Follow the lifecycle of the coffee bean on a plantation tour, beginning in the nursery. Learn how Costa Rica’s soil and climate provide ideal growing conditions and how farmers carefully cultivate and select the finest beans for harvest. Continue on to the roasting area, where special techniques are used to extract the best flavor from dried beans, resulting in delicious aromas. Watch how expert tasters ‘break the cup’ to identify flavor characteristics, and see how the final, gourmet product is packaged and shipped all around the world.

Well we are sorry if you didn´t like the experience. This tour is one of the top ones in Costa Rica for coffee lovers, run by a very famous coffe company in Costa Rica and basically for entusiastics about the plant and drink. It is a general tour as you said, nothing scientific off course and not for Ph.D professionals- Sorry for the inconveneince. Costa Rica is a world´s leader in coffee industry and there are many scientific institutions providing deep knolodge about coffee production and support to farmers. Maybe next time feel free to contact us and we will provide excellent contacts on this matter.
