You Get What You Pay For

    Larry_S, May 2025
Do not take this excursion. I had taken the same type of excursion a few years ago but it was a much more enjoyable experience. Eight of us were picked by a van and transferred to another open air van on the side of a busy highway with no explanation. At the location we were encouraged to pay over $100 additional to upgrade our experience and I guess we should have taken the deal. The buggys were constantly breaking down and tires were routinely going flat. My wife and I were put in front of a young man who was visibly intoxicated and continued to drink during the entire trip. He ran into a ditch before we even got off their property and they still let him drive. He was put behind my wife and I in line and rammed into the back of us three times before we reached our first destination. The last time he hit us so hard that we rammed into the buggy in front of us. After that the workers kept him away from others as much as possible. For our cave swim we were not taken to the beautiful state park that we had experienced on our prior trip. In fact the workers at the park closed their gates when they saw us coming. Instead we were taken to a run down shack off to the side for a one minute dip. Later at the beach area we witnessed our young friend making a drug deal out in plain site while we waited patiently for him to get back in line so we could leave. I would have given this trip zero stars if it were not for the workers who somehow against all odds were able to keep these decrepit vehicles and hapless operation running. The moral of the story is pay more and only book excursions through your hotel if you want a decent experience.

Nice experience, just a little rushed!

    Nyana_S, Feb 2024
Pickup from the hotel was a little difficult. However, the overall experience was nice. As alot of ppl said in the reviews, the locals did alot of begging which was really aggravating. There was even a little girl chasing the buggy I was in which put her in danger of me hitting her so I had to stop and the tour guide made her get back.

    Disappointing

All stops are too short. They try to sell items all stops. Group too large. Over 75 buddy’s in group which makes the driving a mess. Not worth!

    Response from Host, Jul 2023

Thank you for your review. We don’t have capacity for that Hugh amount of buggys, we have other companies that in many ocasions concide with us. In dr in every stop in every tour expect vendors to sell things; you don’t have to buy if you don’t want to and it’s part of the new tourism friendship with our communities.

    Wild and Fun

This was one of the wildest excursions I've been on! We got sweaty, dirty, and immersed in the backroads of Punta Cana. I fully enjoyed every moment of it. WEAR A BATHING SUIT, A FACE COVERING & SHOES YOU DON'T MIND LOSING! They'll try to convince you to buy things the moment you get to the site and you'll need to if unprepared. They'll take tons of photos and charge you $40 bucks at the end. There are tons of children begging so bring some singles to share if you like. Try to be patient, the buggies and ATVs break down frequently but the guides always have a plan. Don't go alone unless you are certain you can protect yourself if you are separated from the group. The rides are through some of the loneliest back roads. This was definitely worth the price.

Overall experience was cool but some false advertising. Average affordable excursion

The title is slightly false advertised. We rode the dune buggy to the cave and beach. So riding and taking turns with my wife to different locations was enjoyable. There is a level of poverty that will stun you, and the locals in that area will beg for a dollar as you drive by persistently. Also, at the cave you don’t really spend that much time. You literally spend 10/15 minutes there to swim, and slightly more (15/20minutes) at the beach. There is no safari, just occasional horses and cows you see. But overall being with other people and getting muddy was enjoyable. We also stopped by a herb factory that made organic chocolate, coffee and wine in front of you, which was cool too. Maybe if we spent a little more time we would have more time to buy food and merchandise.

    Huge waste of time

    Gary_K, Apr 2022
Not only the worst ATV tour but the worst tour ever taken. From time picked up from hotel to start of tour was 2 hrs 30 minutes. Went only 6 miles halfon paved road and half on dirt road. Had two shopping stops not expected on this type of tour. Pictures online showed people swimming, never happened. Everyone's vehicles were breaking done and one had a broken axle. Got covered with mud that was expected but vehicles were now made to go through water. There was 100's of other buggies sharing the road so had many waiting times. Usual we have 8 to 10 people on a similar tour, this one had 35 people, way too many. Don't waste your money!

Stay away use it on the company you be better off if I could give him a zero I would

    Rough buggie

    KRYSTAL_S, Feb 2022
Very rough ride probably not good for kids or older people. Stops were short. Was good to see a part of the land.

    Horrible experience

    Lucy_R, Jun 2021
The buggys were in horrible condition. Unsafe, old and not inspected. Our buggy broke down towards the end of the tour. We had no breaks and we crushed in to other buggy. We were waiting for the tour guy for 25min. So many stops to pick up other. On the beach we were harrast every minute to buy something. Overall very bad experience.
