Jose was such a great host. Very communicative, friendly, and honest. Zoho Beach and Casita de YeYa were great. After dessert, we were so full we couldn't go for the drinks. 10/10 highly recommend!

We love doing culinary tours when we visit different places. We want to eat where the locals eat, and this tour did not disappoint. Juan was a wonderful tour guide, and we never felt rushed. We liked that we were able to choose the foods to try, but did take recommendations from Juan.

Not a great group activity

This was a poorly organized experience. To be fair we had a large group that the organizer said would be accommodated. We understood that you go around to different places and would get appetizers here, entree here etc. Well we spent an hour and a half at ZoHo waiting for appetizers and then another hour waiting for entrees at the second restaurant. At that point we called it early and didn’t go to the others. This might be a great experience for a couple but definitely not a large group. Which is totally fine had that been known to as before booking the tour. Food was also nothing particularly exciting.

This half day excursion was wondeful!!! Our driver (Jose) was very punctual with time. He messages us letting us know his eta. He was very accommodating, my wife left her phone and he waited while she went to go it! This excursion only pays for the transportation. The restaurant is a sepereate cost, I knew this but I like to give all information to future tourists. He took us to 3 different restaurants for different parts of your experience. The first restaurant (ZOHO)we went to was for appetizers, we ordered the mozzarella sticks and chicken croquettes, they were soooo AMAZING!!! when we come back to DR we plan to have a complete meal from here and the view was absolutely beautiful we sat right off of the beach so pretty. The couple who joined us was so much fun it made the excursion more relaxed and enjoyable. We enjoyed each other's company so much that we sat together for all of the restaurants, it was very nice to be able to interact with another couple during the tour! The second restaurant we picked was Captain Cook seafood restaurant. The seafood was very fresh and delicious we also sat off the beach at this restaurant. For dessert Jose asked if we wanted to try a new place we agreed he did inform he had never gone just heard about it. The dessert place was (Enjoy) ,this place was a disspointment unfortunately the prices and the serving size did not go hand and hand. The ice cream was delicious, the red velvet cake was super hard and extremely dry. Our total came out to be $41 USD for 2 dry and hard cupcakes, four 1/8 cup ice cream scoops, and 2 waters. This place was a disappointment. We expresses to Jose it was a flop and not to take anymore of his tourists to this place again Jose was so apologetic, but he wasn't the blame at all. Jose hospitality was amazing. He made us feel comfortable and he offered us drinks in the van. He was also willing to drive us to some bars, but it was getting late, we were stuffed and tired lol. I would recommend this excursion. Book with DrLocals and request Jose you won't be disappointed! Thank Jose for your hospitality we appreciate you!!

Underwhelmed by this experience

Jose, the tour guide, was nice. Be aware that food is not included in this tour. You will have to pay for all food and drinks. I’ve been on plenty of food tours in different countries and this was a first. We had a group of 8 but a total of 10 on our tour. The restaurants may have had an off day but service was poor. It did not appear as if they knew we were coming. Zoho Beach Club was beautiful but not Mediterranean as described. Our order (appetizers) took a while and came out cold. We sat for an hour waiting. Capitan Hook for entrees was ok. The fried red snapper was delicious. Our favorite stop was the Italian dessert. Hands down best gelato I’ve ever tasted!!! Because the tour took longer than expected, we opted out of the bar part of the tour. Suggestion: At each restaurant, coordinate a set food tour menu of items to choose from that can be prepared quickly. The long wait takes away from the experience. There should definitely be a Dominican stop. The purpose of a food tour is to experience the culture and food of the area. Also, the fact that food has to be purchased individually should be included in the description, not shared while coordinating pick up. Overall it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great.

Jose Miguel was an amazing host. He took us to some amazing restaurants and gave us some great food suggestions. He and his driver were very friendly and helpful. I felt extremely safe with him during the tour. 10/10 Recommend!! 😊

Brilliant night out, was picked up on time and returned to our front door. We were taken to places we wouldn't have visited without the tour, the guide and driver were very attentive. Refreshments provided on the minibus. Would recommennd to anyone visiting punta cana, do it early in your trip as it will open your eyes to what's happening outside the resorts.

Great tour. Went to different locations in Beach that served seafood. Great ombience. More fun as a group, but good as a date/couple. Only negative is you pay for your own food. Recommend they create a certain menu and pick from that. A food show would have also been nice, It is up to restaurants picked...mine seafood. I like they asked group on food type. Next time I'll pick Dominican Food type Tour. Food was great and tour guide was a great historian on Dominica and its food fusions. I would recommend this Tour.
