Comfortable, Collective Transportation
Our driver, Juan Carlos ,"JC", was extremely friendly and engaging, sharing information about theocal culture and Pointing out many sights along the way from the airport to our hotel in Manuel Antonio. He stopped at multiple sightseeing spots so that we could enjoy the scenery and take photos. The lunch restaurant provided a great outdoor atmosphere and was an enjoyable introduction to the local Costa Rican cuisine with the likes of ceviche, octopus, various fish, beef, and chicken plates. The van was extremely clean and comfortable for our family of 6 (4 young kids). I would definitely recommend this as a stress-free form of transportation for the long drive from the airport.

Pura Vida ... so true!
This trip offers much of the best of Costa Rica. Exceptional guides and drivers, especially Hayro and Tihago. We had one guide who failed adequately to translate to English, when the group was slightly more Spanish speakers than English but the day trip was successful regardless. Ziplining and White Water Rafting on tge Pacuare exceeded expectations. The boat coxswain, Roberto, was the best I've ever encountered. Hayro was very knowledgeable about fauna, birds, amphibians, insects and plants ... which made a stroll through the park a master class in natire study.

If you’re traveling to...
If you’re traveling to Costa Rica and need a driver, I cannot recommend Randal enough!
He was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Not only was he reliable and professional, but he made our entire experience so much more enjoyable. Randal is incredibly knowledgeable about Costa Rican culture and shared so many interesting facts with us along the way.
What really stood out was how he went above and beyond—he made extra stops at beautiful spots so we could take pictures and truly enjoy the scenery. We originally booked him just for a ride from the airport to our hotel, but we liked him so much that we hired him again to take us to La Fortuna.
He even offered to bring us to an incredible animal sanctuary and acted as our personal tour guide—it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip!
I truly can’t say enough good things about Randal. If you want someone who is kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about your experience, he’s your guy!

Great intro to Costa Rica
We hope you’re lucky enough to have Hayro as one of your guides. We lucked out having him three days on our trip. He is incredibly knowledgeable about each of the areas he took us to, found animals, insects and birds would never have seen without him. He clearly knows the area well, knows staff at the parks and shares tidbits about the country’s history and culture with you throughout the day. He ends the day telling you what to expect for your next day which is very helpful. The excursions all come out of San Jose so be prepared to spend some time on the road. CR traffic is bad and unpredictable which can make some days end late. Dinner is on your own each day which implies to me we’d be back by dinner - assumably 7 pm but two nights we were back later - 8-9pm so bring some snacks. Each day is well thought out and organized. Excursions in each direction from SJ which gives you a good amount of windshield time to see broader parts of the country. The lunches provided are great. We really enjoyed getting to know the other travelers in the group, it mixes up most days as some begin their 8 days and others peel off completing theirs. We spent a couple days with some we really enjoyed. Pack a variety of clothes as the excursions take you to beaches, rain forest and volcanos so having a thin jacket as a windbreaker/raincoat is ideal. You go from sea level to over 10,000 ft (not same day) so pack some items for a little cooler/breezy conditions. Overall had a really good time.

Excellent service, highly recommended
Great experience overall. Our flight was delayed, and the driver waited patiently for us (sorry about that 😅). He was with his wife, and they had water bottles waiting in the van. They also showed us the crocodile bridge and kindly helped us stop to buy some groceries before dropping us off at our hotel.

Good price great service
Tour operator was very responsive and was able to provide me all the info I needed. I was in a flight delay and busy immigration situation and the tour operator was in contact with me all the time and could confirm with me if the shuttle will still wait as there are other passengers and we want to be mindful of their time. In the end, I made it as they waited for me and that really made my day. The driver was kind and his driving was safe. Would use volcano travel again!

When we landed he was...
When we landed he was waiting with a sign that had my name (I just love that :)). He had cold waters waiting for us. The ride was smooth. Our Airbnb was in the mountains. The ride up was very scary but our driver got us there! I booked with the same company when my family was leaving. They had to leave around 1a. He was there on time ready to take them to the airport. Thank you so much!
