out to me when I booked this short-notice tour and I appreciated that.
There was some confusion though about the pickup, cost and how to pay for extra time. So if you go, be sure you have clarity. I incorrectly assumed that because my hotel was listed in the pick-up locations drop-down in the booking process that my pickup was included in the tour. It was not, my guide showed up at my hotel on foot and I called for and paid for the Uber. Further, the traffic was terrible and it took about 40 minutes to get to where the tour started and that time apparently counted as part of my 3-hour tour. And then Ezekiel and I extended the tour to stay at a museum a bit longer. I again made an incorrect assumption that I would pay the tour operator for the extra time through Viator, so I was taken by surprise when Ezekiel expected me to pay him directly for that time, but he could not give me an amount to pay. I do understand that it was partly my mistake to make these assumptions (you know what they say about assumptions!), but I do also feel like the tour description could be more clear.
