Overview
Animal lovers will enjoy this tour of the Ranua Zoo, an open-air Arctic zoo in Lapland. You’ll have the chance to encounter up to 200 animal and bird species as you walk the roughly 1.5 mile (2.5 kilometer) trail around the zoo. Learn more about the special habitats of this northern part of the world. An ideal activity for the whole family, in all seasons.

Arnti (not sure if it’s correctly spelled) is a friendly and knowledgeable guide! Tour is as per described! As usual for the zoo visits, we don’t always get to see all the animals they got.. I didn’t get to see the moose, red foxes and brown bears (hibernating in winter). It’s -7degrees on our visit and thankfully we were ready for the weather. Overall a pleasant experience.

Hotel pickup on time, our guide was great, full of information and not just about the zoo. Loved the zoo, had plenty of time to walk around and eat afterwards.

It’s a very nice zoo featuring cold weather animals.. we were unable to see all the animals due to the season.
Eero … our guide.. more than made up for that. A Lapland native, he is a wealth of information about the land, the people, and the environment.

The zoo trip was great in particular they had snow compared to where we were in santa village. This allowed us to have a snowball fight, snow angels and build snow men which up to that point we wernt able to do. The zoo itself is different to conventional zoos where there are huge enclosures for the animals. We saw about half the animals as during winter some of them were asleep. The sweet shop there is very reasonable priced in comparison to santavillage where the same box sweets were 5e in zoo n 16e in santa village. The gift shop n resteraunt have a huge selection of food. Our tour guide was so accomdatiing and even gave us extra time in the zoo to have some snow fun. We have a very good time and found the trip very good.

Rare animals to be seen there. It was cold, but it worth it. We sepent like 2 hours going through the park and seeing the animals.

Guide was great, on time and friendly, got to enjoy the zoo (which was really good) at our own leisure and wasn’t rushed if wanted food afterwards before the journey back. Highly recommend 😀

Paid €110 for a trip to Ranua zoo, not private.
This could have been €13 on a bus & €23 on entry. There is 9 benefit to the tour.
No mention that nearly all animals won't be visible this time of year (November). & the tour mentions that it is guided, but it is not.
You are driven to the zoo, & told to go in, that's it, but you pay a €71 premium, providing no additional value to catching the bus yourself. Big waste of money. Highly advisable to not get this tour.
Also got threatened with police after asking for a refund haha

Great driver and the zoo had some very exciting animals. Please note when travelling during winter that some of the animals are less than active/in hibernation during this time.

It was a lovely experience. Our tour guide Normond was patient and knowledgeable on all, with which we were given helpful tips and had a great day. Even with our little one, he calmly waited for us.
