Dani and Mario were so great to work with! The communication was great and Mario even picked us up and dropped us off after our tour. Mario was very clear about safety and was really good at pointing out all the cool creatures he found during the snorkeling tour. Such an amazing experience that was made so much better by both Dani and Mario. I highly recommend!!

It was a last minute booking a d Dani was great communicating the day before. Pick up on time, super easy. The snorkel was super cool, saw lots sealife, and glow in dark corals.

Mario, was a passionate & enthusiastic guide who takes you on an unforgettable snorkeling adventure. Despite the rough conditions, we still managed to catch a bunch of Roatan's "night" species, including lobsters, sea urchins, lionfish, and some animals that I have never seen before! The highlight of the tour was when Mario used a UV Flashlight to spot all of the "glowing" corals on the reef.
Despite this amazing experience, I reluctantly did not give the tour a 5-Star rating, simply because the Operator did not provide/include flippers as part of this tour. As an experienced swimmer, given the distances we swam and the conditions precedent on the night of our tour, we should have never gone out that far without all of the customary snorkeling gear.

Hi Arik,
Thank you for your kind regards and review. We really appreciate your booking and the time you spent drafting this review and voicing your concerns.
Nonetheless, it makes me a little sad to see that you had such an amazing experience and still did not give us 5 stars. When you made your reservation, we informed you that we don't encourage the use of fins since you come really close to the reef. We don’t use fins to protect the reef, our main attraction. When I started doing tours I would use them in every tour and guess what, a lot of our guests were hitting the reef with their fins. I didn’t want to be part of the destruction of our reefs, which are tied to our livelihoods. Since I stopped encouraging them, not a single person on our tours has hit the reef. Also, just FYI, we’ve never had any problems whatsoever with any of our guests who book our snorkel tours, we go as far as our guests abilities permit. You must’ve been able and apt if you went as far as you mentioned. It is kind of contradictory to say "Go on a calm day" and "we should have never gone out that far" since you did it because you could in the first place. Our number 1 priority is safety and Mario (the only other guide besides me who does night snorkels) and I make sure to understand our guests capabilities before heading out. I'm sure that he confirmed that you were an experienced swimmer and tailored the tour to your expertise. This is how I have trained him to do with all of our guests.
If I knew you needed the fins, I would’ve asked Mario to bring a pair for you, but you didn’t seem to care. You said “looking forward” when I mentioned that we don't use fins to protect the reef. Anyways, that’s my fault. I apologize if I didn’t catch that you needed fins.
Just FYI, fins are not necessary for snorkeling. In fact, they are designed for diving or free diving. When snorkeling, they actually get in the way. Snorkeling is about floating, not swimming, so you don't really need the momentum that fins give you. You would be amazed the number of people who snorkel and have fin problems. But that is actually not the main concern, it is the fact that people hit the reef with them. I'm an animal's advocate and a vegetarian, I love the sea and want to protect our ocean, so not using fins will always be encouraged by me, especially cause I know first hand what they do to the reef when in hands of non-professionals (90% of the people). Even people who tell me they have snorkeled before and are "pros" were hitting the reef with their fins, simply disheartening.
Moreover, our tour description does say: "Use of Fins is not encouraged. However, if you need them, please do let us know in advance." This way, to make sure our guests let us know if they feel the need for them.
Finally, please let us know if you come back again and we will definitely have fins for you next time. We will also offer you a little discount to make it up to you in some way.

Danny is a terrific guide. He made me feel safe snorkeling in the night waters. I saw many things that you don't see during the day. Highly recommend!

This night snorkel at West End was amazing! I had never done one before, and now I'm going to be sure to try to book one on my next trip. We saw all kinds of unique nocturnal fish including eels, lobster, lionfish, shrimp, cuttlefish, sleeping parrotfish, an absolute unit of a pufferfish, among many others! The guides Dani and Mario were really fantastic. Safety was always first and both were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. Dani had a real knack for spotting aquatic wildlife for us to see. Both were friendly and seemed just as excited as us to spot things. 10/10 would recommend!
